Hello ITer's I have been lurking in this thread for ages.  When Ifirst completed ME3 I was left with a distinct feeling of WTF, then I saw an IT vid on youtube and have been hooked ever since (on ITanyway)  My interest has picked up recently with Leviathan and so I fired up ME3 again.  Anyway when I first went into the room with Garrus in it, I heard laughter at the far end of the room on the right hand side, I remembered this from my first playthrough as well. It's never quiet in my house and it was late etc but I definately heard laughter like an audio hallucination. I don't know if this has been mentioned before and sorry if its very old news. I've lurked for ages but havn't read all 5000 pages yet, I mean I have to work and look after the kids and all that.  Anyway continue the speculations.

Maybe it was Tali hiding under Garrus' weapon bench?

But seriously, I have never heard any laughter or seen anybody mention it, I'll pay attention the next time I'm down there

Another thing I mentioned ~100 pages ago and still find strange: After Leviathan, James constantly hears the hum, every single f***ing time I'm talking to him, I first get the mission related line and then "You hear that hum?"
Every. Single. Time.
Either it's just my own mind going nuts or Leviathan changed his dialogue a little, because I'm almost certain this line was quite rare pre-Levy
Correct me if I'm wrong please

WHOA.  Super slow in here....anyway....

I have heard that a lot people are saying the same. So BioWare certainly did something...

For an in game explaination I would say that indoctrination is much stronger in James now. He was bit by the Husk head and I say nanides are infecting him. ;)

So it probably wasn't a good idea to have it shipped to my cabin then?

Got a quote from Garrus: "The Reapers are just a giant nightmare factory [...]"

And to make sure I'm not indoctrinated I got myself a tinfoil hat

Ever wonder if the Reapers want Shepard because his leadership skill imbued in a Reaper could make indoctrination more effective?

Yeah, but it'd be nice if you could quote the whole quote. Is it about Banshees?

And yes, there's nothing better to prevent indoctrination than a good ol' tinfoil hat. Posted Image

I think they want Shepard because of how important she is to the galaxy. Shepard is a symbol of hope, and for a lot of people, that's all they have left. Maybe they think that if they take her out, the rest of the galaxy will fall in line more easily?

Or maybe it's just good old fashioned revenge!

From their point of view I bet taking Shepard out would be a waste of a potential resource. Better to incorporate him into Reaper plans.

I doubt it. Nanites arent exactly an unknown term in the ME universe and if anyone should know about or be able to detect such things it would be EDI.

I mean James actually asks if he will turn into a Husk and EDI simply tells him to apply Medigel. I cant imagine that with all the people who have been attacked by Husks that no one ever found Nanite injection in its bite, especially not when this paticular specimen has been dissected into smaller part and examined by someone who is well aware of the risks (I know people have been before and still succumbed).

Just been playing ME3 for a bit again and done the Javik aquisition mission, and its funny how dialogue takes on new significance when viewed through IT.  When Javik is talking to Shepherd on the Normandy  and talking about his ability to "read" people Javik says "I sense fear in you, apprehension ..... the reapers are winning" Now it may be he was just talking about the general situation, but the way he said it, and also the context that he was using ie Shepherds thoughts/feelings makes me think maybe Javik has sensed that Shep is undergoing indoctrination. Theres also the fact that Shep just stares at Javik afterwards as though in shock., but anyway just my thoughts.

Maybe not take her out, but perhaps pull her over to their side. Think how much damage they could do with an indoctrinated Shepard!

Someone mentioned nanides? Posted Image If the huskhead was breathing them out, Shepard could be infected much earlier than the confrontation with TIM. That would make UNIT and IT more consistent with each other. Posted Image

Probably not. Even if it doesn't inject nanides, it still isn't a good idea.

Codex on Indoctrination:

"The precise mechanics of the indoctrination effect are poorly understood. It is believed that the Reapers generate an electromagnetic field, waves of infrasound and ultrasound, or both in order to stimulate areas of a victim's brain and limbic system. The resulting effect varies depending on the intent of the Reaper: the victim may suffer headaches and hallucinations, have feelings of "being watched" or paranoia, or come to view the Reaper itself with superstitious awe. Ultimately, the Reaper gains the ability to use the victim's body to amplify its signal, manifesting as voices within the victim's mind."

So you would have a Reaper Husk head in your room sending out Reaper signals...

I don't really know what this means, if it doens't simply mean they didn't think Shepard could find them.

It sounds really symbolic to me, but I think it can be interpreted "literrally," or what have you. I just think it is too epic and deep of a phrase to simply mean "betcha can't find me!" :pinched:

The answer must be hidden somewhere in Leviathan DLC cause at the beginning Leviathan says Shepard cannot breach the darkness and when they meet face to face he says he has.
