Sure - I'm not saying I'm right. I'm saying I'm having second thoughts.
My only point is that I'm sick of being painted as a crazy with no real arguments. It offends me.
I now have three playthroughs where I made peace, and one where I killed the Geth. Just in case I'll ever need it.

Legion dies to give his people true AI systems.
Shepard dies to give the galaxy Synthetic, and Organic DNA.
Now here is another thing I have noticed.
The Shraowd explosion reminds me of the Citadle explosion.
Mordin is in the middle of the explosion. He dies.
Shepard is in the middle of the explosion. Does he/she die? He/she should.
Not much time left until the tower comes down.
Not much time left when we want to learn more about the races that created the Crucible.

You're not crazy. You have all the reasons to doubt legion in that part of the story. And really NO reasons to trust it. But i think that that is exaclty the point of this event.

You could draw parallels to synthesis, but I think the best parallel is to control: the Reapers were trying to control the geth and it blew up in their face hardcore.
And I still think Legion was killed off simply because they didn't have a better excuse for him not to be a usable squad member.

You're not seeing things, and it's not just the style.
A protagonist touches an ancient artifact that downloads confusing forbidden knowledge into his mind - check.
Protagonist suffers hallucinations and mental attacks. - check.
Technology that drives people mad or turns them into grotesque zombies - check.
A hunt for clues from the past to find a magic bullet to solve the problem - check, check, check.
I'm not sure which franchise started first, so I'm not sure who's ripping off who, but blimey! There really are only about 8 plots in the world.

That is actually pretty funny - the reapers, lords and masters of the universe try to control the Geth via a rig, developed by rouge pro-human organization in one of their secret projects, which totally wiped itself out when the experiment to control all the geth totally backfired on cerberus and got all the project personell killed.
That's like failure/square. )))

Good parallel MB. Mordin and Shepard ascending the elevator and blowing up. Mordin destroys the genophage, Shepard destroys the reapers.masster blaster wrote...

I agree. Nothing is truly original anymore. Even if you're not consciously taking ideas from another story, there's simply so many works of fiction out there that your chances of coming up with something that isn't even close to someone else's is pretty much zero.

All very true. All you can do is try to execute your version of the story in an original way. Which, to be fair to Bioware, they did with the IT. You have to give them credit for trying something new. It's just a shame that the way they did it was so emotionally unsatisfying in the original game.

Dead Space is pretty awesome though. Not on the same level as Mass Effect, but still a cut above the average.
And yeah, yet another case of hallucinations in video games

Javik: I sense you have the lineage of a leader. A warrior's skill and cunning--they are strong in your genes. But you've grown tired of war, you're exhausted by defeat, and now you worry you don't have the courage left to go on. Find your resolve. This war can end if you do.
----------
Liara: What if we're too late? My people are dying down there.
Javik: Your empathy is a weakness. You must numb yourself to loss.
Shepard: Benezia took you to this temple?
Liara: I was just a child. I thought it was a history lesson. But now? Maybe there was more to it.
Shepard: What do you mean?
Liara: I went digging through her old files. She had heavily encrypted records on this place, some dating back centuries. I still can't crack most of them. Whatever's going on, it's well hidden.
Javik: I've studied your old mission reports. Your mother was indoctrinated.
Liara: Yes. We had to kill her.
Javik: Yet it did not stop you from fighting. As I said, steel yourself. Many more lives will be lost.
Shepard (renegade): I know it's difficult, Liara, but he's right. You could spend all day counting casualties.
Javik: When you should be avenging them.
Liara: I'm sorry, I can't be that callous.
Javik: (long pause) War doesn't always provide you a choice.

Shepard: "Reapers are machines, why they need humans at all?"
EDI: "Incorrect. Reapers are sapient constructs, a hybrid of organic and inorganic material."
EDI: "Exact construction methods are unclear but it seems probable that the Reapers have absorbed the essence of the species, utilizing it in their reproduction process."
And regarding the word 'construct', remember what "Child" says when you question what "Child" really is?

Actually, we don't open presents on the 25th anywhere in Europe, as far as I know. It's not only a danish tradition. It's largely because the 25th is not as important to european cultures as the 24th is. You could almost say that opening your presents on the 25th is a north-american tradition:PBleedingUranium wrote...

Merry Christmas Eve! I've already opened my first gift (We always open one gift on Christmas Eve in my family.), and it's a Master Chief action figure!
We do that too! I think it's a Danish tradition, my grandpa (dad's dad)'s family is all from there. Sadly I won't be home tonight
