What's the status of the Infrasound discovery? Did anyone check any other scenes for infrasound? I am curious about the scenes with vent boy, particularly when he's playing in the roof garden, before the Reapers arrive. Any infrasound there?
Mike Gamble wants to tell emotionally engaging stories regardless of if they take place after ME3 or not. True Story.
Oh Mike, you tease!
Obviously this statement goes against Mac Walters statements from another interview that "This is it". Having said that, it seems to be too well in our favor. It must be interpretable in another way, otherwise this is the first instance where Bioware says that there is a possibility for post-ending content.
It is certainly weird, but more interesting if you note that he was not at all prompted to say that. What I mean is the interviewer didn't say "Does this occur after ME3?" or anything. Like when BW themselves said there will be no "ABC" endings. It wasn't the interviewer that said that; it was BW's suggestion alone.
Something interesting I found yesterday. It seems that in Leviathan we will be seeing a lot of the enemies from ME2.
Paragon play through that Destroyed the Collector base. skip to 2:40
Okay this was the first Conversation we have with TIM, and I like to point out, that when Shepard says " You turned your people into monster", but TIM says " Hardly they are being improved" sounds like synthesis to me being improved, with Reaper tech, and they are Organic, so Synthesis. Also TIM points out " i see a way to Dominate, to Harness the Reapers power. Well remember the words of Renegade Shepard at the end of ME2. " You start carving for power, .start being selfish, then we are all pay the price."
The next video is the with no Renegade, or Paragon action video of Shepard and TIM, at Mars. skip to 3:57
Notice, how Liara reacts to TIM, it's weird because Liara always just says TIM on Paragon, or Renegade play through's but this one does not. Interesting, and what TIM says to Shepard, and Liara is very interesting.
Liara: "TIM now we know why Cerberus is here." TIM: " You don't know the half of it.The Protheans left us these archives, along worth a wealth of information, and has been squandered."
I like it that TIM get's defensive with non Renegade Shepard/Paragon Shepard. Now when Shepard tells TIM that " Earth is under siege and your planing a scam to Control the Reapers." Tim says" You seem surprised. My goal has been, and will always be, to use whatever means I have at my disposable. To protect humanity." then Shepard says " The Reapers are not a means to an end." Then TIM says "not to you."
wow i never knew about that, and i am wondering what other changes there are with non Para/Rene in the chats.
Now this is the Renegade Shepard, that kept the Collector base.
I like it how TIM says "anyone can Destroy, but Great civilizations do more." And some of the dialogue is missing, but I will try to find another video of this same play through. other than that It's interesting that TIM is saying anyone can destroy, but greater civilizations do more, sounds like Synthesis, " EDi: We can achieve a new level of Civilizations, and even transcended mortality it's self.
I will try to find more mars playthroughs that have diffrent out comes from ME2, but for now I am taking a break for finding more videos on the first incounter with TIm, and now going to the seconed incounter.

Why does anyone think that the catalyst is real? Shepard can't be the next catalyst because there is no catalyst. Indoctrination changes your own mind/brain. It's implied that the catalyst is Shepard's own mind because the kid's voice has your voice's echo.
Exactly.
Looks like Earth kid, talks with Shepard's voice.
It's just in your head.
We all know it, it's just that the EC indoctrination is so strong that we tend to forget. xD

You want to know who the catalyst is? He's the guy to the left, it's Shepard.
*snip*
All the catalyst is the indoctrinated part of Shepard's mind trying to be a catalyst or a change agent to get the last remnants of what's left of Shepard's free mind to give up. Shepard is fighting his own imagination/rationalization. Edit: That's the reason they included the above scene.
Wow, ok. Makes sense. So both, the kid and Mr. Sparkles aren't hallucinations caused directly by the Reapers but the part of Shepard's mind that is affected by the ongoing indoc.? So the only enemy is the Reapers and indoc. nothing more...
Then it would really make sense for the Leviathan not mentioning the Catalyst but only clarify the theory behind indoctrination to later, at the end, make it easier to spot it.
I think the point of seeing Shepard's double unarmed and without armor and the starkid standing next to you is an implication that the starchild (or your indoctrinated mind) wants you domesticated and defanged, the ideal Shepard for the reapers... that's why you drop the gun in both synthesis and control.

So speaking from that 1M1 Synthesis thing, I found another instance of this during the Overlord DLC for Mass Effect 2.
Whoa, nice find! Where in the mission do you find this?
I'm in the middle of a new playthrough of ME2 myself, so I'll have to watch for that when I do Overlord.
An M1 reference in the DLC about a catastrophic attempt at Synthesis as a means of Control? Curiouser and curiouser. I think we can put 1M1 back on the speculation table. The question though would be, what does it mean?

Don't forget the eyes. Bioware never talked about the eyes at all in Control, and Sythesis. It's like you sold Shepard to the Reapers, and can now do what ever they want with Shepard.

This is the scene where Shepard survives the pieces from Sovereign. And look at 7:33 keep watching and look at Shepard's left arm. Look where the hand is.
Now tell me Shepard does cover this same spot when Shepard is holding his/her side, where a gun shot is present.
From video 2 at the end of ME2 Shepard tells TIM that if " You start being selfish, dreaming about power, and we will all pay the price." Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't TIM crave power, and lead him to believe that he can Control the Reapers, and we did pay the price because he got corrupted by the lust of power to Control the Reapers.
Now in Video 3 Saren is telling Shepard that what he is doing is to save everyone in the galaxy, by helping the Reapers, which Shepard can do at the end of ME3 Synthesis. Now when Shepard ask do you expect the Reapers will let us live, Saren tells Shepard " .....We Organics are driven by emotion instead of logic, and we will fight even though we can not win, but if we work with the Reapers. Make our self useful. Think how many lives can be spared." Synthesis, and Control spare everyone's lives. Then Shepard tells Saren" You are afraid Sovereign is Controlling you. You are afraid he is Controlling your thoughts."well isn't that the same boat we are in at the ending. We are afraid that the Catalyst is Contriving us to pick his choices he likes, and we begin to question maybe the Catalyst is right. Then Saren tells Shepard that " I've studied the affect of Indoctrination. The more Control Sovereign exerts, The less capable the subject becomes......Sovereign needs me to find the Conduit. my mind is still my own for now.The transformation between ally to servant can be unsettling. I will not let that happen to me"
One the Catalyst needs Shepard to find a NEW Solution, and Shepard's mind is still our own for now, until you pick Control, and Synthesis. And we serve the Reapers in Control, and Synthesis because we are not their ally's, but we serve them in the end.
Then Shepard tells Saren "Sovereign is manipulating you, and you don"t even now it"
The Catalyst try's to manipulate both Shepard, and the player, into agreeing with his logic.
then Saren says " NO Sovereign needs me. If I find the Conduit I HAVE BEEN PROMISED TO BE FREE FROM THE INEVITABLE.THIS IS MY ONLY HOPE"
The Catalyst promises that the cycle will end in Synthesis.
Then after Shepard tells Saren that he is a Specter Saren tells Shepard" my way is the ONLY WAY any of us will survive. I am forging an alliance between us and the Reapers between ORGANICS AN MACHINES, and in doing so I WILL SAVE more LIVES than ever existed.
Now didn't the Catalyst say that this is the only way we can find peace. Where organics and machines can live together, and he promises that Shepard will save everyone, by offering his choice.
Also I forgot that Saren say the exact same thing that TIMS says.
Saren" You will undo all that I have accomplished"
TIM:" You will undo all of my work."
in Video 4 renegade Shepard tells Saren you could have fought. You could have resisted.Instead you surrendered. You quit. Somkingotter took the words right out of my mouth,
"I like how ME1 Renegade Shepard outlines the choices you have at the end of ME3
You could have fought: destroy You could have resisted: control Instead you surrendered: synthesis You quit: refuse"
Wanted to bring this back up.

masster, be careful when using direct quotes. You are using quotation marks to attribute dialogue to a character but are clearly misquoting them. That is sort of a no-no. Try to be accurate because in the case of IT, every specific word is sort of important.

1M1 appears on the antennas around the citadel right? That's where it's from?
Citadel as an indoctrination device/reaper trap... implications... intriguing...

Bumpity bump!
Haven't had time to check. However I'll be back home with all my audio gear next week so can have a look then if Leviathan's not already announced by then.

I Posted about this exact comparison with my very first ever post on these forums:
Yes, the sophistry is clearly in both scenes. Good thing it didn't work on me.
Also,
It's interesting how similar the two are though... The same AI presence with extremely morally warped but also logical motivations... Also throughout ME2 you were trying to get to "the source" that just turned out to be a trap (as I believe the crucible will be in ME3).
And then there's the quote from the matrix just after that scene...
"It was a lie, Morpheus. The prophecy was a lie. The one was never meant to end anything. It was all another system of control."
Change "Morpheus" to "Anderson" and "One" to "Crucible" and I think we have a potential scene for ME3

okay I will go back and try to look at Synthesis, and the videos again, okay Fellish.

Or just say you are paraphrasing. Then it's okay for the most part.

Don't forget the eyes. Bioware never talked about the eyes at all in Control, and Sythesis.
I wonder if the eyes are also symbolic of a reaper overlay. Seeing the universe through a reaper filter.... much like the decision chamber/reality. With reaper goggles reality must look so... perfect. Seriously though reality looks really clean with the overlay, no pesky corpses lying around.
So I guess everyone is asleep. Well in 5 hours I will have my new post up about TIM, and Shepard Conversations for Paragon, and Renegade.
Also Hanar it's funny how in Renegade Shepard in ME2 said "You start being selfish, dreaming about power, and we will all pay the price."
Well his lust to help humanity serpase the other races back fired.
And my post about TiM, was also explaing why Cerberus isn't fleshed out in ME3 because you were suppose to read the Codexes, and the comics. To understand how Cerberus came to be in ME3. Also was hinting about a more fleshed out Omega dlc, and who was Controlling who.
Think about it some people at Cerberus we afriad that the Reapers would take Control of Cerberus troop personal, but TIM was Confident that he cab Control them. So were the Reapers Controlling TIMs forces and have TIM that he can Control his troops, and the Reapers, so that the Reapers can show Shepard/ the player that they can be Controled.
Which put's this into mind. Why did the Reapers wanted to show Shepard that he can Control the Reapers. Because TIM was Indoctrinated and even though his mind was still his ownish, he was under the influence that he can Control the Reapers.
One who gave him the idea he can Control the Reapers, and two why is it that all of a sudden Sanctuary is attacked when Shepard arrives there. I now that "Well the Reapers saw Control resarch as a threat, and went to go stop it, but at the end they are open to the option to let them Control the Reapers.
Also isn't it weird that Control, and Destroy are on the Citadel. You could say that " one of the cycles put that there, or the Reaper creators/ the Catalyst, but the Reapers/ the Catalyst would have discovered this plan, when they take all thw information on this cycle and download all the data into the Reapers, to help them against the cycles.
since everyone was not here I wanted to bring this back up.

Reality: messy, corpses, a real drag
Reaper goggles: ah much better, nice and clean
very interesting Otter, will have to look further into that.

Just noticed this...hey Shepard's facial markings for both control and synthesis energy are the same! Squared a couple of places for reference
I thought synthesis and control were supposed to be different:P (not really), yet the energy from both still change Shepard's face the exact same way except for the color.
It's almost as if Mac and Casey were trying to tell us something.

Yes, and how both have the same body tansformation. So maybe they did.
