These seem to be all the ME3 news but idk which ones are regular news and which ones are Spectre office news

edit:

If Kahje is not saved: "The hanar homeworld, Kahje, fell to
Reaper forces after religious extremists disabled the world's orbital
defenses. There were no survivors."

I'm sure that in the end it'll be the same as Anderson's line. If you did Arrival, it'll Object Rho that indoctrinated Shepard (or tried). If not, it'll be "all the Reaper tech you've been around."

As for Arcturus Station, that's a good point except it would've been a lot harder to explain away how Shepard got away. AS was destroyed by Reaper capital ships right out of the gate. Being a space station, that just leaves everyone with unforgiving vacuum of space. Hell, it'd be hard just to believe the Normandy was being retrofitted at AS rather than on Earth.

You know, it would have been interesting to start at Arcturus Station.  Would have been a lot like ME2 in a way, you have to escape the station as its being attacked.  You get to see Hacket make the hard choice to leave an entire fleet to die to allow the rest to escape, and Shepard, Anderson and Vega manage to get to a ship and rush to warn Earth about the attack.

You arrive in the Sol system, Earth's govenments are panicing at the loss of communication with Arcturus and riots are breaking out all over the planet after rumours about the Reaper invasion is spreading.  You split up, Anderson going to Earth to help regain some control over the situation, and Shepard goes to Mars to investigate rumours of Cerberus activity there.

The Normandy only arrives to rescue Shepard from Mars, and you find out that the Reapers are arriving and there's no time to evacuate anyone else from Earth so the Normandy is forced to flee.

But we got what we got.  And without that there's no child to annoy us and make us wonder if its all real.

So much for preserving life, eh?

The Hanar are hardly even a threat to the Reapers.  It suprises me that they are even capable of building spaceships!

It surprises me that they are capable of building complex machines at all, maybe they command giant fish swarms to work for them :wizard:

Thanks, but its pretty much self-explainitory.

They could have even put in a real crippling blow to Shepard's morale at that point, where the Normandy comes into Vancouver as the Reapers are landing and you get to see the city being demolished and people being rounded up and taken away.  Shepard tries to get Anderson and the senior Alliance brass to get on the ship and retreat to the Citadel, but Anderson refuses and says he's needed here (and the other officers agree and stay too).  Then Shepard is forced to leave to get more help for the fight.

Could even have that scene with the kid's death.  Just because.

The whole feel of the game could be changed subtly.  I'd probably even have the Citadel captured slightly earlier, and make it so only the Normandy could use the Relays (due to the IFF) until the technology could be duplicated and disturbed to the strike fleet that attacks Earth (this would tie up the question as to why the Reapers left the Sol relay open...).

The Crucible could be figured out to be a key to the Citadel, that powers it and opens all the Relays - including the one built inside it that links to Dark Space.  After a bloody fight, the Crucible docks with the Citadel and all the Relays open and the entire might of the Galaxy hammers down onto the Reapers in a single engagement.

Faced with overwhelming numbers, something the Reapers always tried to avoid (due to closing the relays and fighting their enemies piecemeal while they have the numbers advantage), they flee through the Citadel Relay and seal it behind them (and all other Reapers in the galaxy begin to flee as well).

A plausible way of winning.  The Reapers aren't destroyed, but they are beaten back and flee the Galaxy to fight another time.

Anyone know what those news on spectre offices say? They seem to pop rather randomly and without subtitles.

The voice reading them is computerized (Reaperized?) so it might be a subliminal manipulation technique. Posted ImagePosted Image

How would anyone know if they survived or not.
Besides this is ridiculous, an entire population of Hanar and drell dying that fast is ridiculous.

It's common when technology and biology evolves that previous concepts are scrapped.

Yes, concepts that become less useful/redundant. The illusions the Reapers can project would be more than invaluable in indoctrinating subjects...so you're still making more of a leap than us.

Not really. Reactions to hallucinations are too unpredictable. Just changing the chemical composition to make the subject fall in line is much saver. Though that's why the thralls have some sort of expiration date, the more is changed the less autonomous they get. Though the Reapers don't really care about that.

So you're completely guessing and using these guesses to try and explain how we're wrong...whilst we're using correlation? smh

Correlation? Again Reaper induced hallucinations are shown in multiple instances and were never as coherent, why are they suddenly? Your explanations are as much guesses as mine, but just look at Virmire etc, the Reapers give a frak about about it as long as they still can fulfill their purpose "Sovereign has implanted me to strengthen my resolve", and Retribution shows they are perfectly fine to make a coherent lie on their own.
I sure I will encounter quite some opposition now but:
That's also shown in TIM. He's just completely different at first compared to his last scenes. Even if he could feel where the monolith was in the comic, he was never compelled to protect it. These and other actions just make no sense at all if he were indoctrinated at that point. It's only ME3 where his actions began to become seemingly erratic. He also used quite some resources to bring Grayson down, also it's described as the Reapers use Grayson like Saren to familiarize themselves with the tech and layout of where he is, even the Cerberus base. Why would they need to do that if TIM was indeed indoctrinated? Like with the hallucinations we know of to be happening it doesn't add up.

I say if you didn't get Arrival then you shouldn't be able to import into ME3 because the Reapers invaded and killed everyone already Posted Image And Liara gets killed by the Shadow Broker, etc.

Okay, I'm really going now.

I don't think they could've/should've done that since Arrival was a DLC.  With a price tag.  But they shouldn't have acted as if Shepard never did it if it's canon, which it certainly seems to be judging from the other media.

The funny thing is that I bought Arrival and got the mission from Hackett.  I just never did it, since my Shepard is insanely paranoid.  Must be all those voices he hears.

Edit:Hey Rif you have a much better grasp on the extended Mass Effect universe than me, does anyone other than Liara do anything that's actually useful between Arrival and the beginning of ME3?

She just plays Shadow Broker and looks for something to help against the Reapers.  Glyph leads to the Mars archives and the Crucible.  Which is one of the reasons many of us are suspicious of Glyph.

Completely untrue. She checked Thessia again, where an Asari commented she should check Kahje, where the Archive data lead her to Mars. Read her Homeworlds comic.

K thanks, that's about what I'd heard. Didn't know the bit about Vega, makes me like him a bit more.

Yeah, it's cool, but more importantly it shows Arrival is canon. Again.

They also show letting the Council die is "canon". It's still not needed for the story.

Maybe.  Though honestly the background and universe is so rich that it can write itself.  Moreso then Star Trek or Star Wars, I'd say (which is probably heresy, but whatever).

Besides, retrospect is an amazing tool.  Just like when I redesigned the entire Dragon Soul raid for World of Warcraft - without the initial raid there (with all its cool ideas and flaws) I'd not have had any idea where to start.

Even if I'm impressed with myself with how I redesigned Morchok the Stone Elemental, changing him into a 'collosus' style fight where he's mostly ignoring you as he's slowly walking towards his target - the Wyrmrest Temple - and the entire raid is trying to slow him down, and slowly tearing him to pieces and each piece forming a smaller version of him that attacks the raid.  All while trying to avoid his huge stamping footsteps.

Much better then the hilariously easy boss that we got instead...

Don't know for ST (never watched), but ME definitely rivals SW imo
If DA rivals LotR is a matter for debate though

*the rest*

I know Shadow of the Colossus, but I never played/had any interest in WoW and thus have no idea what you're talking about, sorry

DAMN YOU!!!! i never even once thought about googlimg up hanar tentacles before you told us not to.
Seriously though, people are f**king sick. Asari/Hanar porn pictures?

But one image was sweet, fan art of how a drell/hanar-reaper might have looked like...really good IMO. Would have made a great enemy type.
