I was a primærleutnant, the danish equivalent of an american first lieutenant (I think), and I'll be promoted to major. The ceremony will be held in January, although the exact date will be specified when I return to active duty.masster blaster wrote...

Not bad. What is your current rank, and what is your new one going to be? If you don't mind telling us.

Yup!
Impressive rank. In the British Army if you achieve the rank of Major you can officially use it as a title (i.e. instead of Mr or Mrs, just like Dr) after you retire.

I'll ask this question again: If the new MegaDLC is not IT, what could it be?
Some people are suggesting (bizarrely) that it's some sort of "Save Joker's Family" dlc, based on the fact that Seth Green is recording lines. I suspect that those suggesting that, weren't paying attention to the Asari in Huerta...

32 here. Just getting into those "not a kid anymore" aches and such. Real fun.

Not necessarily. Many people in command have higher ranks than I have, yet they'd probably not stand a chance against a normal soldier when it comes to a fight. Most of the guys in charge would probably ****** themselves in real combat, but they still outrank me.Andromidius wrote...

I started getting those when I was 12.
Then I hit 25, and realised those aches were NOTHING. I was invincible in my teens, and I didn't know it!

I believe that the reason why one can't come up with another interpretation of the endings is simply because it doesn't mae sense. There is no way to make sense of an ending that, at its core, is senseless, except if you say it was all a dream/hallucination as a side result of somebody trying to manipulate your mind. That is why the literal intepretation doesn't make sense: Because the ending simply doesn't.Dwailing wrote...

To be completely fair, that statement totally works both ways. It's also possible that the IT is completely wrong. I'm not saying it is though, if that's what you think I was implying.Andromidius wrote...

It's fun watching literalists complain about how it makes no sense for Shepard to be alive. "It's so stupid, he couldn't possible survive that!" Gee, if only there were some theory to explain it...
Its fun leading people by the nose to figure out their own conclusions. And seeing them fail.
Ah well, it's not as if I really care either way. If the IT is true, great, if not, fine. I won't get the chance to play Mass Effect for a long time, anyway.
Of course. But its still better to be wrong and try, then to be wrong and stubbornly refuse to even consider why there's a problem.
I always say, if a Literalist could give me an explanation of the ending that is more than just, "Lulz, Biowear is stoopid and layzie," I would reconsider my belief in IT. However, that seems to be the only thing that any Literalist that I've met can suggest. Now, that's not to say that all of them are that stupid and say it like that. Some, like Hagar, Epyon, and GBGriffin, are extremely intelligent. However, at it's core, that's the main Literalist argument. That, or whatever drivel Seival is spewing at any given time.
As a result of this, many believe that BioWare simply f*cked up, badly. Me, I'm not so sure one way or the other. I can certainly see the IT as a possibility simply because of BioWare's track record of writing great and compelling stories, but, when I look at their recent track record (DA 2, SWTOR), I find myself in conflict.
TOP! F*ck yeah! Where's Banshee?!
You know, it's odd, but I had heard that the storyline in SW:TOR was the best part of it. And as for DA 2, I've yet to finish either DA: O or DA 2, so I can't comment from experience yet.

I'm in the odd position of having played DA2 (it was on sale) but not DA:Origins. As such I was probably less disappointed than most by DA2, because I had no basis for comparison. The combat was fun and fast paced. The story was OK, a bit lacking in epic grandeur I suppose, but that game's real problem was its horribly recycled environments.
Identical warehouses. Identical cave systems, with a little bit of variety introduced by blocking off some areas with a crudely pasted in stone door, (with a tiny, unintenional gap you could see around). Dull, mud-coloured city scapes. Very claustrophobic, and not in an intentional, appropriate way.
