Ok, I didn't look at it in that light. It's just not the best in the game due to the setting of everyone thinking they'll die in the last fight and Shepard reassuring them like a good commanding officer. I remember that thread, and there is plenty of foreshadowig, hence one reason I joined.DoomsdayDevice wrote...
To me, that's a lot of things telling me that the war isn't over. That this isn't our last fight.
There's much more than this in the game, this is just the FOB stuff. Just played Priority Earth, hence these quotes. (Plus a few others I had written down earlier, but hadn't posted yet.)

Yeah, the beauty of it is that it has one meaning at face value, but if you look at allllllllllll these references from a distance, a new message shines through.

I'm glad you went back to Jack. I forgot what your other avatar even was, I only know that I always preferred Jack.
Orange Salarian I think
All correct. I started out with a Hanar. Then certain literalists made me pick the orange Salarian, then I used Jack for a long time and then I became the Mad Batarian Preacher for the whole Doomsday gag.

In-universe, sure, but this is fiction, so it means something for sure. What it means is pretty obvious.

Also, Regaurding the FOB quotes, the whole feeling is "It's not over yet, our victory starts today." And I do find it ironic that in High EMS destroy it ends abruptly with the breath scene. The breath scene itself screams "It's not over yet, Shepard is buried under the rubble. Shepard needs help." That combined with the Stargazer "One more story" leads me to believe that the breath scene will be expanded upon, and that Shepard still has more left.

About the breath scene: I agree 10000000%. It's not over yet. To add to that, most of the people you talk to also make you promise to come back to them! And celebrations will ensue! How could it end there? Why would it end there? Why would they write goodbye lines like that if you only survive in less than one ending and there is nothing else to be added? No. It just makes no sense.
Again, I find it interesting that ME3's end is either awesome, or ridiculously bad. It can't really land in the middle...

I never understood why some people didn't want a "happy" ending as a possibility. ME is not dark! You can finish the suicide mission with no casualties! Why not this as the best outcome, utter failure as the worst, and everywhere in between?!BleedingUranium wrote...

Oh sure, but the rights to their franchises would still lay with EA, which would be dead by that point.
That kinda reminds me of the entire fiasco with Piranha Bytes and Jowood back in 2006. Fortunately, PB reclaimed the rights to the gothic series after Jowood died this year.
and what happened with the rights for FreeSpace. The other thing is we all may lose our dlc's and digital copies of games. We also likely would lose access to play some because of needing to register with EA online before playing. So a lot of great content would be lost unless someone took up the server maintenance and holds the license.
This is where I like some companies better when they say no matter what happens to the company you would own the end user rights to keep playing the game, keep dl what you purchased and in general you own what you paid for for as long as you want it not for as long as the company exists

Yes! Most playthroughs would still land in the bittersweet category. Only the ultimate ones would get this. Though, with the EC halving EMS requirements I don't know... But oh well. It's quite possible the EC will be non-canon if there is a reveal. More fluid that way, as well as unnecessary.LDS Darth Revan wrote...
