Just wanted to post an idea that just hit me that i have not seen posted before.

If we assume that everything after the transport crash before the beam is an illusion created by harbinger, and also assume that Shepard's crew were not really evacuated( seeing as they were not there to begin with, it being an illusion and all) ; Shepard shoots 3 husks and 1 marauder. we know that indoctrination makes us believe that the reapers are good but what if in the case of Shepard they tried something different? what if your friends and loved ones are trying to stop you from entering the beam and in your current state you are seeing them as reaper forces? for instance the 3 husks could be the 2 squad mates you chose to bring with you plus your love interest. and the marauder could be Anderson. what do you guys think? am i crazy? or is this plausible?

There's no way to tell. It would be extremely cruel on Bioware's part.

*Bane voice* It would be extremely painful... for you. *End Bane voice*

More likely to be the 2 squaddies, Coates, and Anderson. Still what about the random marines? What about the scenes afterwards?

I'm not saying it's likely.  What I'm just speculating about what it would be like if they did it that way.  Please don't always point out when something is unlikely when it's fairly clear that we're talking purely in hypotheticals.  It doesn't bother me very much, it's just that I know it causes others to become... restless.

Do you people sleep?

Yes. We take shifts, and have a four -hour sleep brake.

Also, there is such a thing as time zones, you know.

That's right - the Indoctrination Theory is a GLOBAL PHENOMENOM.

Some of us don't sleep. Ever watchful.

She's trying to argue there couldn't have been a hallucination because "we haven't seen them before" when we have...

...now she's changed it to "we haven't seen them like this before"...It's like a never-ending cycle,

But it's true, we HAVEN'T seen hallucinations just like the one at the ending.  I don't think that means it's impossible, but she is right about that.

Noone is saying she's not. We're saying it's more than likely the Reapers improved upon the Leviathan's illusions when they "perfected" enthrallment. That makes total sense, and that's the debate.

If true, why was it never once applied before?

Because we've only been subjected to it once. We play through Shepard's eyes and he's not going to see if every Tom, Dick and Harry suffers these hallucinations. The facts are the Reapers can cause hallucinations, Leviathans can cause interactive hallucinations and the inferrence is that the PERFECTED ENTHRALLMENT can cause interactive hallucinations as well. What can't you understand? It's starting to get boring again

This, it's a ****ing theory. If everything was nailed down it wouldn't be a theory, it would be fact. So can you please stop being so ****ing annoying

Now now, no need to get hostile.  She's just pointing something out.  And I was wrong to put it this way.  She explained what she meant in Origin chat, and I was wrong to post this.  She was genuinely wanting to know what effect that might have on the scenes that come afterwards.

Which wasn't the purpose at all. I actually made a suggestion that in my opinion fits better then magically having the LI appear if he/she's still at the FoB, and then followed up with sincere questions about where this line of thought should lead.
I'm not trying to tear everything down, even if some want to think about me that way >.>

Stop pointing out any little detail when everyone knows we're talking in hypotheticals a lot of the time. You gave one good reason yourself a few posts ago. We tell her again and again. Not our fault she doesn't listen.

Why are you her bodyguard now?

Your line of reasoning doesn't fit at all what just happened, I said something doesn't fit very well, I suggested a fix, then I asked a question where it leads. Nothing here that diminishes "talking in hypotheticals".
I also never once questioned if it were applicable in the first place.

Because I've spent a fair amount of time talking to her via Origin and she's actually very awesome.  And little details are all that's left to talk about, honestly.  You know, unless anyone wants to talk about the literal endings, which she and I have also been doing.

Nice weighting the question. You know what I meant as we've told you again and again. Act ignorant again and play the victim. It's not really possible to have a discussion with you on this thread when you completely and utterly disallow any kind of chat about a topic without demanding exact proof and then claiming we're not doing it right if we don't express anything we say as an academic write up.

You don't go into literal threads and do this to them, so why torture us with this tedious bull****? It's hypocritical considering they're two "just as valid" interpretations and possibilities.

Errrr....why don't you read back what Dwailing said about "picking out every little hypothetical piece of information" and then my "Yeah stop doing that" and even if it doesn't fit in this exact situation - You still need to stop doing that.

Well, to get on topic, assuming the Husks and Shields are squadmates, Coates, and Anderson, that might suggest that the randoms marines are actually dead husks, and that the scene afterwards are all some kind of hallucination more in line with something like Deception Theory (That just made me miss Davik Kang. :crying:).

But we do the exact same thing in our spare time.  We discuss the endings, the elements of them, the questions they raise, and the possibilities that come with them.  You're the one who's attacking her every time she says something.

No. Don't ****ing turn this on me. We were debating for hours without this, then you've come in, I tried explaining what the debate was about and this has started.

Maybe if she did what you two do on Origin, in this thread she'd be better appreciated, but she clearly doesn't. Take off your rose-tinted goggles, mate.
