Ah, and what happens next? Anderson helping him up, right?

DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUN

Wouldn't that be a repetition, and not a 'real' symmetry?
With > as a sequence of actions, we have > < if you think about it:
Beggining: Lots of talking, Beam, Anderson helping up, Running, Fighting
End: Fighting, Running, Squad getting hit, Beam, (fighting marauder shields,) Lots of talking

Only things that don't fit are the Anderson helping up part and the Squad getting hit part

I hope I'm wrong about it though, because the next part being Anderson helping Shep up would be awesome

"Thread."
BZZZ

And this is also how 'Admiral Anderson' ist helping up Shepard...just only via omgwtfisthatsound.

Interestingly, though, they did manage to have Anderson being twice there on the map in Vancouver, but not once in the Collector base part. (see flycam evidence).

Why EXTENDED cut and not FINAL cut if it's truly the end? ;)

In the Final Cut of Blade Runner, Ridley Scott kinda answered the big question whether Deckard was a replicant or not...in the same manner the indoc. of Shepard is hinted in ME3.

Why is it in the one medium an huge sci fi epic, in the other one it's bad writing or grasping at straws?

Maybe they did consider calling it tha way and looked at Blade Runner as an example (Mike Gamble mentions Blade Runner in one of his tweets).

Didn't he also mention the Matrix Trilogy? Never really understood where the connection between Matrix and ME is supposed to be

Anderson is not amused about that

Dunno about him, but the Matrix is mentioned right in this one photo of Mac Walters' notes in the Final Hours App:

"End of First Matrix". Means most probably what Neo goes through in the end of the first Matrix.
To me, it also reads a bit like what the Architect tells Neo about the first Matrix the machines created: a Utopia which no one accepted, as it was too perfect (what Synthesis feels like to me).

Lots of speculation from everyone!

In the middle of replaying the ending just because im bored, and I noticed something...

In the last dream sequence you have just before the cerberus assault, the last voice to "whisper" at you is harbinger. He says "Shepard" then you and the kid burn up. I originally thought it was wrex, but upon closer examination and louder volume I distinctly recognize it as harbinger.

Perhaps I'm late to the plate with this little snippet, but I thought it interesting. Good ol harby has a line after all!

This was the first thing I ever brought up in the IT thread (Mark I). I too thought it was Harbinger. So then I examined all the sound files from the dream and all of Harbinger's sound files, and positively identified that 'Shepard' in the dream as one of Wrex's lines. I even compared the waveforms in a sound editor, and it's an exact match for one of Wrex's 'Shepard's.

So alas, no, it's not Harbinger. Debunked.

No, Halberstram, we already discussed it in the previous threads.

But it's always nice taking one or two looks at it. For example:
On the right, under "Chain Reaction": is that "Ambiguous Function" or "Ambicious Function"?
And above that, next to "Device": is that "vague terms"?

Yes, it's "vague terms". And yeah, I'd say it is "ambiguous". Just spelled wrong.

Also, for the Matrix connection, you should probably read TSA's thread on that.

Matrix Spoiler!

Neo ends up being somewhat connected to the Matrix from the real world without being physically plugged it. He can see all electronics and information flowing around him like he would in the matrix.

Or that he joins the matrix to solve a bigger problem.

Good god, the thread is slow.

I know that some are off to the gamescom but did really everyone go? And did those with a stomach illness not recover yet?

Either way, it's less than two weeks till Leviathan release and hopefully then the thread won't be running on emergency supplies.

Late reply but good catch masster blaster. Yeah Shepard gets knocked back and hits a bench at the beginning of ME3, the same bench he continually see's in his three dreams. Huh...

Hmm, thinking Matrix prophecy= ME3 crucible making me think more the crucible is a lie, at least I know the decision chamber is a lie.

And if you remember, Otter, the traditional definitions of crucible are 1) a container where metals are heated, and 2) a trial or test, which is where the Crucible the play got its name from (the idea that each character is experiencing moral "heat" and there is a test in a figurative sense and a trial in a literal sense to see if they will "melt"). Since Bioware intentionally named it the Crucible when they could have called it anything, it seems that there was this intent that it would be some sort of test.

Now whether it is a test of the player to not be tricked, a test of Shepard to not be indoctrinated, or a test from whoever created the Reapers to see if there was someone strong enough to unite the galaxy and end the cycle as a sort of failsafe remains to be seen.

I'd love to play some MP...if it weren't for that slow lab report I gotta hand in soon. :pinched:

Other than that, I also noticed two days ago how nearly everyone from my friendlist was gone...off to the Gamescom. I hope they bring good news with them, from their perilous journey!

So I'm probably going to be a little captain obvious here, but speculations are dead. And I don't recall seeing this here. Though I certainly haven't read all 4000+ pages of all three marks, so this could very well be a repeat.

But there is audio, of all your ME2 squadies shouting at you, "SHOOT THE TUBES!" You can take or leave the "S" with some of them. Garrus just sound like he's shouting, "SHOOT THE TUBE!" I made a point to replay the end boss fight with every squad member. All of them say it to you. You know...to get you to shoot the tube that supposedly kills the Reaper. Then, it turns out you didn't actually kill the reaper. It gets back up to fight.

Thoughts?

Not particularly well. I haven't heard much of my sister since she was shot. I worry about her. I just hope it's not her face that gets hit next time.

No I mentioned this also. The destroy option appearence is a manifestation of everything that is wrong with the reapers. The human reaper used glass tubes to inject digested human into itself. Reapers turn organics into monsters, husks have tubes and wires running through them as do the other species. Whenever you're on a mission and see wires and tubes= reaper tech.

It's also a reference to Matriach Benezia who says fighting indoctrination was like "pounding on glass" Shepard escapse the reaper overlay reality by him shooting at a glass tube trying to break through.

His mind creating a "haven" (again Matriarch Benezia) free of indoctrination. The Normandy lands on "dream planet" full of life and hope which is the opposite of reaper induced nightmare of a kid and dead forest.
