The thought just came to mind. Leviathans claim the reapers perfected indoctrination. What was originally a tool of the leviathans was vastly improved upon by the reapers over thousands of years. And it clearly shows. Leviathan indoctrination is easy to recognize for what it is than reaper indoctrination. Yet reaper indoctrination is so subtle that thousands of pages have been dedicated to debate whether it's even happening.

An easy to miss detail, yes. Looking deeper, this DLC says a lot about the Reaper Indoctrination, especially Harby's, and how it works at its core and how it has evolved to create a perfect prison and Room 101 for the victim's mind.

Another bit I found interesting is how the Rachni hive mind is compared to Leviathans control.

The Rachni Queen can interact with other peoples minds, even dead bodies, to speak through them...could the Rachni hive mind have evolved along similar paths as the Leviathans, resulting in something which works different from the Leviathan control, but on a similar basis.

Maybe a better question to consider is this. Could Leviathan have had a hand in the Rachnis evolution and survival intending to use them as weapons against the Reapers?

Off course this is countered a bit by the fact that no known link between Leviathan and the Rachni War exists, but it might have been before that as we know the Protheans performed experiments on the Rachni.

Just some random thoughts.

I kind of agree. Protheans had a hand in Asari development (well all species but primarily Asari openly). It would seem that the cycles have repeated events that happen over and over again, with different players performing the same roles.  So having the Rachni as an ancient servant species that the Leviathan created would be interesting. Then again, maybe the Keepers are more likely.

Leviathan contradicts himself or knows something he is not telling because later says "There was no mistake. It still serves its purpose."
Or they programmed it to achieve synthesis and know it is not achieved yet.

He might be holding some things back, but I prefer this explanation:

SparkyRich wrote...

The Catalyst's solution is the result
of incomplete instructions - "garbage in, garbage out." And the
leviathan says that no mistake was made - an obvious lie to itself to
preserve its self-image of perfection.

Could that arrogance be the cause of all this? I mean all the AI's and synthetic life rebelled because they where treated like tools from the beginning. I kind of get the feeling they hinted at something like that with the EDI Shepard conversations, when she asks whats the purpose of synthetic life you can choose between what it's told to do and the free will route. The Leviathans treated the "Intelligence" like a tool and now it's their turn to be treated as tools.

Hubris of Old Gods, who were replaced by more savage and intelligent New Gods, yeah.

I'm thinking that we'll see one more dlc that takes place during the main game's timeline and then we'll see post-ending dlc (should they choose to do one.) I say this because the Galaxy Map has star systems that your cursor can highlight but you can't travel to or get the name of. After the Leviathan dlc it looks like Omega's system is the only one of these hidden systems left. Or am I forgetting one?

That would suggest to me that Omega is the last planned sp dlc that take splace pre-ending. If Bioware chooses to do a post ending dlc, they should give us all the additional story context we would require from the Omega content

Fun fact:
The leviathan files give away some level names for upcoming DLC - Omega becomes a new hub and there are multiple new Citadel levels of unknown purpose.

So the first two DLCs add new stuff to the citadel? Now that's interesting.

A very fun fact, indeed. I was wondering if there were hints on the upcoming DLCs in Leviathan. Any dialogue scripts?

Anyone else noticed the Quick Save Conspiracy?

paxxton wrote...

Vega's appearance was mysterious but the way he talked with Ann seemed to point to a crush between them. The fishy part comes from the fact that the first time you get to the lab with Ann and talk with her she stays by a console in the other room. Vega's appearnace during a cinematic is then sudden and unexpected. But when you Quick Load the game and talk to Ann again, she walks you to the room in which James is playing with the huskhead so you know he's there before the cinematic kicks in.

Could make it a gitch, but his sudden interest in reaper tech is still worth noting.

that was just you. a small glitch, just like the dialog cutout with javik on the normandy. that scene played totally fine for me. and i highly HIGHLY doubt james and ann would ever flirt. there would be no point to that at all.

you can visit the system where Ilium is.  - Very interesting description on it.  It open up for me with the leviathan's mission - not sure if it was added with the leviathan, or always was there.

I was disappointed in the lack of hub areas in ME3. I hope future SP DLC continue to add new hub areas.

Yes he was. And given, that Mordin is already dead - there is really no point for him being on ME3 team

Really? I agree, this is a fun fact!  Maybe once we find out what Cerberus wanted with Omega, we go crawling through the Citadel tunnels looking to find the real objective of their invasion?

You forgot Tali and I'm sure he said he did some writing for LoTSB, as well as much of the background chatter and.. I think he may have been the one who wrote Samantha Traynor?

Nothing to really do with IT, but it's great that we'll be getting more interesting characters for DA3.

He may have already finished all his writing for the ME3 by now (it has been six months since game released.) And he is a writer - once he has written all there is to write, the start to build it, and he can do other stuff.

By this logic - we have six month work on content written by him for ME3 universe that we can look forward to, that we have yet to see.

Logic is in short supply on BSN apparently.

Authorities are often stronger than logic: if Bioware suggests it might've been the Citadel, one tends to rather believe that, no matter how odd.

But to quote Feynman: "What do you care what other people think?"

I have a strong aversion to close-minded, illogical people?

Ok, that came out wrong.

But come to think of it, it DOES apply to when we criticize non-ITers with poor arguments.

Not sure if I'm glad or disappointed Weekes was transferred to DA3; he was probably my favourite ME3 writer so it means I might actually get DA3, but it also means he's done writing for ME3.

Anyway, anything interesting come up lately in relation to IT?
