I like Twilight God and his posts. They're well thought out and rigorous. There's some occasionally... erm, loose, thinking in this thread. He has a robust style but hey, someone has to keep y'all's speculation monocles in focus.

The theory that leviathans control the reapers was making some headway in this thread only yesterday. Nuts, I say, nuts.

No if we really want to play his game we have to make a thread about how terrible all of his ideas are and how we're tired of him. Then when he posts we'll say, "Ahh! Why don't you go read my thread before commenting!"

Which would just please him.

Short answer? No. That's why I like this thread though. The gender ambiguity is nice. It allows us to see other people as just that: people. That's all that matters. Posted Image

Thats one thing I've always liked about the internet: you see people for who they actually are. Your perception isnt colored by appearance, wealth, gender, skin color, or anything else. You learn to like or hate them based on only what they say.

Its a refreshing change of pace.

Awesome idea, except you need to create a meme to really drive in that "aha" moment for when you reply to one of my terrible ideas you just can't seem to ignore :)

Dude. That's where you're wrong. No one gives a **** at what you've ASSerted. No one really cares. You come here, call everyone an idiot, and when asked why - you say, "Well i'm glad you asked! Read my thread, then we'll talk."

Go **** yourself.  (do it while reading your OP in your thread, and do it if front of a mirror, with various dolls and teddybears.  - that should satisfy you, if not - play with some sock puppets)

You clearly care about what I've asserted. That's why you're so angry.

Might I suggest you lie back, relax, breath and comtemplate the rationality of your anger. Let it go. Now I'm not going to report your language to a mod or anything, because I have faith that you can regain control of your emotions and return when you've settled down.

Have a blessed day.Posted Image

Ah see now you approaching the racism topic, and you're right, you should judge and base the conversation on what is being said, not on who exactly is saying it.

Your confidence does not annoy me. Your arrogance does. Your condescendence. You come in here and basically claim you are the supreme ruler or something. All I am asking you to do is leave us in peace. Disagreeing with us is fine. But seriously, when most of us don't like you and would prefer you not to be here, please take the advice and leave us alone.

Most of you don't like me? I imagine you don't like anyone who exposes the holes in your reasoning. Tough. Get used to it because it's not going to end. This is a forum.

"Arrogance" is what butthurt forumites call unyeilding confidence and unwavering resolve. And I have every right to be "arrogant". I have torn apart your arguments and defended mine effortlessly. In this situation I have no need to be humble especially when dealing with people who, when clearly losing a debate, resort to playing the victim and then running away with their tails between their legs rather than admit they are wrong. All the while while insisting it's because the big bad man over the internets is a meanie. Boo-hoo. Posted Image

I'll demonstrate: Quote anything I've posted in which I've even so much as hinted to being "the supreme ruler".

Or just another case of imagined victimization?

Please, continue to tell me how you're not being arrogant. Then you say you'll stay here just to spite us? Seriously? Now you've descended to the level of a schoolyard bully who has to be mean to others to satisfy their existence. I truly feel sorry for you. Please leave.

I'd love for someone to demonstrate that it is speculation.

So far it seems everyone believes it is indisputable fact judging by their inability to find a single flaw in it.

Okay so the thread is so active even though I have been reading a ton it's possible I still missed people discussing it but how do we explain how Harbinger worked out as the first reaper as far it actually doing what the AI wants it to do? I mean for a reaper to work doesn't the "essence" of the civilization being pumped into the reaper need to first be indoctrinated? Leviathan even says that the process of indoctrination took many cycles to be refined and perfected so how were the Leviathan's indoctrinated by the "AI" they created to be used in the first reaper Harbinger? Unless the motives of the reapers and the leviathans truly do fall completely in line and Harbinger simply understood it's purpose right out of the gate on instinct. Or did the Leviathans somehow give the AI they created with the power of enthrallment that they posses? i wonder about this.

Well, I don't think they have to be indoctrinated to be "ascended". But it does raise a lot of questions as to how it all started, which is ironic, considering it was meant to do the opposite. Like: How did Harbinger harvest the first cycle on his own. There must have been other reapers, or Harby can use Enthrallment, which would be odd.

Good point. This whole story smells fishy. But we just don't have enough info.
How did this AI managed to turn the Leviathans into the first reaper, without reapers to do it, and without the power of indoctrination, which was refind many cycles later?

I enjoyed it. I liked how it made Carolina seem more human instead of just the embodiment of ****iness.

Also, I liked how after Church showed her the logs, she stopped calling him Epsilon and started calling him Church. That was a nice touch.

Although, she needs to stop flirting with Church. It is getting in the way of my ideal pairing of Tucker and Carolina.

You know, I wonder what Hudson and Walters are doing right now. I mean, they've gone dark on Twitter, they haven't made ANY public appearances lately (Even when they were interviewed about the Extended Cut we didn't get to see their faces.), and they basically have been completely off the grid since June. What gives? My bet is that they're sitting somewhere laughing about everything and drinking champagne, celebrating their success at fooling everyone. Well, that's what I think they're doing from an IT perspective, anyway. :)

I'm wondering that too. I mean, here are some possibilities:
1. Bioware never intended IT: They're manipulative and materialistic. They're tricking us into buying DLC because we hope it will either confirm (or honestly deny) IT. Great.
2. They intended IT but won't ever confirm/deny it or realize it: Basically the same as #1. Not sure if worse than #1. Posted Image
3. They intend IT and will realize it: Well it is taking a while. I have enough patience to wait until the end of the DLC cycle, but many others don't. Whatever you're gonna do Bioware - do it fast.

Hey guys, sorry to butt in but I had a question.

You know how after the EC there were investigative options with the Catalyst that supposedly shed more light on how the three choices worked? And how when you selected them there was a brief moment when they depicted scenes that happened during the ending you chose (the soldiers fighting on earth, the crucible firing, etc.), like flashforwards? Well, I just finished playing Leviathan through the ending (and was kind of upset that the only thing that changed was a couple of lines, but that's beside the point) and they weren't there anymore. All it did was show Shepard close her eyes and then the scene kind of stuttered a bit and they continued the conversation. I was just wondering if this was a bug or if they intentionally took the scenes out. I realize these flashforwards weren't amazing, spectacular evidence for IT or anything, but they did indicate something weird was happening in Shepard's mind. It's probably just a bug because it would be kind of strange for them to take out these scenes after they added them in with the EC. Anyway, just wondering if it happened to anyone else.

That's right! I half noticed it last night when I played it! Why would they do that? Or is it a bug? Thanks for bringing this to my attention! :D

No problem :) Thanks for verifying that I'm not going crazy. I was half asleep when I watched the endings. Darn unskippable cutscenes. I think it might be a bug because the scene doesn't flow very well without them. The ghostboy expounds on an option, it shows Shep close her eyes, the scene wigs out a bit and then back to your regularly scheduled deception. I don't know for sure, of course, but it seems weird that they would take them out deliberately unless they were too big of a hint like demersel said.

Hey twilight, you seem like a smart guy. Since we're not arguing particle physics here, why not let this stuff go. A lot of the people in this thread are young and committed. So what if there are holes in their reasoning, you pointed them out, just leave it at that and move on. I like your posts, btw, and I too think dream theory was always dead (in the sense that a wake up DLC was around the corner). I did like a dream theory that required no further expansion, a Total Recall ending, as it were, but Extended Cut and Leviathan are showing that's not really a runner: they're going to keep expanding the endings until they've milked us out of our creds. In which case that leaves the face-value endings with an indoctrination interpretation of synthesis and control.

Still IT, but a lot less neat, because it's not a retcon.

Anyway, the point is, there is no absolute truth or fact in interpretation, there is but plausibility and fit. So let's not argue who has the biggest carniflex of them all, and LET'S TRACK DOWN SOME IMAGES/ VIDEOS OF THOSE DAMNED POPPIES.

That was a nice touch. Did you notice the easter egg about the club York mentioned? Club Errera. Halo: Reach reference. I though it was nice when Caboose talked to Wash about them being friends. The way he said it, like it was undisputed, I don't know. I got the impression Wash may have taken a lot from that. He has been getting to like them better since he was introduced. Next up: Carolina. She's already started down that path too, as evidenced by what uou already said. That's just me though.
