Was the Ending a Hallucination? - Indoctrination Theory Mark III!

DLC is a secondary product. Its market will never be larger than the primary product (ME3 obviously). Consider that only X% of the people that own ME3 will buy DLC. We'll be generous and say 75%.
Next, consider how many people:
1. Imported a game from ME2
2. Have the appropriate character(s) alive
3. Romanced them
4. Care enough about romance to buy a DLC for it
Let's be generous again and say that all four of these criteria apply to two-thirds of the people that buy DLC, making the total market for this DLC 50% of the total number of people that own ME3. Now, consider the profit margin for DLC. I can't be sure, but I doubt it is especially high as it is a secondary product and players get really pissed if you charge too much for DLC (such as Omega). Let's say the profit margin on a typical DLC is 50%. Cut the purchases down by a third, and suddenly you are barely breaking even. Also consider that the last DLC was not particularly well-received, and the bottom line looks even worse.

I actually wouldn't be suprised if EA approved such a thing. They know that the entire IT group plays ME3, and they know that a large percentage of people want a "new" ending, so logically the creation of it(heh pun) would be profitable for them.draconian139 wrote...
lol, fair point in the artistic integrity line. If they do put out IT DLC I'll be shocked that EA allowed it, completely ecstatic, and all future Bioware games will become preorder purchases for the next decade to me. That said the DLC is completely unnecessary for it to make sense as is.
Hi, everyone. Have I missed anything good today?

We don't need an IT DLC, as everything to do with that is in the game, ending with the breath scene. We need a post-breath scene DLC that wraps the story up, though this probably just be being picky with your wording.
Also, it's in Bioware (and EA)'s best interest to release such content, not bad for them at all.
-Leave ME3 as is, with it being infamous for a terrible, terrible ending (in most people's eyes, hell, there was a BBC story about it!) and have very little interest in any more Mass Effect content or games, and pretty much kill the franchise. Make no additional money, and very little in the long term, if any.
-Have an IT reveal, making ME3 one of the greatest mind games ever done in fiction, receiving worldwide attention and praise, and elevating Bioware's reputation to being one of the greatest game developers of all time. Sales of current Mass Effect games and DLC soar, and huge excitment is generated for future content and game. And lots of money for EA for a long time.

We thought your endings were so retarded they weren't real. Quite the backhanded compliment if the endings are literal.

We're not a particularly large group though.

Regulars on this thread? No, not really. But if you include all the lurkers, of which I'm pretty sure there are a lot (but can't know
Really, the only people who wouldn't like it are the few stuck up haters like Hanar, and they're a small group.
@Spotless
I was out at the restaurant White Spot last night, and a lot of the things on the menu were labelled as "Spot's *insert food*", and it made me really sad

I didn't really. It's an IT video, but not like Acavyos' video. It's mostly about the continuity of themes, and foreshadowing like Blur's signature. What if Shepard wasn't alone at the citadel? How would things have been different? etc. I have a few ideas for visual tricks tooLDS Darth Revan wrote...

Bioware is coming back tomorrow, so sadly IT hasn't been confirmed yet. I read your Synthesis Deconstructed thread and found it very interesting, so good work. I'm glad you are back, I enjoyed your imput and it seemed strange without you here.spotlessvoid wrote...
I'm all paranoid about skipping so many pages. IT was probably confirmed or something else awesome happened and I missed it while sulking in the proverbial corner. Did work on a wall of text that would use up hrothdanes entire red ink supply and realized I love you guys too much to pout forever.
And hi to all of you!

That's good because I don't have any red pens at the moment
Glad to see you back. You did not miss much. Rif got a 24 ban a couple days ago for calling megumi "thread cancer" and hasn't come back yet. Lots of dicussion about what the next DLC might contain, etc....

He got a 24 hour ban from being mean to Megumi, so he said he doesn't want to deal with it anymore. Hopefully with you back, he will return as well.spotlessvoid wrote...

Banned for 24 hours for fighting with Megumi, but then decided to stay away for a bit, I'm sure he'll be back at some point though.
Sadly, while there have been a few good things you've missed, there's been far more fighting than anything else.
Also, I'm free now, so you can change your signature, as hilarious as it is
