I hope its a good read!

It is indeed.  Really makes you realize how much BW (and we fans) lost out when Drew Kar... Karyp... however you spell his name, left the company.  All the books are great.  Except Deception of course.

Wow that is very interesting. I forgot that Legion had Reaper tech in him and holy smokes that could be bad for the Quarians...O.O It would be devilishly cunning for the Reapers to use him as a contingency plan because hey we never even doubted the logic of the ending of the war. We may not even see repercussions until years later when the tech they use would get even more advanced!

Keep in mind that Legion did not upload reaper code to the geth. Someone else could explain it better, but it's like reading a book (reaper code) and taking out the pages we want and using them. Legion took what he wanted from the code, but he made his own.

It's exactly like how we have thanix cannons based on a reaper's main gun. We aren't using reaper tech (which almost always leads to indoctrination) we reverse-engineered it.

It's exactly like how the protheans managed to build their own mass relay. Sure, the reapers built the others, but the protheans built this one on their own. By using it, they do not develop along the paths the reapers desire.

The reapers never even considered that the protheans could do that (hubris!) and it stopped the keeper signal 50000 years later. They never considered Sovereign would be destroyed and we would build thanix cannons from his tech. They never considered Legion would be able to upgrade the geth as he did.

That's why I don't think Legion is/was indoctrinated, and that's why I think the reapers will be defeated because of their hubris.

Exactly (Hi Banshee). Blindly using the technology of others without learning how it works has always been presented as a bad thing, but reverse-engineering and figuring out how the other technology works has always been presented as a good idea. The Normandy can't beat the Suicide Mission without casualties unless it has a Thanix cannon. The Conduit, a product of Mass Relay research, allowed the Protheans to save the current cycle. Aethyta's story makes the asari that opposed her ideas on the Mass Relays look like idiotic fanatics, and we are never given a counter-argument to her proposal to build their own Relays. Legion is just doing the same thing using his understanding of the Reapers technology against them.

One salarian working on his own was able to figure out that the Keepers were waiting for a signal. In a couple years, Bryson's team combined with Shepard manages to find the Leviathans. Imagine how much the galaxy could have found out about the Reapers and their technology if it had actually bothered to make a concerted effort?

The Crucible doesn't sit well with us because it goes against this theme in literal interpretation. We build it from blueprints without ever bothering to actually understand it. It's the same situation as the Citadel and the Relays all over again.

What is this "Deception" you speak of?  We all know there are only THREE real ME books in existence.  Though there are a few inconsistencies between the books and the games.  Not huge issues, just some minor things.

There is no "Deception" book, but there is this rage comic.

My mistake. Apologies, I must've gotten a terrible nightmare confused with reality. Fortunately, I shot a tube and got out of it I guess.

The difference is that only one of them is entertaining.

Anyways, what does everyone think the new dlc will be and how do you think it will further the information we have for the IT theory?

Illusive Man also took what he wanted from the Reapers, made his own.

You are placing a great deal of trust on a platform that has made lies of omission several times, and has shown capabilities for manipulation. Not to mention Legion's other incarnations Geth VI and "We are not Legion" shouldn't be disregarded from the equation.

I'm not saying that choosing to forge the peace between two species is necessarily a wrong move. But it may have ramifications you haven't considered. Just like curing the genophage isn't a one-sided affair.

You know, there are moments that I speculate that BioWare might have told Dietz to make the book sucky and full of plot holes to test their audience to see what the reaction to the ME3 ending would be.

I can't even BEGIN to speculate exactly WHAT the new DLC will be, but I do think, if IT is true, that we'll probably get more IT evidence if not an outright confirmation of IT in the next DLC.

Is that...  Um...

Is that an actual (silly and humourous) summery of the story?

If so.  How the **** did that get through quality control?  And why haven't Bioware fixed it yet?

Sadly, that actually IS a perfect summary of the story.  I still think BioWare might have told Dietz to make it suck to gauge audience response to something like, say, the ME3 endings.

Yeah, I'm serious.  I don't really see them maintaining the deception beyond the one year anniversary of ME3's release.

Huh, the deception.  I wonder... ;)

Edit: I mean, the previous books had titles that fit what the books were about.  And Deception really doesn't fit the book, unless the deception is a deception of the readers rather than the characters in the book.

...siiiiiiiiiiiigh.  I better not write what I was going to write.

Suffice to say, that makes me very sad.  And amused at the same time.

I figure that if we don't have an answer by then, the odds of there ever BEING an answer are probably extremely slim.

It would be nice if IT was confirmed. Though I think that it IT was never confirmed I would still be happy and believe in it as much. They may not want to reveal it for some sort of mystical reason and it could even be used as a ploy to keep people guessing.

"Earth remains the symbol of what we can accomplish and what we cannot accomplish – yet."

From Mass Effect site's news, one about Prophecy.
