Object Rho says that. A being of light if there ever was one.

You realize Harbinger is speaking through Object Rho right? Or perhaps through indoctrination?

That is just an assumption. Subtitles are identical to quote in my signature.

You've seen Prettz's video about indoctrination, the beings of light part?

TIM had to have known about the Prothean beacon. If he told Kai Leng to
wait for Shepard, then it would make no sense. I mean you would think
TIM would want Kai Leng to get the Vi right away, unless the beacon is
of Reaper origin.

It's possible the Reapers could have created a beacon. What is to say it's Prothean.

Leng couldn't have used the beacon. He doesn't have the cipher and he isn't prothean. But I think Vendetta may be a plant.

I don't think Shepard used the Beacon at all.  Vendetta revealed itself first.

Every other time Shepard has used a Beacon, he/she has been picked up off the ground and rendered motionless as it interfaces.

Hense I think Kai Leng planted Vendetta, or at least tampered with it.  We already know the Asari scientists inside the temple had their throats cut, and its even 'confirmed' that Kai Leng did it with various comments.  Meaning Leng got inside that shield and then reactivated it.  Or also planted the shield to make sure only Shepard would gain access.

I'm sooooo the same! I'm on holidays atm with family and I couldn't take my bxox or PC... almost two weeks without any serious gaming...

First world problems n all that jazz.. But gaming is my vice. How about I take away your ciggarettes or coffee for two weeks and see how you like it! See, I didn't think so!

3ds always solves that problem till someone takes it for the night cause you're not paying attention

If IT (or a similar equivilent plot twist) is false, then:

1/ Bioware made a terrible ending
2/ Bioware failed at writing a coherent plot leading up to the ending
3/ Bioware fails to understand what PTSD is, despite being lead by people trained in psychology
4/ Bioware fails at symbolism
5/ Bioware fails at understanding what 'closure' means
6/ Bioware fails at seeing they made a mistake, and discretely adopting an idea by someone else to cover their asses

Considering previous games have shown they know how to do all these things (bar 6), and can pull off epic plot twists, and are mostly still the same people they were while doing that...

So all in all, I think its next to impossible.  I could accept one or two of those things, but all of them?  No.

i vote 7 - the players don't know that RPG=critical thinking

I'm going to begin by conditionally apologizing to Revan. I generally try to be civil, and I certainly don't dislike you, but what you were doing was spamming, intentional or not, and I think Lex did a good job of explaining to you why it isn't appropriate, regardless of others reactions to it. Still, I shouldn't have gone off to that extent, but I was exasperated at my previous pleas being blithely ignored and lost my temper. I appreciate your decision to stop posting anime pictures, hopefully you won't hold a grudge because I'm not going to. I also apologize to anyone else who was offended. Except to those two literalist, this apology doesn't apply to you. You're both still idiots.

Do not worry, I hold no ill will towards you and you were right. I was being stubborn but the straight out fight last night about it to show that I was unintentionally trolling (posting things that get others angry) which snapped me out of that. While I cannot promise that I will never post one ever again, I will make sure it applies to the discussion (such as if we're talking about warfare I will bring up my Riza Hawkeye poster "War doesn't prove who's right--only who is left") or on very special occasions like Mother's Day (Those days everyone here tends to be offtopic anyway so it won't cause any harm). Other than situations like those, they will not be shown.Posted Image

Those planet explorations are exactly what convinced me of ME.
The moment I realised this was when I landed the Mako on a planet with a harsh atmosphere -- forgot the damn names -- and was actually afraid to exit the Mako because of this creepy, dangerously sounding wind sound. Sometimes it wasn't the creepy sound or horizon with a storm brewing, sometimes it was also something beautiful as a clear, atmosphereless sky with a second sun. But no matter what, it felt like a damn good simulation.

Playing it back then I knew that I'll never visit another planet in real life, but this game made me feel that this is the best it can get within my lifetime for me.

tl;dr: Bioware, I'd love it if exploration came back into the ME universe.

Just rewatched Acavyos' vid for the sake of old times. And boy were those some awesome months back then.

Still a great video, even if he now believes its untrue (though he still likes it - just doesn't think Bioware intended it).  Which is odd, but oh well.  Still a good video.

ya know, that's kinda like saying: Still a great war, even if Shepard believes it's untrue (though he still likes it - just doesn't think he intended to destroy the reapers) which is odd, but oh well. still a good war.

Well Jade, it kinda is just a videogame. Time heals old wounds etc. I mean, it's not like a comic series where you might get reminded every issue how much you hated this certain event, as ME4 will not be out for years by which time most of us, if IT is false (Which it isn't) will have gotten over it

But that can be compared to every gaming review or gaming award ME3 gets. You can be reminded by every time you see or hear Mass Effect 3 anywhere. Time doesn't heal all wounds.

Look at Star Wars, people *still* hate on the prequels.. It's been like ten years!

You can't really compare Star Wars to Mass Effect in this situation. Three of the most spectacular, groundbreaking films from the 60s or whenever then sullied by the ****test piles of **** 30-40 years later is a bit different from the ending of ME3 being very ****e.

*cough* Late 70's and early 80's *cough*

But yeah, the prequels are pretty awful.  I have no idea what Lucas was thinking with them.  Its like he forgot his demographic is actually older now, and he was trying to appeal to the kids.  Which he still failed at, since Jar Jar is annoying and the plot is essentially "young kid has boner for cougar, breaks all the rules to have her, goes ape**** over nothing and kills everyone".

A New Hope: 1977
Empire Strikes Back: 1980
Return of the Jedi: 1983
Phantom Menace: 1999
Attack of the Clones: 2002
Revenge of the Sith: 2005
Episode Seven: 2015?

For the earlier posts about Vendetta - if Shepard meets the criteria for indoctrination based on the codex (watch the "So the VI was Right vid in my sig) and Vendetta is a true Prothean VI why can't he detect Shepard's indoctrination but detect Kai Leng? I too think he's a plant. Besides we didn't see what happened with the beacon. When they said there was a Prothean Beacon I was expecting an actual beacon with dream images

Either that or the indoctrination detector is crude and imprecise.  It might only be able to detect full corruption (complete with implants), and has little or no method of detecting early signs.

Infact, it may be designed that way.  Considering the way Reapers operate, even mild exposure to them might cause the system to detect something wrong.  Hense to stop it going off every single time with every single person, its tuned high to only detect the fully corrupted.

"Head to Thessia. Shepard will be there soon, and I want you waiting." - TIM to Kai Leng
Why, if you know where Vendetta is, do you need to wait for Shepard to obtain it. They were able to hack into the archives on Mars, so why not Thessia?Posted Image

Why would it be able to detect indoctrination in non-Protheans anyways? Indoctrination involves incredibly subtle altering of the nervous system, so subtle that doctors that are actually familar with this cycle races can't detect it. A highly specialized VI might be able to detect it in races that it's had a lot of exposure to (like a Prothean VI detecting it in Protheans) but in races that it doesn't even have a baseline to compare it to, let alone an intricate knowledge of the race's nervous system, brain, and what changes would occur with indoctrination? No, I don't see how that could work.

Really, given that the only two people we know for sure Prothean VIs called indoctrinated were Saren and Kai Leng, it might be more accurate to say that the VI detects Reaper tech-based implants, which would be both a lot easier to detect and a definite sign of indoctrination, but not required for it.
