Refuse is militantly anti-submissive to the extent that you (in literal POV) refuse to use any option the Guardian/Reapers present you with and in the end you doom the galaxy.

I must admit I have a soft spot for Refuse. I like the way it rejects the catalyst's entire philosophy that organic / synthetic conflict is inevitable. If it wasn't for the slightly spiteful "you lose" epilogue, and lack of a breath scene it would be my favourite. At the moment though, high EMS destroy still edges it for me.

A breath scene in Refuse would totally give away that there is something fishy going on.
But I have to agree with Rifneno, who said that even then, most people would not believe in any form of IT.
If we are honest, a Refuse breath scene would only be a little bit more ridiculous than the Destroy breath scene.

Also, DAO was a great game.  Played it and all the DLC (even Darkspawn, damned OCD).  Not as good as BG2 n my opinion though.  But then... what is?

I suck at it too. I usually use the Duncan level up glitch and also use the item dupe glitch to get tons of mortal vessel tomes.

I see what you mean, and I can work with that. For example, top pic if Mass Effect wins something, and bottom pic when Bioware teases us with info. Is that what you mean?

I think that the fact that the Starchild speaks will Harbinger's voice if we refuse is what we get in lieu of the breath--the only way that Shepard can defeat indoctrination is to cling to her belief that the Reapers must be destroyed.  Refuse is a decision to do nothing, which could defeat the part of Shepard that is being currently influenced by Harbinger.  The fact that the Starchild speaks in Harbinger's voice suggests that he is directly involved in this conversation, at any rate, as does the Starchild's use of the word "us" when discussing the Reapers' destruction, as noted by others.

It's also worth noting that the campaign completion achievements "Legend" and "Insanity" will not pop if you choose Refuse.
