No, it was confirmed by flycam, it turns into a Predator during the explosion.

To be more precise: it renders both models. You can see both the Carnifex AND the Predator rendered at the same time, although the Predator is more visible.

If that is true, I would consider it as a glitch. Let's be honest, there are glitches and not everything is IT proof.

It might be a glitch, but the question is, why use the Predator noise in the first place?  The Carnifex noise is awesome on it's own, it doesn't need Predator sound effects overlayed on it to give it the punch for that scene.  That would be like overlaying the sound of a Beretta on a Desert Eagle being fired.

The sounds are not created by the weapon but a special sound file plays.

And you'd be wrong.  The game is programmed to load the predator's model into the system RAM when you go to destroy.  Only destroy.  It's intentional.

I wouldn't go so far to call it intentional.
Sure, it is coded that way that the Predator has to be loaded into the RAM in the only scene where you actually use a gun. I have no idea how the development of that scene was exactly, how many different versions were made and merged and how thoroughly the QA was (taking into account other glitches of the game, such as the Journal, it was not 100% thorough). But I personally would not count it as 100 % intentional.
I'll have to use Megumi's favourite line here. We simply do not know.

Does this debunk IT? No.
Could it be indeed intentional? Yes, I just think it is unlikely.

Yeah, that is what we keep telling ourselves. But Reaper code can rewrite itself.

lolwut.  Are you talking about during the geth consensus mission?  Where the geth were still hooked up to an actual, live Reaper?  Big mystery why the code would come back.

That IS a good point.

The question is if the Reaper is needed for the code to rewrite itself.

Yeah.

I'm just seeing some patterns here. I know my opinion isn't popular, and I'm not 100% on it, but there's too much in the way of being completely similar to synthesis for me to ignore it.

Maybe the parallels are there to show the difference between good Synthesis and what we see in the ending.  Because the concept of Synthesis is not a bad one.  It's just the way it's done in the ending that's horrible galactic genetic rape.

Correct. It can't be unintentional, and it loads the Predator at the exact same moment the shockwave from the Destroy tube passes over it. It's clearly visible even without flycam.

I know that.  My point is that adding the sound of the Predator makes no sense unless there's some other purpose, like hinting that the Carnifex that Shepard is using isn't real.  The only other time I remember a sound effect being changed like that is in the scene where Wrex attacks Shepard on the Citadel if you didn't cure the Genophage.  They use the sound of the Graal Spike Thrower instead of the sound of the Claymore.  Why?  I don't know, maybe it's because they thought the sound of Spike Thrower had more punch in that scene.  However, I'm fairly certain, while this IS subjective, that the Carnifex sound has more than enough punch to carry that scene on it's own.

The first four shots are Carnifex shots, and the rest, from the moment Shepard straightens up and does the heroic face, are Predator shots. The gun changes into a Predator the moment the shockwave passes over it. Shepard also vanishes then, it's symbolic of leaving the dream.

Mans like many things, it makes absolutely no sense for this to happen in literal. The sound even starts out as a Carnifex, and morphs into a Predetor as the tube starts to explode.

Oh, did you mean the shots aren't connected to the gun firing, but added in manually, like voice dubbing?

Thanks. like I said, I still have to hunt down pictures to help illustrate rthe points so I have a couple-few hours to go, but the hard part is over. I hope you guys will enjoy it, and it comes with a special announcement when it's done.

Edit: Yeah, top with my project nearly completed. This is surely an auspicious day.
