Wow, good to see this still going.
I posted a few times here pre EC and lurked long before that, at that point I was almost certain of the IT being correct and that there was a true ending on the way, then the EC came out and... well I lost what little faith I had left in Bioware as story tellers and stopped coming on the BSN.
Came on today out of curiosity and, I have to say, was very happy to see this thread still on top. I havn't downloaded Leviathan (I'm only paying for dlc if a good ending is released in some form, which seems less than unlikely know) but I know the very basics, that the leviathans wondered why the lesser races were creating AIs that turned on them, so they created an AI and it turned on them (if that is seriously the level of storytelling we've gotten to then I am very happy I turned my back on ME), but I'm curious as to what Leviathan has from an IT stand point, from what I can tell a description of the creation of the star brat doesn't exactly do wonders for IT sadly, but I am very much lacking in knowledge on the subject. So can anyone give me a run down, or far less intrusively, point me to one?
There are quite a few things in Leviathan strengthen the IT.
1. When Leviathan assumes control of Shepard's mind Shepard is in the same position as when he enters the decision chamber. The conversation also is mirrored in several ways, and Shepard is spoken to by members of his past. As Leviathan says "Your memories give voice to our words." It's also shown that Shepard cannot differentiate between what is not reality when his mind is in that state.
2.The Crucible is still portrayed very shady in this dlc with Leviathan looking away suspiciously when asked about it and giving no valuable information.
3.The Catalyst lives in the Citadel, but when the Intelligence was created, the Citadel didn't exist. The Catalyst also differs in a few ways from the original Intelligence. The Intelligence's mandate was to preserve life at any cost, and the cycle was created in search of something. The Catalyst says his purpose is to stop the chaos caused by the inevitable conflict between synthetics and organics and that is why he created the cycle.
There are others as well.
