Yes I understand that was the point of the scene but how they go about it was strange. As you see the glow appears but there is no beam. In the EC in Destroy you can clearly see a beam from earth connecting to the citadel. The whole point of the 2 pics were that they were designed to be similar for no apparant reason. The exhaust should have been orange and the beam should have been able to been seen.

So there is a maximum falling speed. Okay, fair enough, I stand corrected on this one.
I still have a hard time believing anyone could survive a fall from that speed in real-life. Do you have a source to back it up?
Wait. Are ITers supporting the literal possiblity and HH is supporting the impossibility of it being real?

Seems there is a discussion going on about the probablity of Shepard surviving re-entry in ME2.TJBartlemus wrote...

It was Mark II. I don't remember the page but we did already discuss this. And there is no way of reaching a definite conclusion, it's all about what stance you decide to take up, it's another battle between opinions. We'd need the word-of-god from Bioware to know for sure.

I'm bored why I'm still going with it. It's an alien planet there are too many unknowns to completely rule it out. It's unlikely but not impossible with the limited knowledge of foreign planets we have.

No, I'm accepting the fact that what happened with Shepard's death and ressurection in ME2 really did happen. I simply say such a thing is impossible from a realistic point of view. I still accept it happened though.
I brought that event up because people here refuse to accept that Shepard could survive a hit from a reaper laser beam. Yes, realistically it should not be possible to survive such a hit. but since Shepard already survived impossible odds in the previous game, I find the idea of Shepard surviving a deadly laser beam not so far-fetched.

Exactly. The same can be said of Shepard surviving a deadly laser beam that was meant to kill him.

The beam is 2m in diameter. You think you could see something like that while still be able to see 1/4 of the Earth in the corner?TJBartlemus wrote...

Well Anderson never really found out what they were planning in London until the citadel actually arrived, so that fits. What I find more interesting is the apparent plothole of the reapers preparing for "something" (the beam) in London before TIM supposedly told them about the crucible. What do you think? Plothole? 1. they wanted to either move the Citadel anyway or construct a construction facility for the new Reaper.
2. It's not all what it seems.

I don't even know if the MP community is large enough anymore to complete it in the first place. Even if it were, there does seem to be a lack of interest and motivation from a lot of the MP forum posters. I saw quite a few "oh good, I'll do the squad goal for my promo weapon, then I'm out".AxStapleton wrote...

The MP community has fallen off considerably in the past five months. Aside from the hardcore, there's only so many horde missions you can run against the same three factions before it gets stale. The operations are obviously Bioware's way of tracking how large the active community is during advertised weekends. There needs to be a larger incentive for the allied goals than what amounts to a glorified JEP. And again, I don't believe there's any grand connection to an extended endgame with the MP operations. That's wishful thinking, imo.

The community is still quite large and MP is still quite popular. The problem is most players would rather farm credits on easy maps than tackle a more difficult map like London.

It couldn't hurt to make the victory packs more worth it (i.e. a guaranteed ultra rare/another N7 weapon) but that's no excuse for people not to help the rest of us out.GethPrimeMKII wrote...

But not as popular as it was in the beginning. The first promotion weekend had a goal of 150,000 promotions. Only two months after that, the same weekend goal was cut to 50,000. And that was 3 months ago. Attrition is expected with this type of game. People simply move on. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy it, but they really need to create a bigger incentive for the allied goals.GethPrimeMKII wrote...

I bet you if the next operation centered around Firebase White, it'd be completed within hours.
Probably. London is also a very 'open' map with no real good spot that guarantees a successful 'hide and shoot'. It's also relatively new, so it's no surprise that the allied goal is bound to fail.
But hey, London's where the party's at: www.youtube.com/watch
