also.... fwiw (although nobody will probably take any notice) We assume Shep is indoctrinated and everything happening around him is a result of this, but then assume the choices presented are literal choices? That does not make any sense. surely the choices would also be misleading?

He's not indoctrinated.

then everything happening around him should be literal?  can't have it both ways.  he either is or isnt.

How much do you need to drink before you start seeing things and are unable to stand straight? One drop?

No, its an indoctrination attempt and is how his mind is making sense of it.  If he was indoctrinated he would have already killed Hackett or something.

but IT says shep is in an illusionary mind battle with a reaper, and then you have to make a literal choice at the end?  seriously?

Back later... speculations.

That's not how indoctrination works. Shepard is undergoing the process of indoctrination, but is not indoctrinated. It's the difference between dying and being dead.

We might as well replace every use of the word "indoctrination" with "brainwashing", because they really are identical. It too is a process, but there comes a point, an infinitely small point in time, where you finally snap and become indoctrinated/brainwashed.

It is not literal. It doesn't do what it says it would do. Destroy doesn't destroy all the reapers in the universe, Control doesn't turn you into the Guardian. controlling all the reapers, Synthesis doesn't  fuse everyliving thing in the universe with tech, even refuse is not doing nothing, while standing and watching the galaxy to die (as much as you'd want that, but sadly, no it isn't). What literal is there about any of those???

Uhhuuu,

I don't if it is legit... but..
Manveer Heir ‏@[/s]manveerheir[/b][/b]2013
will be a big year of dev on the new Mass Effect. I only know the game
today will be very different than the game a year later #[/s]Excited[/b]

EDIT - There's this as well:

Sascha Dikiciyan ‏@[/s]sonicmayhem[/b][/b]Back to work on the last #[/s]ME3DLC[/b]. Trying out some new toys!

Speculate! Echh, I have enough of this...

EDIT: Just check the The Twitter Thread (ME3 DLC Edition) thread

One last thing: Destroy is the "practical" correct choice, but Refuse is the "thematic" correct choice. Personally, I think thematic stuff would be more important when facing down the Reapers in a battle in the mind.

I like this comparison. I agree.

dorktainian wrote...
I'm saying that any of the options could
be correct (bar synthesis)....we do not know. valid reasons and excuses
can be made for any of the endings...  People say Shep dies in
Refuse.....but do we see him die?  The last time we see him is when
everything goes quiet on the citadel after the beam is turned off.
Destroy has Shep in the rubble taking his breath.  This should be a
good thing right?  We don't know.  We have no answers....only guesswork.
It's all speculation.  How is one piece of speculation better than
another?  they are both.......speculation.

And that's also a thing that keeps me hanging on to Refuse: it's rediculously presented outcome:
Oh you don't want to play? Ok, you lose. N...No...No, you lose. Bye.

I get that the devs didn't have an infinit amount of time for the EC, but coming up with an extra ending without taking the time to present it properly with all the cinematics of a failure can't be explained. So I find that unlikely.

Isn't it a genius move by the reaper
leader to present an option to destroy them (as you insist he does) as
one of HIS options? Knowing that you might not trust anything he says at
all and veiw everything he proposes as a trap? )))

You're like suspecting someone to be a tripple agent without even knowing for sure whether he's a double agent.

Exactly. Only that is your reasoning for refuse.

"Back to work on the last #ME3DLC. Trying out some new toys!"

What I'm taking from this:
They're already working on the last DLC.Ok, not necessarily the last as in final.
The usual DLC composers are working on it.

However, if this is the same DLC Sam Hulick was tweeting about (he used the same hashtag) then this might mean that they got almost the whole team working on the big DLC.

Too many speculations!

edit: already posted by McGrzegorz.

"Ok, lets try this again. Work on LATEST #ME3DLC continues. That make sense? ;)"

There we go. But could this be the same DLC Sam's working on?

"What if I forgot how to design video games while I've been away?! Kidding! We all know designers don't know **** & make it all up as we go."

Obviously sarcastic. This was immediately after his post about ME being very different a year from now.

I don't know if this is relevant or not but anyway..

The Beam that transports us up to the Citadel.... we have seen it before. (We didn't use it however)
I'm playing the trilogy through completionistically and during the Project Firewalker missions I spotted this thing.
It's in the Geth Incursions mission. Looking at the construct below it,it's definitely not Reaper tech.

I know grasping at straws..

I mean its still a good sign. ME4 wont have much of a conflict if the endings are literal.

I'm still assuming that ME4 will be a prequel...which I have very little interest in unless its during the Rachni wars.
