Question: can Shepard wake up after Refuse?,
since he doesn´t take any of the choices, ergo not thrusting the catalyst
just curious

General consensus is no, Shepard's mind is either fried, or stuck in limbo, as the closing shot of Refuse suggests.

Edit: From my Destroy thread, Jade tried claiming this was opinion:

If you play the game from a literal perspective, then everything happens as you see it, even Synthesis. So if you don't want Synthesis, the so-called best (but disgusting) one, pick Control, and if you don't like the idea of the Reapers becoming Space Big Brother, then pick Destroy. Refuse is just plain worse than Destroy, in literally every single way possible.

If you play the game from an IT perspective, then Destroy isn't one of the kid's choices. The choices are just metaphors for Shepard's possible goal: destroying the Reapers, attempting to control them, or adopting their methods and goals as your own. Every single Shepard, not matter how you play yours, enters the room wanting to destroy the Reapers, and since they're just representations of possible goals, and that is Shepard's goal, it has to exist. All the kid can do is tell you you shouldn't do it and that it's bad, but he cannot make it go away.

So, in either case, there's no reason to pick Refuse. The only actual reasons are to say FU to Bioware/the kid/the end/whatever, but those are meta reasons and have nothing to do with the actual narrative.

I think, of the music for the four different endings, I like the control music the best. The destroy music is close behind, though.

Destroy is the only one that is both consistent and victorious.

I just played the Cerberus Abductions mission on Benning and some thing hit me.

Hackett mentions how he thinks that the Cerberus soldiers are rogue. And then it hit me, combine this with the video log of TIM describing how he is keeping all those new "recruits" under Control. The Reapers managed to "hack" into Cerberus Control signals, I'm guessing similarly to how Cerberus managed to control reaper forces.

This leads me to believe that over the course of the game, more and more Cerberus soldiers are being I doctrinal end by the Reapers. Eventually culminating with TIM being indoctrinated.

Thoughts?

No one, were they in Shepard's position in real life, would ever actually pick refuse. Refusers have the benefit of knowing they're playing a video game. If refusers insist they would pick refuse even in real life, I'm just thankful they arent in positions of authority.

So the Reapers, instead of manipulating TIM, slowly ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL over Cerberus's people and operations? That seems likely to me.

Repost of this. A while ago I showed my dad the four EC ending tracks without context, and had him tell me words that came to mind, this is the result.

I won't post the links or anytihng (I'm trying to advance my playthrough :P) but I showed him some others, and really, he's perfect with them.

An End Once And For All (Always found that title ironic): An end, but a begining at the same time. Building up to something.

Spectre Induction: A ceremony.

The Swath (Holding out music in Vancouver and London): Can't remember his exact words, but to the effect of well, holding out. Covering fire etc.

The Beam Run: Semi-conscious.

Wow.

I'm with Byne on this Control's music is the coolest. Creepy and ominous for sure, but as music I like it the best. Destroy seems victorious, but barely.

. It also explains why TIM is able to combat the Reapers until the end of ME3.

They are already indoctrinated by proxy, so they are effectively already doing that.
