@spoti remember using that one a lot back in the original thread when we had a particularly annoying troll. He or she went by the name waldstr18 (hope i did not summon him/her by mentioning their name)
I might have heard of him

The loss of life on our homeworlds makes it easy to believe that this moment is the end of the world or the end of the galaxy, but I cannot believe that. Since time was first recorded, there have been thousands of supposed prophets telling myths about when the end will come, and they have all been proven wrong. We will make it through this, too… but it will be a fight to get there.
Good work.

I thought that last bit was interesting, in regards to ME endings and the Theories.

Yeah, it is interesting. And it could also be a reference to Chris, the devs, and all the times we've heard that the ending is the ending.
Edit: Of course, it could also just be a reference to, you know, the war. We can't know for certain.

This part too:
Earth remains the symbol of what we can accomplish and what we cannot accomplish – yet.

Well, that's what it is, taken at face value

You know, if this IS a message about the endings, then I do find that bit about Earth very interesting. I feel like it means something, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Saw this on a literal video about why IT was bad. I thought it fit IT to a T instead of what they were saying about a demo of non-bad writing
Characters:
Chekov = Shepard
The Melkotions = the Reapers
Spock = the enlightened player Byne
Kirk and McCoy = the rest of us
Setting = decision chambers
i know and the saddest part was it was in a video from a guy trying to show why IT is not the correct interpretation for bad writing. Worse he ripped the acavyos vid gave credit and was basically doing it like an analysis o the acavyos vid lol
That was the straw that made me unsub him. He had the answer to his questions, he knew the argument, he agreed with the argument...
And then says IT is wrong and stupid anyway.
Un-****ing-believable dishonesty.
That scene with Spock fits the premise of an indoctrination hallucination perfectly - if you know its false, and you know you can't trust what you can see, you can fight it and maybe break free from it (though how how long its impossible to tell) and you need complete conviction and willpower.
Wasn't he also the one who made the argument that if too much information is played over each other then it makes no sense, therefore the argument is wrong or incoherent? Ignoring that if you played every passage from Grey's Antomy recited by the same person at the same time it would also make no sense? Or that if something requires too much questions then it must be wrong, ignoring that's how human minds and science works?
URGH. Pseudo-intellectuals.
"Physical reality is consistent with universal laws. Where the laws do not operate, there is no reality. All of this is unreal."

Mr Spock, telling it like it is since the 1960s.

On an unrelated note, I know there's rule 34, but there's just a crazy amount of prothean porn out there. And I'm not even looking for it, I'm just trying to find funny stuff and I keep getting prothean porn. So very wrong.

I don't much like going outside this thread. I get strangely conflicted. I was reading one thread where vehemently pro and anti - ending literalists were having a fierce argument, and I didn't know who to root for. On the one hand the anti-enders wanted post breath-scene dlc, as do I, but their bitterness and anger towards Bioware was quite depressing. On the other, the pro -enders were too far the other way. Bioware could do no wrong in their eyes, and the literal endings were perfect as they were.
I think this thread strikes a good balance. We're appreciative of what Bioware does right, but we're not afraid to provide constructive criticism when they don't hit their usual high standard.
