Guys. Let's face it. IT is real. There is simply no chance at all that given the ammout, the complexity of scenes in the ending sequence - and the elements that are needed to bring those scenes to life, not to mention the ammount of work - that IT, or something like IT is not intended by the writers, developers and even publishers.
You just don't make something that makes sense of every single inconsistancy and weirdness among the three 100+ hours games filled with lore to the rim, BY ACCIDENT, not meaning to, at the same time as ****ing up your own story this bad at such a crucial point in it. THIS IS SIMPLY NOT POSSIBLE.
The ending is not real. It is fact. It is still happening, it is still very important, if anything it is THE MOST important stuff that happens among the three games, but it is only happenning in Shepard's head.
And it doesn't matter if we get any more of the story in the form of DLC (which we will), or in a form of another full Mass Effect game (which we will!!!!) - or not at all (possible, but extremely unlikely - like it or not more Mass Effect IS happening. That is fact).
This is the ending. This is a beautifull ending. Really, a work of art. No sarcasm.
Hear me out on this.
Let's assume for a moment that you agree with me that IT is 100% true. That means it is all a hallucination. That means that after shooting that tube, shepard wakes up in the rubble and finds out that the fight is still very much goes on. Now tell me, with a straight face, that you have ANY doubt, that if Shepard can wake up at all, alive, and resume the fight, with entire galaxy already in the fight, with every possible ally, with all your squad's resolve unquestionable - is there ANY doubt that eventually (and relatively, very soon) - the will kill all the reapers, with their bare hands is they have to? If Shepard can survive THAT, come back from THAT, PREVAIL in THAT - there is nothing that can stop him. NOTHING.
I'm convinced that all the evidence is skeletal remains of the indoctrination sequence that was supposed to be in but they couldn't get to work due to technical reasons. That said they didn't take it out and choosing to interpret it as still being indoctrination is more consistent than a literal interpretation imo, I just don't think DLC is coming to prove it right. Well this and that Casey Hudson was playing too much Deus Ex when making the ending judging by his tweets.
