Claymores got modified so that it can be universally used for military personnel, regardless of species. The reason why Shepard might not have one is because, from what I remember, you buy it from a merchant. Naturally, these merchants would be selling the newest and most used versions than the original ones.

Try comparing the newer claymores with the modern-day M4 carbine. Sure they look pretty small, but they're as dangerous as ever. And after all, the M4 was based off the M16.

Shepard finds the Claymore in the krogan camp.

I bought it from Spectre requisitions.

Because you missed it in the camp :P

Then you missed the one in Aralakh Company's camp.  The best of the best krogan commandos weren't going to be carrying the crappy ones made for weak aliens.

They probably didn't want to do several versions of it, I suppose.

Infact, I get the feeling The Intelligence is a Leviathan.

It's certainly possible.  Way more possible than it being a ghost who haunts the Citadel.  Another good possibility is this thing.  It's a planet that some believe may actually be a supercomputer.  Wrap your mind around that.  A computer the size of a planet.  ...  Did I mention it's a gas giant?

That would also be awesome.

The main reason I get the inkling that The Intelligence might be a Leviathan (maybe hiding inside that planet?) is the language the 'Leviathans' used during the conversation - denial of the plan being a failure, and never mentioning that it was synthetic.  It might also make sense that it was an extremist Leviathan who even targetted its own kind.  Maybe those Leviathans are early experiments, and they are partially synthetic (the first failed attempt at synthesis?).

Who knows.  All we can know is there's a lot going on that we don't know about.

I wondered if instead of a traditional "silicon chips" AI, the "intelligence" might be an engineered organism, perhaps even the Keepers hive mind. That would at least make the Leviathan's seem less stupid for making the same mistake as their thralls by building a synthetic AI. They would be more confident of being able to control an organic based intelligence through their enthrallment.

I'm quite intrigued by the idea of the Leviathans we met being fake "replicants" (for want of a better word), designed to mislead Shepard about the Reaper's true origins. That would allow Bioware to retcon them with a more fitting origin and purpose if they ever so chose.

The planet sized supercomputer reminds me of a trilogy of sci-fi novels called "Requiem for ****** Sapiens". It was set in a galaxy ruled by warring cybernetic "gods" who were comprised of vast networks of  computers, some of which were disguised as entire planets. I remember the first two books being a bit trippy and bloated, so I never read the third, but the AIs were quite intriguing. Now they were good examples of how to do God-Like beings.

Planet sized computer?
I agree on the Intelligence maybe being organic (I mentioned that when I explained why I think the Intelligence =/= master of the pattern), since Leviathan never actually uses the term "AI". That implies the possibility of an UberLeviathan (organic) or a hybrid (Harby) being the Intelligence, not necessarily a "true AI" like the (fake) Catalyst appears to be

Since slow, I'll post this. Everyone say what your thoughts are; it's been a while since we've speculated like this. I'll post mine after.

Yeah, you won't feel it as much with Collectors. Mostly because (if I remember right) the Scions' guns do % damage instead of a number. And the troops shoot more than other factions too. But if you slap on Cyclonic Mod IV you'll get 150% more shields!!!

Edit: I skipped Incinerate so I could ingore cooldown and have super heavy weapons.

That explains it.  I use the Shock Trooper mod so I get extra Shotgun damage and Grenades.  I love killing, what can I say?

And I more or less used to do that too, but I found I rarely need anything other then the Claymore and that Incinerate is a really useful 'backup' power for when I was in a tight spot.  I dumped Berzerking due to the funky screen effects (thank goodness you don't get staggered like the Vorcha's own version when it activates...).

Agreed, but they didn't need to go so far as to make it look like a toy.  And what happened to the real, original claymores?  Shepard and krogans wouldn't use these sissy, watered down versions.

They should have weapon scaling.  All weapons look tiny in Krogan hands - and most weapons look ridiculous in Volus hands.

Yeah, you already have impressive shields, and you can add 30% free with gear (Shield Booster) and another 150% with Cyclonic Modulator IV. On top of 50% damage reduction of Tech Armour. Oh, and if you do enter rage, that's another 30%! It's great.

Edit: The weapons usualyl look like that without scaling IMO.

@Banshee: My thoughts: Worse than Refuse, Shep unwilling to resist his indoctrinated part, leading to rapid indoctrination, leading to decay of mind, leading to uselessness for the Reapers -> they kill him

I think its less actual Reaper deception, and more their own.  The Leviathans there might have been an earlier experiment, and the Reapers were told to clean it up once The Intelligence realised they were superior and thus the 'Leviathans' weren't needed anymore.

All speculation aside, its stated that the beings we find aren't the ones who created the Reapers - they are long dead, and these are their 'progeny' (children or creations, whichever).  Whatever information they'd have on the Reapers would likely be second or third hand, might be tainted with bias or weathered by time.

I don't see any reason to say they're descendants from a writing perspective, other than to create doubt about what they're saying.

Yeah, I found a version without the sign-in requirement. Awesome huh? It even has Valkyrie sound effects. Hope we get to do that! It looks brighter than night time at least. Nice typo. Also

IT'S CONRAD VERNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reaper growl everytime TIM starts speaking? Loud whispering just before 2nd ReneInterrupt? Infrasound I can't hear but is present in the audiofiles?

Correct! (Well I don't know if there is infrasound). But here is what else I noticed:
1. The DUN DUN drumbeat from the choice plays when he shoots Anderson.

2. The ascending tone just before the last interrupt is the same one used when about to exit the dreams.

3. You don't see Shepard die. Very dreamlike!!! Just like how you can't see you feet while walking through the citadel. And in dreams.

4. After shaking his head, TIM does not go for the control panel. In fact, the camera emphasizes that he doesn't...

What are your thoughts?

IT confirmed mother ****ers. It was in a dream last night. What can I say, my prophetical sleep-conjurations are pretty reliable...except the one where I was going out with Ginny and we were in Hogwarts. That was a weird one, as I'd never really liked Ginny.

Tangents, oooh Chimichangas, nice!

They don't tell people that the last 20 minutes or so is some kind of "dream sequence", which made everyone kind of scratch their heads after Shepard gets up after being knocked out by Harbinger and somehow Anderson beats him to the console even though he's not following him (behind him).

Yes, I'm still on my leave, but I'm actually not as wild as I was a few days ago. Quite calm, so I think I should just stay that way until they release the final DLC. Take a break I guess.
