I prefer being paragon- it speaks directly to my heart. Unfortunately, it doesn't speak to everyone. I even apologized, when the truth is I'm fairly certain Revan was intentionally instigating, so he wasn't due an apology. I even apologized to byne because I felt bad for putting him in the middle of it, despite him acting like I was being a petulant child.

So yeah, I love being paragon, but that isn't life. We often have to wear different masks with people to survive. Do I wish I could be nice to everyone? Deeply. But I would be dead right now if I didn't know how to switch modes. Some people aren't self aware enough to be polite to. They need a right hook to get the point. I feel compassion for everyone, even those who trespass against me, but I don't owe them my submission. People who knowingly annoy/troll/hurt others get dealt with. And sometimes it gets messy. Doesn't make me feel very good about myself, but I'm not going through life being other peoples ****. Revan took it way too far, long after being asked to stop, and it took me blowing it out of proportion to get his attention. Sometimes, you just have to escalate. Could I have reported him, risking unwanted consequences for the entire thread? Yeah, but instead I dealt with him directly. Then I get painted as the bully while he plays the martyr.
I go out of my way to be nice to everyone but blatant trolls, many of which I got crucified for calling out until it became too obvious to ignore. Nobody ever apologizes about it though, they just blast me all over the next time it happens. Don't engage the trolls spot. Then they argue with troll logic for 20 pages while the troll openly mocks the thread. Many of you show more solidarity to them than to your own, just so you can feel self righteous.

And Bill, you've been an **** towards me for quite a while, just because we disagree on the need for additional content. You were the one cursing me out over it. Despite that, I made it a point to be complimentary to you regardless of your attitude towards me. Yet, you just couldn't help yourself from trolling tonight. Thanks a lot.

But this is what happens when you're willing to speak up for yourself and take a stand in real life, why should it be any different in here right? Once again, Mr Nice Guy has to be the **** and gets to watch while others play the holier than thou role. I came back to apologize for derailing the thread but screw it. You can take my exit as my apology.

You know, I'm thinking I should take my leave too.  This place sucks now.  It used to be fun.  Now it just raises my blood pressure.  Crap like this, which is basically the HH situation all over again.  I'm sick of it.  This place isn't the same anymore.  Most of the regulars used to be friends.  I sure can't call most of them friends anymore.  Even ones like Blur and Dwailing that used to be.  Enjoy your anime club.

I never enjoyed the constant anime pictures either, but I just never saw the point getting so mad about it. Most people here seem to share that view, it's only you and Spot that get really pissed at it, but that's par for the course for you. Why you think that means we're not all friends is beyond me. I've never had a problem with you, and I don't now. I've had a disagreement with probably every regular here at some point or another, but that doesn't stop me liking everyone.

This was solved long ago, and Revan isn't posting his pictures anymore, hell, they're not even in his signature. You're beating a dead horse, and it needs to stop. I never felt too strongly about the actual pictures being posted, but I'm getting very sick of the discussions surrounding them. I don't want to hear any more talk about this from anyone on any side. It's over. Drop it. I'm not mad, I'm trying to keep the peace

If anything's changed around here then it's only your view, because everything seems just fine and normal to me.

I think I'll take a look at the Queens dialogue (Alice: MR) today, as promised. It feels like a conversation between Shepard and the Rachni queen within Sheps mind to me, maybe in post-Control/Synth content?
Then I'll collect some other quotes from Cheshire, Catterpillar and some others. They fit the indoctrination part surprisingly well! The first two lines from the queen dialogue:
Alice: "I was expecting someone else."
Queen (with Alices dead sisters face): "You don't know your own mind!"
Shep should have asked the same thing when seeing Starbrat in the decision chamber, but that would be too easy, wouldn't it?

And Deus Ex: Human Revolution in Steam Sale: -75%! Go get it!

Indeed.

Apperently Alice in Wonderland may have actually been written in mockery of modern mathematics.  The author was very much entrenched in old methods of maths, and considered the new wave of mathematically theory to be ridiculous.  The rest of his works are extremely dry and dull textbooks on mathematics.

Oh, and I own Dues Ex: Human Revolution already (got it cheap on Steam last year).  Really good game, shame it wasn't more open world.
