I really hope it wasn't true, because indoctrination is absolutely brilliant. I hope that at least BioWare would adapt it instead of admitting they did a poorly made ending.

Lol just met this guy on the Internet who claimed IT opened up alot of thematic contradictions to the rest of the series. Naturally I have asked him to state those thematic contradictions.

Anyone want to bet he dosent answer or his answer boils down to "Bioware´s writers suck"?

Edit: Also I will be without a computer for a while as i am sending it on ahead as I am moving in a weeks time. So you will be without my stunning good looks for some time

We have no idea what Bioware are planning Estebanus. They could still use IT to some extent or they might just add more dialogue options to the investigate option in Starbrats dialogue to steer us away from Control and Synthesis, at this stage we just have no idea what the future holds.


Also, something I forgot to add to my post before, we’ll apparently have a lot more investigate options in Leviathan, we can sort of play detective is how Jessica Merizan put it. So I’m thinking similar to how we could investigate Liara’s apartment in LOTSB.

I was at the BioWare booth, too. I talked with Chris, and apparently, he likes the IT. He even told me he had a playthrough dedicated to it.

So he is just saying that in his play through, it's IT, but in another
play through, it's no IT. So what does this mean about the  endings, and
what other theory's does Bioware have in their play through?  If he likes
IT, then I wonder how many Bioware staff members like IT. Also that
explains why Chris has been checking in on the IT thread more
frequently, and why he shut down " Move IT to fan thread." I really
can't remember the thread's name, but ya.

I've been willing to give BioWare the benefit of doubt...the IT transformed Mass Effect 3 from ruining the trilogy into a work of genius. If these leaks are true I'm not going to buy Leviathan.

Going with IT would just make more sense for the story and the franchise. It's mindblowing, it's artistic, and it's really the only way they could continue the series, since the literal endings are so radically different.

Odense. I am starting on Sourthern Danish University which has one of its facilities there. I am gonna study Learning and Experience Technology, essentially Videogame and Film making.

I would just like to raise my hand and remind everyone that the "Catalyst" can both be entirely sincere and still be a Reaper projection in Shepard's own head, pushing him towards a desired way of thinking.  Leviathan can flesh out the literal background plenty without demanding an entirely literal ending.

Leviathan is a Leviathan, last of the race of Leviathans.
The race that the leaked dialogue conformed created the Reapers and the Catalyst

The
DLC Leviathan is organic, just very long lived (functionally immortal)
and the Reapers were built to look like their creators.

Leviathan
isn't a Reaper or part-reaper or a proto-reaper it's just a huge
organic that looks like a Reaper and has abilities similar to (but not
the same as) a Reaper because the Reapers abilities were based on their
creators natural abilities.

Any speculation that squadmates in
the leaked dialogue involving Reapers is set _before_ the final big
reveal in the DLC and always framed as a question. The _statements_
about Leviathan all talk about it being the last of the creators.

None
of this has anything to do with the _actual_ Reaper that the Batarians
found that was nicknamed "The Leviathan of Dis" by the Batarians or the
synthesis ending

• Leviathans create the Reapers (As servants, in their own image, and size)
• Reapers rebel
• Leviathans
  create the Catalyst to resolve the Reaper rebellion thinking that it is
  suitably shackled to preserving "peace" and (After much research) give
  it the ability to take over the Reapers (Much like what Xen wanted)
• Catalyst
  has to solve a problem that has almost no teneble solution and so comes
  up with the cycle, assumes control of the Reapers and gives them a new
  purpose
• Reapers go and harvest all but one of the Leviathans,
  stuffing the resulting goo and knowledge into one of them, making
  Harbinger
• The Catalyst never _directly_ kills anyone and is
  following it's programming to the best of it's ability, the Reapers do
  the dirty work and eventually all get upgraded to synthetic+goo status,
  then they build more as they need them

Actually there's a line of dialogue extracted from the leak that states that the Leviathan has AI shackles. This suggests that he is indeed a reaper prototype and not an original organic Leviathan. I'm sorry I don't have it to hand.

it seems as if Leviathan tells you that control/synthesis are possible? I have not and will not read the spoilers but this is what it sounds like.

Now, this being true, would it not be possible for the Hallucination at the end to be induced by Leviathan? If Leviathan gives information that the Catalyst is real/synthesis is possible he could very well be flat out lying to Shepard because it intends to "test" Shepard in a way to see if she is worth helping. Leviathan would only help in Destroy, and maybe Control.

It is the same situation with Vendetta, he implies that you will meet a Catalyst thing so when you actually see it, it doesn't seem that weird.

We really need to wait and play through Leviathan.  It's just as likely that there is both one of the Reaper's creators AND a rogue Reaper or Reaper Killer involved.  After all, if Leviathan is the last of the creators, it could have made a whole new Reaperkilling synthetic or synthetics.

I guess it's possible and I hope that would be true, but I think it's unlikely.

Now I understand Mike's comment about Leviathan.During the demo of the Leviathan dlc,
Mike Gamble said that Leviathan can be the antagonist, but it's up to
your choices that cause this.So this could mean that Harbinger is first
Indoctrinating Shepard, but fails. But Leviathan sees this as a great
chance to test Shepard if he/she is Indoctrinated. We the player are
Shepard's mind, and train of thought. if we get compromised, so does
Shepard, in which case. If we pick Control, or Synthesis, that's what
the Reapers want. If we pick Destroy, that's what Leviathan wants, and
so do the non Indoctrinated people of the Galaxy, Shepard's
squad,Anderson, and maybe Shepard.

Edit: Sorry forgot refuse/reject, but still I don't know about this, it's still unknowen .


I will see the demo again to make a true statement about this, and post it here again.
