Alright guys, I think I'm going to be leaving for now. Going to do a little soul searching right now, maybe play a little Mass Effect, remind myself of why I believed this in the first place, reassure myself that we're right, no matter what Jessica says. And until BioWare is done releasing DLC and releases ME4, there's still a chance that we'll get what we want.

Dwailing, before you go, read the conversation on page 740-744!!

What if Tom doesn't have time? The beam will remain unprotected. Posted Image

Interesting, but little-known fact - While Harbinger acts as the Face and Voice of the reapers, it is actually Tom, who is behind day-to-day planning, strategy, coordination, and supply of the reaper forces. He's also the one in charge of coordinating the work of all the processing facilities all over the galaxy, and delivery of reaper ground forces to the battlefields.
So each second, he's occupied by guarding the beam brings you closer to victory.

TOM (The Other Menace) is the beuraucrat behind the throne. LOL Posted Image

IT is a valid interpretation. IT is as valid as the 'brown ending' or the face value ending.

One of the problems arises when people believe that the IT is actually canon - that the ending was really a hallucination and there is more to come.

Merizan, Priestly, and Ackland have all stated there is no more to come. If your interpretation of IT requires more content after the breath scene you will be sadly disappointed.

Any interpretation is valid to the person to whom it belongs. Bioware has shown us how they want to end the series. We can interpret that in any way we want, but that is where it has to end as there is no more content down the road. Bioware ended Mass Effect with RGB. We can see that anyway we want but it doesn't change the established canon of what bioware presented.

yes. Exactly my point. And with the PR puppet (Harbinger) taken out of the picture he will have to step out of his comfort zone (the shadows) and face you directly.

He was also the who attacked shepard in the prologe - Destroyed the admiral board meeting chamber, and shot beams at shepard, and the buildin he was in. Also he was the one who projected the vent kid into shepards brain in the first place.

What the hell's with all the people getting depressed over Merizan's months old tweets? She's about the least reliable voice at BW, and Good GOD is that saying something.

I'm still trying to work out what he actually said.  The only thing that makes sense with referring to 'it' is that the preview didn't having Martin Sheen saying "I'm not done yet!"  But it did, so he can't be referencing that.

Unless he's a really crappy liar.

But yeah, I'm very suspitious of the language used.  When asked if there's future expansion packs planned, they keep saying 'no post-ending dlc'.  That's a bit of a non-answer, that's like asking if you're taking your car to work and saying 'the buses aren't running today'.

Not to mention by their definition of ME3 being an ending from start to finish, any post-Crucible content is still part of the ending and not after it.

Problem is, they are so vague you can twist their words to mean anything at all!

They're trying to discredit what Tully Ackland said. Tully is probably more reliable than Merizan.

Does he?  I don't remember.  Could you maybe find a video of it?

It's from the dialog excerpt TSA posted a few days ago. Don't remember the page though...

"To find a solution, it required information--physical data drawn from organic life in the cosmos."
"It created an army of pawns that searched the galaxy, gathering this data."
"As the intelligence evolved, it studied the development of civilizations. Its understanding grew until it found a solution.
In that instant, it betrayed us."
"The Intelligence has one purpose: preservation of life. That purpose has not been fulfilled."
"Unknown. Until the Intelligence finds what it is looking for, the harvest will continue."

It's like they are saying it already knows Synthesis is the solution but it needs something to achieve it, my guess would be it's Shepard.
Also this line that was added in the EC comes to mind
"The cycle will end, the Reapers will cease their harvest, and the civilizations preserved in their forms will be connected to all of us."

If you look at it like the end is actually Stargazer, then yeah, there will be nothing after that except ME4. But they can still alter the decision chamber and add other things. But Stargazer will not be changed.

I'd be able to stomach Stargazer if other things were fixed.  Heck, I'd probably be just about able to stomach the bad ending if I had more payoff during the Battle for Earth and the whole game wasn't a fetch quest to gather big numbers.

Well, maybe.  Only thing saving me from saying ME3 is a bad game is the majority of the story being good, the voice acting and music being perfect and the fact ME1 and ME2 were overall so good.  Said it before, will say it again, ME3 needed another 9 to 12 months development time.

I'm pretty sure I have a better life than you'll ever have. Calling other people drugged because they have a different opinion is plain childish. However, you have proven beyond a shadow of doubt that you can't possibly be more than 16 years old(at least mentally), so I can't really blame you.

Go on, insult the ITers. I'll just be sitting over here laughing my ass off about how pathetic some people can be.

Batman is a bigger classic than Mass Effect ever will be, but your username is nothing but the title of the video game itself.
His statement is essentially the same as what you've been doing the whole damn time. You've been sticking your fingers in your ears, calling everyone here stupid or on drugs. This just proves that something must be fundamentally wrong with your psyche, or your perception of reality.

Having recently played both Lev and the Choice-o-Matic, one thing struck me. When Shep gets to the chamber, s/he looks up, and clearly watches the kid walk up. Doesn't respond, though, until the kid speaks. Very much like Levy. I'm thinking that the super-direct, blast-you-into-my-dreamspace approach leaves the host in that cold dark place until the controller pulls you out of it - i.e. in neutral, no thoughts happening, no reactions, just.. nothing.

Oh, and I'm with Rif - We've heard so much conflicting nonsense that until the DLC arc is over, I'm not counting out IT as the answer to my 'What the Hell just happened' moment.

Go and replay destroy. After the EC, it feels victorious. More so than the other two. the music, the scenes, everything, just screams 'YEAH' at you. Real pick-me-up.

Yes, I'm now happy with the literal view on one ending. Yes, I still think IT covers the facts far better than the direct approach.

Peace. Stay with this. No-one gets answers easy, and no-one gets the right answer without a lot of brain-work. Even with the foreshadowing of the AI, the kid still lies to you. His purpose is not to preserve all life no matter the cost. One of these two giant squids lies, and my money is on the one who's been haunting my Reaper-infested dreams from the start.

Speculate easy, my friends.

Hackett is giving a Destroy narration, because supposedly, he's the only one alive, to that we know, with the authority to give it.  (in control - shepard is dead but becomes the mind of reapers, so it is his voice.)
In synthethis Shepard is dead, but EDI is alive - and out of shapard's closest circle she seems as if shehas the most to say on the subject (if legion was alive it would be him)
In destroy everyone is dead, including shepard, and EDI, and the normandy is stranded annd cut off for a long time, anderson is dead, so it leaves only hackett alive, that we know about.

Im pretty sure it was that Reaper you saw coming down on the city that shot the building, you know the one you see walking around. IT is a good theory but its also bad because it really does cause people to things out their arse  like this beginning scene just to try and validate their own theory.

I will never accept EC endings, because as far as i am concerned - normandy pick up - is what tells me that it is all bull****, AND NOTHING after that even matters for me. I'm sorry, no. Normandy swoops in and pick up shepard's teammates, right under the nose of harbinger who clerly sees it and does NOTHING.You just lost me there.
If the normandy were even able to come that close to the beam, why bother with the pick up? Why bother with the beam run at all??? In ME1 joker drops the mako into a 3X3 meter area. Why can't they do the same with a kodiak shuttle? Or why can't they jump out of the normandy on foot, while it sweeps in high speed - so the velocity will propell the troop right into the beam? (it is a teleport after all - if they get into the beam the don't have to worry about surviving the landing(

No. It is either a great ****-up. or it is done on porpose. The presense of normandy pick-up nulifies all credability to EVERYTHING that happens after that. (which is ALL OF THE EC)

If normandy pick up is literal and not a hallucination, then Mass Effect is far beyound any hope of redemtion, and no DLC will EVER change that.
