Technically, the Dark Energy plot was always Preservation of Organic Life when you think about it.

The dark energy plot was already too stupid to be real. If it was ever going to happen, then it was going to be the lie that Starbinger tells instead of his current one. It was never going to be the Reapers' real motive. They did too good a job on the science of the game to forget for 6 years that the galaxy isn't the universe.

Nothing to really do with IT, but it's great that we'll be getting more interesting characters for DA3.

Characters wasn't DA2's weak point. It was storytelling and plot. The only major problem they had with DA2's characters was that when they wrote Anders (and to a lesser extent, Fenris) they forgot the golden rule of gamer mentality: no complaining is allowed. EVER. It doesn't matter how well justified the complaining is. If you took the gaming community to 1940's Germany, they'd tell the jews to quit being crybabies. No matter what a character has gone through or is going through, anything that can be perceived as whining will be. And then the gamers will whine about it. Because it's one thing to watch your family be liquified by batarians who then enslaved you, but it's a whole nother to listen to some character **** in a video game. THAT'S real pain, you see.

Ahh okay, I thought this was a place for speculating and building the theory. However, it seems the literalists who come in here are right about you guys. You just pat each other on the backs, can't accept realities and push anyone out that doesn't fall in line. Enjoy your kool aid, I'll be in the real indoctrination thread

No need to worry.

Well, if you're sleeping properly (which I guess it doesn't often sound like you are lol) then you are dreaming a lot, you just don't remember. Posted Image Kind of like being ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL'd.

It sounds wierd but it's true. If you start shouting in a dream, it'll come out as a raised voice in your sleep. Then you'll hear yourself talking even as you do it. Sometimes breaks the dream too, just like trying to look into a mirror or reflective surface in a dream. You realize you're dreaming and instead of being lucid, you reject it and wake up.

Is that why when I get really scared in a dream and try to scream, I can never do it? And it just comes out as like a quiet little noise?

(Which just makes the dream scarier, since I cant yell for help or anything :()

This is very true. Although your own voice being so weak is because it's not ready for use. Like an engine that hasn't been oiled yet.

Yeah, estebanus constantly has nightmares. It must be horrible for him. He often wakes up at night, sweating, breathing heavily.

No, hostility, just impatient since this keeps coming up and it's rediculous on its head. Now you're going into total speculation with "concrete-like". I remember playing the Wards in ME1 and 2 and they didn't seem to use concrete. It's just ineffiecient for a space station. Line the outside walls with concrete radiation shielding, but there's no reason to make supports out of concrete inside. Even if they were using it for radiation shielding, it's prone to decay and cracks.

How is it ridiculous? Please ellaborate.

Yes, we are speculating. Everything concerning the locale of the breathe scene is speculation. We have no way of knowing what that rubble is compased of; Metal, a form of concrete or something else alltogether. I have no clue what the wards are made off. Neither do you. The Council Chambers look like mostly concrete to me. The floors also don't sound metallic. But then once you walk up the stairs, the area around the podium is metal. There is even a change in sound effect to reflect this. The Presidium looks like finished concrete as well. So do the wards. The rails look metallic and certain areas have metallic floors, which have their own sound effect.

Citadel looks like this to me.

I don't think either of us are qualified to state what is or isn't efficient for space station in the year 2186 in the mass effect universe.

"And I'll die free."

This may be exactly what would happen in IT. Shepard break indoc, but dies.

Did anyone notice that Shepard is very echoey in that room. Just like the Guardian. I only really noticed after Levy, but it is very weird. Surreal even. Thoughts?

Edit: I'm on a roll! Take it! Posted Image

I think Shepard's voice has an echo when Leviathan is speaking to him as well.  I'd check again to confirm this but I can't do so at the moment

Did you see that the camera was shaking while the thralls were speaking? Like on Rannoch but more noticeably, meaning that enthrallment is less subtle than indoctrination.

Hmm, no I did not see this.  When I play through the dlc again, I'll need to look for this.

Also, paxxton, I've always noticed your control banner but I finally realized just how healthy it is that you have that banner.  I mean, everyone needs a back up choice should the IT interpretation not pan out, and you were perhaps the first ITer I'm aware of to display this reality with pride.  Kudos to you sir!

If you're curious, my literalist ending of choice is still Synthesis though Leviathan almost changed that.

Anyway, no real reason why I went off on that tangent but I felt it should be voiced

Indeed. I put Leviathan in my comment precisely because that dlc probably has a lot of implications that I haven't realized yet, for both ending points of view

Did anyone see my Leviathan sound files dump from a few pages back? There was some interesting stuff there.

Actually I did. A couple days ago I lurked in these audio files too. What's most suprising for me is the overall amount of them. If you listen to random files in the catalog you will hear not only Levi sound files, or new catalyst dialog options, but also, for example, death of Zaeed. Or Garrus talking about blue babies. I mean, what's the point in putting already existing files again in the DLC? There's over six and a half thousand of them! I haven't yet looked into amount of the original audio files to compare, but this looks to me like they put whole another full-game sound catalog in the files, to - for example - cover every minor change they did throughout entire game with the DLC release. That would be the best way to hide that fact. I mean, who's gonna listen all 6500 files and compare?

Also, file #2710 to #2729. Learning dog to fetch and sit? Where the hell thought the game was any dog we played with? :| In addition, it's preety weirdly put in between completely not related lines. Before #2710 and after #2730 there are strictly Cortez ones.

Sigh, see now we're going into the question "is a free AI a form of life deserving or rights or still just a machine?"

I'm up for that philosophy discussion if you want but be warned: it might derail the thread haha

I've never understood the idea that the geth and EDI could be easily replaced.

You could recreate their bodies, sure, but both the geth and EDI were based on Reaper code. It'd be kind of hard to replace them.

And even if you did, they wouldnt be the same, just copies.

RvB spoilers:

This is why I still am not exactly ok with Church being Epsilon. Though I think currently Banshee is probably the only one here who even understands the reference

That file is ALL the dialog from Leviathan, plus the choice sequence, plus the squadmate banter.
It's 6300 files, and the youtube video would be several hours in length.

ie, no
It really is easier to just grab the zip file :P

This pic isnt really big enough to fully see what I mean (if you right click and view image, it gets bigger, but still not really enough), but you can kind of see the rubble behind Shep and Anderson.

Plus there's that whole codex entry that states that changing an AI's blackbox fundamentally changes their personality. So in essence, even recovering and storing their memories in a new quantum computer would still be a new being and not resurrecting the original
