I want to see what a synthesized giraffe looks like.

Exactly the same as a normal giraffe, Except it will have green eyes and green lines running throughout its body.

Okay we should go back to discussing IT in general. I know Synthesis is aprt of IT, but we are geeting no where with this.

I agree we need to get off of the topic of synthesis. Just to make a final point though of us using replacement limbs and such...is using a tool make it part of you? IMO it doesn't. Even if it is attached permanently it doesn't make it a part of you. What makes you as a physical person is what you were naturally given. Adding synthetic tools doesn't change who you are.

For future reference for people on the thread I recommend that you look up the definition if not sure.

Synthesis is a process that occurs unnaturally. Evolution is a process that occurs naturally over lots of time. Synthesis is a cheat to evolution. In essence it is an abomination to nature cause it challenges the very basis of organic development. To choose an advancement to cheat nature and is an abomination is foolish. It also is certainly not inevitable cause it will never happen naturally and since organic choice is impossible to predict you cannot make a claim like that.

Of course not. But I just think that some form of it will happen. Humanity has already started down that path.

Every form of technological advancement is a form of cheating evolution though, isn't it? We cheated evolution by learning how to fly without wings. We cheated it by learning how to live underwater without gills. We cheated it by inventing candles to let us see in the dark instead of getting nightvision. Synthesis would more or less be nothing else than a technological advancement, wouldn't it?

IMO it does. Not mentally, but physically. But that of course is left over to personal interpretation.

I'm back to tell you all that i'm currently sitting on the deck, smoking a cigar, with a glass of rum.

Speculating like a generalissimo.

Oddly enough that's the exact position I was sitting in, and I hadn't realized it.

All of the most rational minds that I've seen on BSN are in this very thread. As a group we are some very smart people. We know the score. That should give you some idea of what makes sense, and what doesn't.

Edit: No offense intended, also, I'll see you all later.

"Without Bioware's support, you may think I can't convince you that IT is true. But I can!"

"We're at war. No one wants to admit it but Indoctrination Theory's under attack. One very specific theorist might be all that stands between Indoctrination Theory and the greatest letdown of our brief existence. We need a speculator, and surround them with the brightest, the wisest, the canniest allies we can find. The team will have to be strong, their resolve unquestionable. "

Haven't entirely caught up with the discussion, just a few reactions:

I was worried they were going to disprove the theory, so I'm happy if they're leaving it ambiguous at least for now.

The impression I got from speaking to Jessica and Chris is that they are going to keep it ambiguous FOREVER.

I can't
even explain is words how much I would hate that. That's far worse than
disproving IT IMO. What do you guys think?

From the very first moment I realized what the ending was about, I knew they were going to leave it ambiguous forever. It's their Blade Runner. (Bad example because that one eventually got a director's cut, but you know what I mean.)

I don't understand why anyone needs confirmation at all. It's so bloody obvious.

Saren: synthesis TIM: control, both indoctrinated. There you go.

Anyone who doesn't get that hasn't been paying attention to the stories in the games or fails in interpreting symbolism.

The confirmation is in the game. Introduction shot of the boy. :bandit:

Wow, that is brilliant. Best explanation of the Crucible I've heard.

Haha, where do you think my name comes from? I never told you my Crucible theory? Oh right, that was.... that other guy whom I told that. You know who I mean. ;)

Yup. Like I wrote somewhere else...

"Saren: "The relationship is symbiotic...organic and machine, intertwined. A union of flesh and steel. The strengths of both, the weaknesses of neither. I am a vision of the future, Shepard. The evolution of all organic life. This is our destiny. Join Sovereign and experience a true rebirth."

The only difference is, Saren's eyes were blue and in Synthesis they are green.

I'm in a cardboard box in downtown DC with my pipe downing a 40oz (speculation juice) like a champ.Oh no it's raining, my box is collapsing!

@Doomsdaydevice exactly, the intro shot of the boy pretty much set the tone for what kind of story we are going to be experiencing. At the beginning first time playing I thought that was a real ship, but it was all just an illusion.
