I asked earlier about Anderson mentioning the reapers planning something big in London. Specifically, when it took place. Because if it was before Thessia it would have been proof that the reapers were planning the events of Priority: Earth with the beam and such even before they could have had knowledge from Vendetta about the Crucible or the Catalyst.

I found this post from Masster. He implies it's before Thessia. The dialogue also suggests that.

"Unite And Subvert" theory confirmed I think.

Anyway I'm out for the night. Laters.

So true! And don't forget, GLYPH is evil!

+1

It could also explain why the crucible plans were still in Liara's message, as Glyph was the VI in the capsule...perhaps trying to trick future cycles...? PRobably not actually

Remember that the people of the Universe had no way of knowing what happened on the Citadel so for them the Crucible didn't work presumably because Shepard had failed.

Doomsday, no one talked TIM into shooting himself because he wanted to control the Reapers. There was no other dialogue option so it was forced. Posted Image

I'm certain this has been brought up multiple times in the past couple thousand pages that this thread and it's successors have been open, but I've always had problems with the presentation of the child in the vent on Earth. Beyond the fact that the room he was in was just blasted by a Reaper, the child acts nothing like a child. Instead of crying he seems oddly calm. Also, his response is rather strange, for a child that is. "You can't save me" is not a line that you would expect to hear most children saying, kids just don't talk like that. . . not to mention he dissappears rather quickly.

The best way to understand this line is to realise what BW's intentions were in introducing the child. For me, the child represents Shepard's doubt and pessimism concerning his new challenge ahead, the crushing realisation that not all will survive "however hard he tries". And thus, in this case, making the child say, "You can't save me" is much more effective than him saying "YAH COMMANDER SHEPARD!!!"

Hey Fist! So many good times on that thread

Yeah, talk about anything odd in the game that can link to perhaps indoctrination of Shepard...though a lot of the time we're talking about anything, like multiplayer, opinions on different sections of the game etc. This thread has become its own community pretty much :P

I've been dead for the last two weeks, just waiting for Leviathan (which unfortunately I won't be able to play straightaway) :(

I can't deny, on balance, the kid is a tad odd. Just not indoctrination odd :)

You've literally been dead for two weeks? :crying: YEah, the thread has really slowed just waiting for Leviathan. Except when HAnar came back and his attitude got the pages moving but nothing new was learned from him

Fair enough, to each their own ;)

That sucks :crying:

We don't know for sure yet  but it definitely adds new topics of conversation with the Starchild at the end. There's been the usual self-contradictory statements from Bioware employees about it. I'm quietly confident Leviathan will shed more light on the endings being unreal (in a  literal sense (but not THAT way), not in a "dude that was totally unreal" sense)

It is coming out Tuesday week so hopefully we'll be celebrating then! :D

Leviathan promises in depth background on Reaper origins, a new area om the Citadel, exploration etc.

The screens are interesting, there's one of a cavepainting of Asari-looking people  fighting/in awe of the Reapers and then a giant humanoid looking figure. Very slenderman-like :D

Last night I was very negative about stuff because it's been 5 months, but I'm back and in IT mode lol

you know what I m donw with Bioware after Me fiasco.
Many witers have left them after SWor catastrophe as well as during and after the ME 3 game.
Greg Zeszczuk Bioware co-founder is on "sabbatical" and developing independently.
Ea tried to smooth it over saying that he still is there and will come back but I doubt it...

I think they are disintegrating and Im hapoy about it.

It alll they deserve rea`lly .Me 3 ending was a disaster of epic proportions and the most misjudged ending in film or videogame medium ever in my opion.

So from me to Bioware - Scr*w you....

Even in your logic, the kid is there as metaphor. He is artificially inserted into a story from above, and doesn't feel like a character. If the devs while wcomposing the sotry wonted us players to fell for this kid, and through him come to the crushing realisation that he can't save everyone - it would be much easier to write him as a real innocent sympathetic kid, which you could actually like. (and they know how to do that stuff).

Really? Because it sounded like a big fat no to me but as Chris said.. it will remains open to every individual's interpretation. That's not really different then what we already have.

Not entirely. The endings reamain up to the individual player - For me individually  that means that the IT remains 100% true and valid. )))

And NO ONE will be able to rpove me wrong.

So at least we know for sure it would not disprove the IT once and for all.

It's like with that thing i read in mass effect invasion comic.

In a guarillia warfare conventional army loses if it doesn't win, and the guarillias win if they don't lose.

We can apply the same principal.B)

You didn't miss anything. My post got buried (thank you for resurrecting it :))

I was actually thinking that if the Alpha Relay is where the Reapers enter the galaxy, maybe the Omega-4 Relay is where they leave? Another possibility is that the Reapers' invasion starts at the Alpha Relay, and will be stopped at the Omega-4 Relay. That would mean the Omega DLC might actually be more important than initially thought.

I totally forgot that rho is a greek letter, too! However, why would the Project team give the object a greek letter as a designation if all other such designations are reserved for relays?

I like the way you think about Omega. As for Rho--after a quick review of the wiki info on the object and after checking the wiki about mass relays in general, they mention numerous relays that don't have Greek letters for their names (Charon, Harsa, Lowas, Mactare) plus there's both and Omega 2 relay and an Omega 4 relay. I'm guessing that many of the relays were, like Charon, named based on their location (the system they were in, planet or moon they were close to, etc.). Meaning, I don't think they reserved Greek letters for the relays so using Rho as a name for the object wouldn't really be confusing in that regard.
