also interesting to note is that if, and only if, TIM shoots himself this track plays:
biosnd_end002.Wwise_End002_Streaming.mus_end002_shepard_wins

That's the only way TIM won't say his last famous words: "There... Earth.... I wish you could see it like I do Shepard. It's so... perfect."

If he kills himself, you've beaten the indoctrinated part of your mind; if you are forced to shoot him, you didn't solve the problem, and that part of your mind remains as is.

Sooo if you've beaten it, why is the next part indoctrination again? It's just a strange view for me.

Ok, I can always hear ringing sounds in Vancouver. Loud and clear.

Also, consider the name of the banner you get for completing the current OP. Hero of the last Days refers either to the last days of this year or to the last days of the Reaper War. Or to the last days of our waiting for the IT reveal.

I was thinking this same thing.  The whole concept of the Operation: Prophecy mission--leaving Earth--the new-look bounty weekend graphic, and the new title all seem to suggest that BioWare is moving us onto a new page with ME3.  I've always felt that this has been something for us in MP: we continue to fight the Reaper War (with new free MP content regularly) while BioWare finishes up the context (Leviathan and Omega) and then, when it's all set, a final DLC that wraps it all up.  I ascribe to IT, and am hopeful for some good news re: this new DLC when the new year sets in.

TIM and Anderson are just part of Shepard's mind, the three Freudian parts. It's him having a mind battle with himself. The decision room is actually encountering the kid/Harbinger, and talking with someone else.

The idea is that Shepard is able to drive back a brute force indoctrination attempt, at which point Harbinger decides to take a more subtle approach (I.E. The kid and the choice).

And in the MP timeline we've been stuck around the assault on Cronos Station since Rebellion.

I always thought the deal with the subtler approach was that it's easier to resist, at least that's what was usually an argument here.

Also is forcing the limbic system now the subtle or brute force approach?

If it requires force, I'd assume it's not subtle.

I'm sat here thinking: "Okay, so a lot of the writers are involved in the new DLC, three composers, and a piece of music could make us cry. This tweet from Patrick is likely to do with this DLC. In what context could a major DLC contain this kind of stuff about mixing drinks? Why would we need to mix drinks during the Reaper War."

My mind is probably just getting ahead of itself, but that does sound post-war-like content to me...as Blur has said - Rio?

So one must take the paragon route to "win" against TIM? Don't think so. If you Renegade it succesfully he is also "beaten". You can fail it as Renegade if you don't catch the interrupt fast enough and end up with a "Critical Mission Failure" screen.

It's one thing to suggest that scene is a subtle indoctrination test, it's a much larger step to suggest that only the paragon response is successful because of a minor sound effect. Haven't we already sort of proven that Paragon and Renegade don't really matter so much at the end?

Personally I find the repeat suicide (and remember the Saren one was optional too, you could get past that with neutral responses) a bit cheesy if it's not supposed to be symbolic. The line about how perfect Earth seems like a bigger clue that something is amiss and there's a look of.. redemption in TIM's face that I think he deserves.

We've been post Fall of Thessia. Maybe all this time inbetween is when Shepard is doing the SP DLCs and so hasn't reached Assault on Chronos Station yet.

I guess "subtle" in this context means "not obvious" or "readily noticeable."

Maybe Shepard is working for TIM again. Posted Image As a bartender on Cronos.

Sorry, I didn't mean the other one was wrong, and not even that it'll have negative consequences. I mean that it's theoretically better, because in one you convince the indoctrinated part of yourself it's wrong, and in the other it dies disappointed you don't see the world as it does.

That's.. assuming a lot, Blur. You're doing a great job of forcing evidence to match the theory simply because of a filename.

I've seen it this way since I first found out about IT, this isn't something new. What's the file name?

Well I agree with Blur, I've always thought talking TIM to death was better, and today was the first I've ever heard of that filename, so I'm not exactly forcing evidence to fit it. It just fits with what I've always thought.

I would, but I'm on Xbox. Plus I'm finishing this project that at this point can't be saved.

From the show NCIS. Kate was a character in the first seasons, but was killed, and now it's season 10. Posted Image

Oh man, I had no idea that Tony had a goldfish, nor that he named it Kate.  That's so sad. :crying:

Edit: Yet it's also touching and heartwarming.  For all they put each other through, they really did care for each other.
