Checking in, I think I missed the last 2000 pages or so.

So now that the fora and twitters are buzzing with the fact that the whole writers team is aboard for the next (last?) dlc, I have to say I'm mildly optimistic that I'm going to like this dlc.

I am not sure if it's going to be the last dlc. Everyone thinks it is, but I don't believe so. No I believe we are going to have one more dlc after the next one. To my surprise Bioware has not said what the title of the dlc will be.

So, how are things going currently?  Any developments that I should be aware of?

Pretty good.  Cousin of mine was in a bad place in life, drugs, crime, ect.  Fortunately, he got some neurological damage in just the right areas and totally turned his life around.  Whew.

Also, on a somewhat random note, I just want to state again exactly why I believe in IT. I just feel like it's necessary to remind us all why we still do this. I believe in IT because otherwise, the ending, even now, post-EC, is still filled with so much that boggles the mind and makes BioWare seem completely incompetent that I cannot believe they would defend it so vehemently or even come up with it in the first place without some other ulterior motive. Unless Mac Walters and Casey Hudson are two of the stupidest plot writers in the history of gaming, which I cannot believe since they are responsible for the Mass Effect series in the first place, they could not have come up with such thematically inconsistent, plot hole ridden garbage. More than anything else, this is why I believe in IT. Because I don't think BioWare's writers could be this stupid.

Was that a crack about what I said before about Jack?  If so, that actually IS pretty funny.  Yeah, I'll admit it was kind of implausible (To put it lightly), but it was just something that popped into my head that I felt like sharing.  That's what I love about this thread, we call each other on our BS.  Of course, we always have to be careful when we do that, or else we travel down the dark path of negativity and hatred.

Ooh, ooh, is it an Indoctrination Theory DLC?  Because if so, that would be the best Christmas gift ever.  Of all time. :D

Dwaling. Sadly no, but maybe Bioware will give us some speculations, or IT dlc.

Dear lord. Okay I am still at Sea world, and little children are playing on a play ground in Seaworld, and guess what they are playing.

DAO.

My god they are nine year olds calling out all the mage spells, and classes.

I believe in it because it makes perfect sense. The level of contact my Shepard has had with reaper stuff plus the Leviathan conversation adds up to the point where it seems intentional. In every playthrough something new jumps out at me, and it seems less and less subtle in each. The IT may not have everything correctly explained, but I find it hard to believe the reapers wouldn't aleast try to influence Shepard, and its quite clear that they have tried relentlessly.

Real life American parents: Making South Park parents look almost decent by comparison since (at least) 2012.

Exactly. I'll repost my top reason for believing IT.

If you're so weak willed you can't help yourself from picking a playstyle you don't enjoy, that's your problem.  Not Bethesda's.

Let's not go there, k?

More IT talk needed. Don't know how sometimes we get talking about non-IT related stuff, or even things that aren't even related to Mass Effect 3 in any way. Kind of belongs in the off-topic forum if you ask me.

The other thing to keep in mind though is that the only reason they keep this thread open despite stuff going off-topic regularly is that IT remains a valid explanation for the ending. If the ending wasn't some kind of indoctrination attempt, they probably would have locked it.

Well, let's just say I made an inference based on what I know of American parents, their kids, how closely they read the ratings, and how much they care.  Which is to say, almost not at all.

You ****ed about the game being too easy because you broke it, and now the problem is off topic? Seems legit.

True enough, but I doubt other countries aren't full of idiots too. My favorite such story was a woman who bought her 10 year old daughter Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on the basis that the box was pink.

Or at least, if the POSSIBILTY of the ending being an indoctrination attempt didn't exist, we wouldn't still be open.  It's all a matter of whether there is one, definitive interpretation of the endings, or if there isn't.

Edit: Top!  Banshee, are you still around?

My mum was totally against 18 games in my house until I was about 15 because by that age everything's fine.
