What are you doing up so high?! Come down from there!
On topic: Every time Shepard is kneeling it is always a forced kneel. Either Shepard is hurt and needs to take a rest, or got hit with something ETC. Each of these situations have been forced. "Viewing the reapers with superstitious awe" would imply that the view is not 100% forced. But indoctrination FORCES the person to change their views to that of the reapers. This would be more symbolism because Shepard is being forced to kneel (obey the reapers).
After Shepard gets up after getting shot by Harbinger, he/she falls down again in a kneeling position. If Shepard didn't get up there then the indoctrination attempt would have succeeded, not getting back up would symbolize Shepard giving up and letting the reapers take over. But, Shepard continues to resist and gets up again and again from this kneeling position during the ending. This is a small bit of evidence hinting towards the fact that there is some resistance going on in this scene. "Resistance to what? There is nothing to resist in this scene." - Literalist. But there is something for Shepard to resist. Shepard is resisting the hold of indoctrination.
