The most popular misconception regarding IT is that evidence to prove it hinge on post ending dlc being released. Post ending DLC is just icing on the cake. IT depends on thematic evidence that is already in the story for proof. It is the only theory that accounts for all of the oddities in the ending using the lore and nothing else.

That might be fine for some people, but I have to believe it was disingenous of BW to support IT as a valid interpretation, given their whole "Take Back Earth" Marketing and pre-release commentary. Unless of course they plan on allowung you to eventually wake up, or have some kind of IT DLC.

And for me? I can only believe something that I think is true, I don't just like to interpret, I like to know for sure.

I agree with you insofar as in the current state of the game, IT allows for the whole "Take Back Earth" to have never happened. And while something like that is probably not uncommon in fictional stories (e.g. American Psycho), it would have been at least less anti-climatic if we found out that the whole Reaper threat never happened and everything after the Eden Prime Prothen beacon was just a vision. At least, that's the best compromise I can come up with that doesn't exclude 'artsy' twists.

But if the hint would be that it is rather 'probable' that we really did end the war, then why not make it a bit more climatic...Bioware can make me feel like I accomplished something -- I'll never forget the ending of ME1. Feeling like a hero and THEN find out that it was 'just a hallucination' would still leave me more satisfied than what I have now.

So yeah, I too feel the need for something that makes me feel the ending of the story, and not just being told that it is the end.

Speaking of pre release marketing - as I and many others already pointed out - the marketing materials all have very prominent themes of enduring and rising from the rubble.
It is VERY consistent

the collector's edition even has this art on the box

I say that the Take Earth Back marketing and the over jorsey shore thone of it - is to divert attention.

All right, it might have been tedious too. Posted Image But think of how proud you were of yourself when you finally managed to drive it in straight line.

In ME1 on Insanity in NG+ mako didn't last 15 seconds in combat. You literaly could get out of it, fight on foot and withstand a much greater punishment. In fact I took all the thresher maws in ME1 on foot, so when it came to ME2 and i was passing those two krogans in the hallway - "they say the human took down the thresher maw! On foot!" - I always thought "Gee! What's a big deal??"

Am I the only one who wants missions that allow you to fly fighter jets? I mean, its a war right? Theres so much they can do in single player and multiplayer with military vehicles.

Naysayers will call it metaphorical, but it is interesting that rising from the rubble is a common theme when the hardest ending thingy to unlock is Shepard lying in rubble, probably about to get up.

But they can also release Mass Effect spin-offs. Like Mass Effect: Dark Energy Tank Edition. Posted Image

Here's an idea for a small SP DLC mission: Cerberus is building experimental fighter jets at a remote location in Terminus space. Shepard and his team infiltrate the facility, steal a jet, use it to destroy the facility and turn the jet over to the alliance.

I'd kill for that, but I'm a huge Ace Combat fan so I'm not exactly unbiased.

Being optimistic: they might add that as a mode or something similar to ME3 or the next games.
Being pessimistic: they'll look at that BSG free2play online game and do that, a free2play game as seems to be a currently desired course for EA.

OR, they story it in Normandy's hangar bay - there are TWO spots free. One for the jet, and one for the Hammerhead. (Man Really want my Hammerhead back )

The way i see it EA has enough free-to-play things going on at the moment. So they might as well keep the ME as a headliner, and keep it traditional.

Tbh, I don't see it happening anytime soon. Mass Effect is not an action game but a story-driven game with action elements. Flying a jet fighter is too BF3ish. Even piloting that Cerberus mech in Grissom Academy was constrained to a small room.

And why not flying Reapers to combat? Since they have an organic mind, might as well role-play reapers...

I wish people wouldn't get so obsessed with Leviathan "proving or disproving IT." Even if by some miracle they do confirm IT, I don't believe it will be in this one DLC. This is shaping up to be like the hype with the EC where everyone thought it would either prove or disprove IT, but then it turned out to do neither, and then both sides claimed it either disproved it or added more clues. That's probably exactly what's gonna happen with Leviathan. It may provide more clues, but it won't prove IT, nor will it disprove it (though people will try to say it does.)

As doubtful as it is, even if they confirm their direction was similar to IT, it likely won't occur until they put out their LAST sp DLC. They want us to keep buying their products and confirming or denying IT could lose a portion of their fanbase either way. It also makes more sense from a storytelling perspective imo.

well, my soapbox has stilts today lol

Leviathan will add more strong evidence to support IT. Again, people need to remember that IT does not depend on ME3's DLC for proof. The evidence is in ME1 and ME2. Its in the books and its in the comics. Anything produced now is just icing on the cake. More evidence to add to the IT evidence stock pile.

Idd rather see a full fledged Real Time Strategy game.

Something like Sins of a Solar Empire, but with elements of Starcraft 2 thrown in, like the story forcus and the ability to make choices in the campaign.

Could make for an interesting game if you ask me.

I also think that they could take this way to do a next game in the Mass Effect Universe.

unless that game has hubs and the ability for the main player character to walk around in them and talk to important characters, i would feel like an RTS would take out the personal aspect of the series and it's focus on character's and character development.

Also it would have to give to the option to play as a female character, otherwise it wouldn't be a BioWare game at all as far as I'm concerned.
