I am indeed. :)

Mordin does slow down, mind, which brings real emphasis to his speech, given his usual rapid smattering of words and that is good in its own right -- it just sounds to me as the same kind of slow as TIM, if you see what I mean.. :P

The interrupt cue in the scene is creepy, though -- usually they consist of things like cutting to Shepard reaching for his gun or clenching his fist, or something, but this sudden looking directly at the camera, really breaks the fourth wall and should make someone, who is about to do the deed, feel uneasy about themselves. :)

Ah yes; I am familiar with that one since before - be thankful of that perception tolerance, or you'd never be able to stand "round" object in "vector graphics" games. :)

Both ;)
In the upper triangle the hypotenuses of red and blue are concave, in the lower they're convex

Congratulations sir, you're sane!

well thank you, i think Posted Image

Not entirely true. There is no curve in the figure, there is an angle in the hypotenuse however.

Here, I Photoshopped your image to show the answer:

I don't think this is the right explanation. It rather has to do with the lengths of the sides of the triangles.

And what point would that be? Someone who hasn't studied maths or someone who isn't familiar with this trick won't know the answer. Are you implying that these people aren't sane?

You really don't know what humor is, do you :?:P

My point: The gradients of the edges are the solution, like umc said

edit: to get back on topic: I noticed something: The ending could be a hallucination

edit: don't care if 'd. :P

edit2: and the error here is assuming that the overall figure is a triangle. The ares are indeed equal.

I see, people are learning about geometrical tricks here.
Did something else happen during my absence?

You should play it once. The ending is kinda weird, but the game and the story as a whole is quite fantastic, IMO.

Its because Far Cry 3 is confirmed to all be a hallucination.  Infact the creator of the game got annoyed at people who didn't understand that was the case.

Well, it's clear to me that the answer is that the slopes of the triangles differ slightly. And I'm not just repeating what Maximized said, I actually LOOKED at the triangles myself to confirm. He is correct.

Actually, based on what I've heard, that's not incorrect.  I should note, however, that by hallucination, they mean HALLUCINATION.  As in, awake, but seeing reality in a not quite real way.

Also, I still don't get how people can say ME3 sucked. It was a great game, regardless of your opinion of the endings. I cried my eyes out so many times during the game that I'm surprised I didn't die of dehydration.

Edit: Note, I guess my continued state of not being dead comes from not playing it all at once. :P

Well, since this is a slow day, I don't think it will matter if I take this chance to plug a cool mod that I just found.  It's called SweetFX.  It basically combines the SMAA Injector (You all might recall me mentioning it previously) with a suite of shader effects that can be used to enhance, or just change, the look of pretty much any DX9, 10, or 11 game.  It's PC only, of course, so I apologize to my console brethren, but if you own ME3 on the PC, I would give it a shot.  It's pretty cool, based on what I've seen so far.

did i ever tell you the definition of insanity?

1. the condition of being insane; a derangement of the mind. Synonyms: dementia, lunacy, madness, craziness, mania, aberration. 2. Law. such unsoundness of mind as frees one from legal responsibility, as for committing a crime, or as signals one's lack of legal capacity, as for entering into a contractual agreement. 3. Psychiatry. (formerly) psychosis. 4. a. extreme foolishness; folly; senselessness; foolhardiness: Trying to drive through that traffic would be pure insanity. b. a foolish or senseless action, policy, statement, etc.: We've heard decades of insanities in our political discourse.
Ripped from dictionary.com

But yeah.  Far Cry 3 only makes sense if what you see isn't what's really happening.

ME3 is currently only 0.6% behind Far Cry 3. Still has a chance for GOTY.

Yeah, based on what I've heard, it's pretty darn trippy.  Of course, the whole, killing a metric ****ton of dudes, part is all happening, but there's a lot of weird **** going down on that island none the less.

No, I also teared up at least twice during ME3, which is more than in any of the other game. It's just that the ending, in spite of IT, just...makes it difficult to remember them as clearly as it was prior to the ending.

Dunno if it's because the ending's 'bad' or just like that on purpose. On the otherhand, the ending of AC3 wasn't that exhilarating either, but I'm not having as much trouble thinking back of all the good stuff, emotions and fun I had before that.

Maybe the ending is like that on purpose. But no matter what, IT helps keep the game in it's right place in my heart and mind.

ME3 isn't bad, it's just...different. Just like Tree Of Life -- if you've seen it -- it just needs a right point of view to 'get' it.
