Was the Ending a Hallucination? - Indoctrination Theory Mark III!

I know there is a lot of stuff going on about Wintersun's starchild. At first, I refused to believe that because I was not ready to link one of my favourite band's actual art with the crappy ME3 ending (literalist interpretation). But I listened to my old CD's again today and paid attention to the Wintersun album's lyrics. Actually, Starchild is not the only song that sounds damn close to IT. Look at "Battle against time", track No.4 (Starchild is 6).
... I'm sailing away to undiscovered seas ...
I see a golden light shining far away
I can't tell if I'll make it there someday
I reach my hands but there's no one on my path
I can't sleep 'cause my body is burning
Cold sweat, cannot breath, I'm loosing my mind
Reflection in the mirror shows a different man at night
And as hours and seconds pass by
I feel my every feeling wither and die
Do I really feel this pain
'cause sometimes I can't tell if I'm awake
Watching to the night, the hope is gone
Carrying so much burden in my heart
Watching to the night with tired eyes
Waiting for nothing all my life
Battle against time
I... battle against time
I am covered with cold ice, I am flying in the black skies
Fighting everyday, but it feels like, it's just the same
Oh time... you cut my heart and soul
you carve my will and passion of life
'cause the days of emptiness are piercing through me like arrows
I feel nothing, but hate and love
So much fire inside, so much left undone
Hate&Love
... I'm sailing away and nothing will ever be the same ...
I highlighted only the parts of which I can make sense right now just after listening to it, and it's already quite a lot. I think it is pretty obvious to most of you guys what I am getting at, but before I explain, I would like to hear other thoughts. Do I have a point here?

Can we still discount that the actual Shadow Broker is Conrad Verner?
Funny that you mention Conrad Verner.
Conrad Verner is THE most Fourth Wall breaking thing in the entire Mass Effect universe.
You see - Conrad Verner - is the mirror. It is a imager of US, the player, as seen by the DEVS and the writers. Not US - the playaer who are commander shepard, but ACTUAL US the player, who sit at home, and plays Mass Effect because we want to expirience adventure and be commander Shepard.
Theres even a moment in ME3 when Conrad implies he has a dialogue wheel. He asks Shepard the same question twice in a row, then says he likes to ask all the questions he can think of, and sometimes forgets which ones he's asked.

there you have perfect forshadowing of the IT reveal. If Conrad Verner can have a happy ending - Shepard sure can and will have it too.
And what i find even more fitting is that only a completionist will get everything out of Conrad. Beside his survival beeing based on a ME1 decision, his asset also scales with the number of Matriarch writings from ME1 you found, up to 10. Getting those means you explored just about everything in ME1.
By the way - doesn't it seem strange to ANYONE - the ammount and complexity of differentials that went into Conrad's Verner story line?? Compared to the ending Shepard got and all?
He even apologises for accusing you of shooting him, when you didn't.

Good point. Way back, when lair of the shadow broker was released there was a theory that Hackett is the real head of cerberus. Even before Arrival.
I actually think that cerberus is in fact a triumvirate - just like the name suggests.
Omega DLC supports this version heavily. Petrovsky also seem to represent cerberus, but he doesn't seem to be in anyway conserned or simpathetic to what the Illusive man is doing - He basicly screams with all he does - the Illusive Man is not the boss of me.
That is why i think that there is MUCH more to cerberus that we know.
After all we do know that it started out as A SPLINTER BLACK OPS military group that went rouge. So - at one point they were very closely integrated into the alliance at the very top of the ranks - CIA level in fact.
them going rouge is like entire CIA suddenly deciding that they don't really want to answer to anyone, and they know how to do things best.
And the Key word here is actually MILITARY. Jack Harper was NEVER a military man. Not career military.
I think of him as of the person that controls cerberus R&D branch. (And yes, he is also a reaper.)
I would place Anderson as the more likely candiate then as he is seen meeting a Cerberus operative on the Citadel in a Shadow Broker video. Of course that is likely just a undercover agent or someone defecting, but who knows?

I agree. The rest of the game was just SO much better and deeper than the endings. That's probably the reason I really want IT to be true. The rest of the game and even the series gets branded as crap because of the endings. Everyone says BioWare sold out and dumbed down the series, this would prove them wrong.

Yup, that sums it up perfectly. This is just ridiculous. I mean come on, I'm sixteen, I've played Call of Duty, Bulletstorm, God of War, Gears of War, etc. and I have absolutely NO desire to go on a shooting spree. It's bad parenting or preexisting conditions that cause kids to become psychos, not video games.

yep. the cerberus being an idea statement TIM makes. a bit like a terrorist organisation. you have political, military, and logistical all rolled in there as well. Obviously TIM was an ideas man - but he was mainly involved in research and development / logistics wasn't he?. He sat on his arse a lot. Then look at military. Cerberus aquires state of the art weaponry and ships. They would need someone in earths military to ensure they got it all. Someone right at the very top who could cover tracks and oversee cerberus activities all at the same time. Someone who could keep an eye on Shepard. Someone who could help him while he was with cerberus without questions being asked.demersel wrote...

Nah, that meeting most certainly had to do with the kindapping of Kahlee Sanders.
Hackett is da man.
How would Illusive Man be ably to make EDI out of the remeains of that AI, If it was Hackett's top secret project in the first place? How would he know that the situation is resolved if Hackett, or people around Hackett isn't involved in any way?
The AI killed everyone on site. Shepard was asked to interfere personally by Hackett.
Only Shepard's team went in. Shepard reported the mission done personally to Hackett.
Also why didn't anybody ever wander why exaclty is THIS the mission that opens you up to a premium rank? ))

I get to the point where Conrad "saves" Shepard and does not die due to Jenna's intervention, then they leave.
Where/when are you able to have an actual conversation with Conrad? I cannot find him after his "bodyguard jump".

Of course it's not going to be all sad and tearful. If it's an IT reveal, we're going to be, to quote Kaidan in the Gamer Poop video, "Dancing in the streets, hugging and ****ing." OK, that last part might not be accurate, but the rest it is.
