I shouldn't have replied, honestly. I didn't check how far back that post was made, and I shouldn't have dug it up.
I'll let her off, but I'm still insulted. But being insulted is part of life.
I wont post her actual PM, but she did send me one saying she didnt actually mean that and just spoke in the heat of the moment, so dont be too insulted by it. We've all said things we dont mean when we're angry.
Indeed, it's unfortunate, but natural. It seems everyone's had a pretty short fuse lately, so let's try to avoid arguing as much as possible. I for one love everyone here, so please, no more fighting.
Where's lex0r's thresher maw? She is needed
I agree. We feed the heretics to a thresher maw.

Yeah. And the Salarian Union is splintering.
Which would be an interesting sub-plot in ME4. Side either with the Dalatrass or with the STG seperatists.
It's also one of the few things that really set up for future content (that I noticed). I'm actually quite surprised there wasn't a "Kill The Dalatrass" DLC, maybe have her team up with Xen to get rid of them both
Also, Kirrahe as the leader of the STG faction

Ditto, and one more: when the salarian councilor calls Shepard after curing the genophage, and implies he'd have Shepard killed if Shepard hadn't saved his life. Do the words "verbal ****slap" sound about right?

I've concluded something. There's a reason I hate Control and Synthesis. They will ultimately lead to stagnation. Without conflict, nothing changes. Remember what the Catalyst says? "But the Reapers will be destroyed?" "Yes, but the peace, won't last." That's not a bad thing. Conflict is not a bad thing. We're in some form of conflict every day of our lives. I don't mean war. War and conflict are two different things. War is bad. Conflict is not. And even war has a place, no matter how horrible it is. Would the world be a better place if the U.S. hadn't gone to war with Germany during WW2? I don't think so. That's ultimately the reason the Catalyst is wrong. He was created to end the conflict between organics and synthetics. That's impossible. There will ALWAYS be conflict, it doesn't matter whether it's between organics and synthetics, or just between organics. And if there WAS a way to end conflict, it wouldn't be right.
I agree with what you're saying but I think that Star Bieber was referring to the *inevitable* demise of organics in a conflict between organics and synthetics.
Consider, the outcomes of Control and Synthesis and you'll see that peace and lack of conflict isn't eternal there either:
Synthesis: a massive upgrade in tech and synthetic upgrades for synthetics. It's a new experience certainly but I can't see how a certain level of technology will prevent people from having conflict. Life is different but the underlying currents stay the same, if you get my meaning.
Control: I'm sure some will band together to resist the Reaptatorship. I mean, the galaxy just fought a war to be free from Reapers and now they're being told by the Reapers, "Yeah, we don't want to kill you anymore. As long as you do what we say." ...Yup that will go over well.
So in conclusion, I believe conflict is present in all 3 literal endings...the kid just messed up how it phrased its explanation... the devious little overlord
I agree with what you're saying. And I would like to add that I don't think organics would be destroyed by synthetics in Destroy. We're, shall we say, hard to get rid of, especially if Shepard is alive to make sure everything is alright. And if worst comes to worst, we can always build another Crucible.
There's always some way out. If some AIs get aggressive we will find a way to deal with them. And apparently, if we can survive long enough we will reach a state of synthesis anyway because it is inevitable, as Star Bieber says. Which would avert our *inevitable* demise.
Just another reason we don't need the kid running things. That's my biggest fear for literal Synthesis...that the Reaper overlord is alive and plotting another galactic experiment...

Easier then deciding whether or not to cure the genophage when Wrex and Eve are alive.
Well there are some ways of 'evening it up. Siding with the Dalatrass results in a swift resolution to the conflict, with minimal casualities (since STG are massively outnumbered). Siding with the STG results in a long draw out war that reduces the Union's overall strength.

I understand why Bioware went the way it did on this but there was so much potential for Cerberus that was never realized.
Imagine if the indoctrination hadn't been obvious (or there was no indoc at all) and Shepard could choose to ally with Cerberus ideals. Then come the end of the game...an epic choice between having to fight Anderson or TIM based on which side you endorsed.
Would have been great haha

Yeah, but that one you saw coming. Knowing what you do from Legion, it's obvious that Koris would be the good guy in 3 and Gerrel would be the villain. Besides, he's voiced by Simon Templeman. That alone says it all.

It would have been fun if the entire admiralty board was voiced by people who were in DA:O, and not just two of them.
