First up the dude standing there. Skillz said that it looked like a dude in Cerberus garb:

It's a faint red light, unlike the Reaper main gun.

The second picture is rotated ioncorrctly. You should walk slightly to the right for it to be oriented like the one on the menu screen.

Looking at all the shots, it's pretty clear that they are radically different. For such a static image of a war room in a menu screen, BioWare could have easily replaced the screen with a more exact replica of the war room but chose not to.

@paxxton, which second image?

I think you're reading into that way, way, way, way, too much. What does that even imply? The main menu screens in most games aren't the same as in-game scenes.

I see the parallels and I hope you are right! In fact, there is A LOT of stuff that is similar to the last mission in Vancouver. Actually, you even get hit back by a reaper laser, then see a kid, and Anderson snaps you out of it.401 Kill wrote...
Since I have yet to post something on-topic, I feel the need to post something relevant (I like to balance out my off-topic posts with some on topic ones). So I've just randomly chosen one of my "things" from my notes, and it is below...
What does the Squad Evac scene at the end remind you of?
For me, it reminds me of when Anderson tells Shepard to leave him behind on Earth, while Shepard escapes on the Normandy. Your squad is standing on the ramp leading up to the Normandy, not wishing to leave Shepard behind. Shepard is standing on the ramp of the Normandy, not wanting to leave Anderson behind. It seemed like certain suicide in both cases. There even is a Reaper ship in close proximity that refuses to fire upon the Normandy. The most interesting part of this is:
Shepard and Anderson are eventually reunited.

hmm...off-topic but...
Say I wanted to get a PSVita, but couldn't get it for christmas cuz of stuff, I think I managed to procure enough money to pay for most of it. admittedly I really only want it to play Persona 4: the Golden, and between the game and the Vita I might only end up paying $60 or so for a nearly $300 console + game.
Anyone think that's worth it?
A combination of tips, christmas money, trade-ins and PowerUp rewards points that let me get a coupon worth $25 off any used consoleCmdrShep80 wrote...

How are you paying 60 for 300+game? That's causing my mind to be blown. I use a 3ds so I can't really relate for just one game. Usually if there's one game such as Mass Effect for the X-Box, I will just wait till it comes out on another system, which it did the PC and I then will pick it up. If it doesn't then I just won't pick it up for one game. But that's me.

God, talking with literalists gives me a headache. This cretin says the reason the brat was all over ME3 is because an EA suit made them put his kid in the game. Then it said that IT is "based on a lot of assumptions." JFC.
I know right? The ITers say we think IT is happening. The literalists think they know IT is wrong. They don't.GethPrimeMKII wrote...

I love how they spew these incredibly stupid things with such confidence, as if theyre actually a part of BIoware/EA's staff and know what's going on.
