Then you must say that ME1/2 are as well. ME3's story is concluded, the series' story is not.
ME1/2 were never supposed to be offering a proper conclusion, we were always told that the story wasn't over.
With this installment, we were supposed to be getting the end of Shepard's story, where instead we got...that.
Tough luck pal, BW just gonna keep on pretendingRifneno wrote...

+1. Like Umad said, until we get a reveal, it sucks. Hard. If we never get a reveal, it will continue to suck. Hard.Rifneno wrote...

Obviously BBC, like a lot of people, didn't understand the ending.
I understood it just fine and I'm still pissed off that they haven't given us the finish to this TRILOGY after 9 months.

I understand that, but it's just a matter of perspective. It's important to note that IT does not need any additional content to be true. Mass Effect's story does, but not IT.
Going with IT, Shepard's story is his/her battle with indoctrination, and that battle is over either when he/she chooses to ally with the Reapers, gives up, or fights it off and wakes up. Shepard's story is over at the breath scene, so we got exactly what we were promised.
Besides, just like IT couldn't be revealed at launch to work, the fans also have to believe it's the finale. Now that we know there's going to be an ME4, we know that's not the case.
Shepard's story is over, the Reaper war is not.

You people say "reveal" like IT needs more content to be true, which it doesn't.
For "us people" it doesn't matter if IT is true - if there is no reveal. It sucks as is now, IT or not. Who's with me?BleedingUranium wrote...

Yeah, that. Be careful how you phrase it or you will come off as an IT zealot.BleedingUranium wrote...

You mean, IT doesn't matter if we don't see the conclusion to the Reaper war? That I agree with, we do need additional content for IT to matter.
It needs confirmation. A confirmation is a reveal.BleedingUranium wrote...

I think it's ok that they left the ending open for speculation. If the story is supposed to be controlled to some extent by the player, that sort of open-endedness is somewhat necessary. However it has left the vast majority of players wanting more, which I guess is intended to help DLC sales. People definately didn't respond in the way they intended, and I for one hope the DLC does provide answers to our speculation.
Looks like you guys will be well over 3000 pages for mark 3 by the new year. Congrats I guess
I don't believe Mass Effect was intended only to be a trilogy. They went way to far into detail for only three games and a few books. However, I believe the Reaper War is Shepard's story and that was intended to exist only as a trilogy. If and when they do the reveal, it will consist with the Reapers being defeated, leaving ME4 and beyond to focus on new stories and characters for us to enjoy.Rifneno wrote...
Bull****! Mass Effect is a trilogy. It was never intended to go more than 3 games. If they want to milk it with more, fine, make a new story in the same universe like any writer with an ounce of integrity does. Do not tell me "lol Shepard's story is over but not the Reaper war even though they've always been one and the same, buy expensive Call of Duty DLC about unimportant side events now!"
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I said the same thing not too long ago. Imagine how different it would be if there were no ITers. Everyone would hate them... It kind of sucks for us. I mean, if we're right, great! If not, then we've been defending people who should not have been defended. I think IT is true, but still.JMDekker2 wrote...
Yeap, if they leave it open forever, it sucks hard. If not, I can live with the way they've gone about it.

You know, I've only used it against targets and for one mission on Omega. I didn't get a good feel for it. I wish they would add it to MP... conisdering we need AP-useful SMGs there and not in SP. Adas too. Because you only fight synthetics in 2 (plus one optional) missions...Rifneno wrote...

Not entirely true. I'm an ITer now, yet will not enjoy ME3 any less if the endings are literal. I loved it that way for months, after all.BansheeOwnage wrote...

It'd break MP. It has the dps of a harrier (and I don't mean almost the dps, I mean fully the dps of a harrier) and if you stick a recoil dampener on it, its about as accurate. Except it has twice the ammo of a harrier and weighs less than half as much. Recoil is its ONLY weakness, and it's one that's easily solved.
