1M1

That's the message that made the most sense to me anyway. Thoughts?

I wonder how it's possible that the Normandy's crew doesn't sway from side to side when Joker flies it? There must be some kind of artificial gravity field that is adjusted when the ship changes orientation.

I never understand why he can explain what 1M1 means and then say it doesn't make sense. Hilarious when you consider how elegant that explanation is.

i think it's more about trying not to see too much into it. while it's a good explanation, it might also verge on the giving the writers too much credit side of things, especially when you can see 8m8 in other areas of the game - suggesting it may just be coincidence.

Personally I think the 1M1 is meant to catch your eye, but the specific characters aren't important. The convergance idea always makes me smile though.

LOL. I knew it. Image IPB They only appear to not sway... That image stabilization algorithm can do magic.

EDIT: OK, but, seriously, the question still remains.

He presented 3 definitions of Convergence and all just happened to fit the plot. For me it's a little more than sheer coincidence.

oh, i agree with you 100%. but i guess the view is just coming from a documentary-making perspective. i particularly like the cathode explanation, though if i were making a video for people to see, i'd probably mention it feels like a far stretch when i don't know if the writers' intentions were that, and if they were that subtle/thoughtful.

Remember the 1m1 pylon appeared in ME1, I think it's just another thing from Shepards memories.

I never understood the love for Star Wars. John Williams was the only thing outstanding about it.

I never really liked the originals for more than the music and the action, which is probably why I don't hate the prequels as much as I'm told I should.
I also don't get the big deal about Lord of the Rings.

I enjoyed the prequels and was quite surprised to learn that many people despise them. Surely, the light sword battles were improved. The one where old Wan fought Voldemort looked ridiculous.

I still don't belive they would just put that there despite the fact that it's supposed to be an area never before seen to anyone.

EDIT: But maybe I'm just giving the Bioware team too much credit. Like they would think about things.

after the literal slash of the EC, a great part of my hope for those clever things dissipated.

IT will forever be my headcanon actual ending, thus i agree that the 1m1 holds significance.

And maybe they expected such arguments all along.
We know it's a video game but so do they. And as professionals also know how to do their job properly to produce good games.

One does not program a quick gun swap that won't get noticed at once but overlook details like the game equivalent of a wrist watch, the 1M1.

I was wondering why this video isn't listed:

It's the 'There is only one choice' video that explains IT from a story perspective.

but slips happen. i mean, how many typos are there in the caption, between ME1 and ME2? and those are things that slide along the same lack of attention, i'd suppose.

personally, i think the fans have done a much better job at creating a theory that transforms the game into a masterpiece than the developers in their tying together opportunities they had, to be far more successful.

Maybe we ARE giving Bioware too much credit. It was one of them that made the DA:O character creator have a long unskippable cutscene before you can actually create characters.

It's an informative video with quotes from different characters and how they relate to the end choices. A wrap-up.

in all 3 threads (forgive me for not going back over the 4000+ pages combined), has it been discussed if there's any correlation with the stargazer child being voiced by the same actor as the catalyst?

You do understand that in IT (at least in the basics of it) we don't see a cigar and discuss: "hm, this could represent the male reproductive organ".
There are (symbolically speaking) male reproductive organs in the game and we discuss what the intention behind placing it there might've been.

Or at least that's how I see what we do...:P (not exactly like that of course...)

Book or movies?  The books put me to sleep.  Tolkien took forever to say nothing.  The movies were good, but they weren't insta-classics like many say.

Heresy. The books are the source-material, and they are glorious. Also the first book I read in this tongue, so I dare you to put the movies above them! */nerdrage*

Other than that...the very odd log-entry in the field base in London right before the slog to the beam was already brought up ofttimes, was it not? Very interesting reading if one is inclined to believe that the beam may be a trap and possibly a device of mass-indoctrination. And not just a space elevator, duh.

It would fit my insane theory that the Dragon Age world is just a world like the one Jacob's dad landed on, where the food makes everyone go crazy.

Lyrium would just be Eezo, mages are just biotics, dwarves are volus, etc.

And the Maker is a Reaper, right?  And I'm no fan of volus, but that's harsh.

People in the ME universe believe in the Maker, the one scientist on Eden Prime for example.

yeah, i know. all i'm saying is that there are some things that, after what we were given and pushed to take as official through the EC, i personally have a hard time believing bioware was THAT clever anymore.

trust me, nothing would make me happier than knowing i'm wrong and they WERE that clever, and all of these subtle hints and symbolisms actually were put there for a reason - other than anything accidental, coincidental, or from inattentiveness.

So.
Quick bet:
Leviathan gets announced tomorrow, will be out this coming tuesday or the one after.
It still won't be as awesome as my new avatar.
