What's the obsession with Shepard? Mass Effect is bigger than Shepard and I certainly hope we don't have to play as a Shepard come Mass Effect 4. 

And I say that as an IT supporter since the start.

I wonder why he shuts down the forums. We aren't badgering anyone and we stay on topic as much as any other thread does. So it begs the question "why"?

He said before it was so people who are interested in the theory aren't overwhelmed and can find it more accessible. Seems an odd reason if IT isn't true ;-)

Right. Instead, we can play as a Shepard 2.0! Another blank slate who looks like anyone, and makes decisions. How do you think that's going to work?

I know I won't be the only one who, if we don't play as Shepard) will make the new protagonis look exactly like mine.

Yeah it is. When I closed the second thread, he as good as encouraged me to make a new one. Why does this thread seem to get special treatment? Why did they deny virtually all of the crazy theories people had after launch except this one? It's either massive trolling, or we're right.

@Team do you want to play a couple of games? I think shooting/meleeing some stuff would help me right now.

Yeah, if they give up on Shepard, I'll give up on Mass Effect. I think Shepard is the biggest part of ME. I wouldn't play it any other way than as Commander Shepard.

There will be no Shepard 2.0 in next Mass Effect game. They've already written off that possibility.

Protagonists' background (and personality) could be something completely different. For example: pirate or street thug in omega.

They could go a route of either Dragon Age: Origins, where you can pick up character from numerous species. Or have the character more predefined like in many modern RPG's (Geralt of Rivia, Adam Jensen).
