Oh, it appears the next operation is named "Alloy", though the link on the Bioware blog isn't working yet.

Okay guys I have been thinking more on the crucible is a trap, and so is the Earth return mission. Think about it. It's not just Shepard, and the good portion of the galaxys armys, it's the LEADERS that are there.

Wrex, the Krogan leader. Primarc Victius the Turian leader. The council, the, the embassitors from the other races. Aria, and the gang leaders. The Quarian leaders. Major Kiree the Salarian hero, and leader. Also Hackett, Anderson, and most of all Shepard. Even Shepard's squad is still counts as leaders of the galaxy because each one did crazy stuff to stop the Reapers/ prepare for the Reapers arrival.Harbinger " Your leaders will beg to serve us."

I saw biotic charge listed on there and was sad cause I figured they'd finally gotten around to nerfing vanguards, only to see that they're actually buffing them. Awesome!

Also, whats going on in here?

An unsettling idea (if IT isn't true). What if the mediocre ending is a consequence of DLC-based model? I mean it's not fully comprehensible because we don't have the full context which DLCs are supposed to provide. This (the lack of all the details) also allows BioWare to tease fans with "not denying, not proving IT" comments, even though they already now how the ending should be viewed.

I don't mind DLC so long as its handled correctly. What I don't like is having to wait month's after a game's release to have its true ending revealed, but I guess it's the only way they're going to keep Mass Effect relavent without immediately spilling the beans on Mass Effect 4.

One way or the other Mass Effect 3 really needs the DLC treatment. The game feels awfully short when compared to Mass Effect 2 with all of its DLC.

@ Byne There was a pessimism spike, we had a discussion about whether synthesis could ever be a good thing (I.E. achieved naturally somehow), we talked about how IT makes so much more sense than the literal interpretation that the literal interpretation is a theory, and not IT. We also had an uplifting discussion about why they would plan IT and how, I posted something new and interesting about EDI, and last page I also posted something interesting about Hackett.

There you go - the plot of ME3 in one sentence - Indoctrinated Shepard unites the galaxy, and brings it's combined forces and all the leaders to a last stand battle at Earth, which is a trap.

Haven't posted in a while so I decided to come back with something meaty. Don't know if this has been said before but whatever.

DISCLAIMER: I did not and do not take perfect screenshots, I was slightly ahead/behind the parts that were really telling but it was sometimes too hard to get it perfect. I did my best, the similarities are still there.

The ending of Mass Effect 2 is exactly the same as the endings from Mass Effect 3.
Take special note here of the "hole" in the explosion, it is present in both ME2 and ME3

In ME2 there was only red, or blue. In ME3 there is red, blue, and...green? Besides the extended BS that is Synthesis, notice how similar these images are.

And then there is the Normandy flying away from earth, both in the beginning and the end. In the beginning, Shepard was reluctant to leave earth. In the ending, Joker is reluctant to leave Shepard (this could be interchanged with earth for the main purpose of saying "we have seen this before"). In BOTH these cases, the Normandy flys away through ship debris before entering FTL.

It should also be noted how much ship debris is around after you jump through the Omega 4 relay. This is also similar to the leaving earth scene in the beginning of ME3 (don't have a screenshot right now).

Beginning: It is also odd how much red/explosion effect is seen here. It could almost be said that it is the explsion effect from the end just seen at a different angle (sort of).

End: If the red effect was removed here I believe that it would hold even more similarities to the beginning ship debris.
Posted Image

I believe that these striking similarities between the endings of both ME2 and ME3 PLUS the similarities of the beginning of ME3 to the end of ME3 heavily supports the fact that Shepard is in a dream/hallucination. Everything that happened in the end we've seen before, it was nothing new AT ALL. The only changes were angles and such.

I just realized I dont even know where you live. Also, did you see the name of the ship? I was on the Carnival Spirit.

I wasn't there for the synthesis discussion, so that might be why it started :P It was actually quite slow and empty to the point of me being acting-captain so to speak. Also, I'm not close enough to see the names of the ships, but I can basically see Firebase Vancouver across the strait. If you passed between Vancouver and Vancouver Island, than I may have seen you. Will never know though. Would you like me to repost my EDI thing?

EDI: Objective Symbology

I’m actually very surprised no one has brought this up before, (or at least not that I’ve seen) but whatever, I will.

So basically, the first time I played through ME3 I was all like:

“Huh. EDI’s visor is orange/red, and Eva’s was blue. That’s weird. Most colour symbology has the opposite colours. Whatever.”

After seeing the extended cut however, it became blatantly obvious. The colour of her visor reflects her goals – her objectives. Dr. Eva was in TIM’s control, and TIM wanted control. After EDI takes over the body, it changes to destroy’s colour. Likewise, in the EC, if you pick synthesis it changes to green, the colour of synthesis. What is so interesting about that though, is that you have to have beaten the game to notice it. Yet more evidence that Bioware is not bad at writing, or implementing subtleties. In my opinion, this also suggests that EDI indeed favours destroy, even though it includes her death in a literal ending, since if she didn’t, why is it orange? Meaning, if the writers didn’t want her to favour destroy, why is it orange?

What do you all think of this?

Well, EDI favouring destroy is a known fact - She tells you that straight.
Almost in the words "I want reapers destroyed, even if it means my death!"

@banshee
It is also interesting to note that Eva was FORCIBLY controlled by TIM. In synthesis everyone was FORCED to become part organic/synthetic. However, during the majority of the game EDI's visor is red, by her own accord, nobody forced her to do so, yet in the other two situations it is forced.
