Frodo would do nothing, and wait for Gollum, the true hero, to destroy the ring for him.
Maybe Bioware are doing DLC with Mass Effect's Gollum? The one who will immolate himself for Crucible instead of Shepard.

Yeah, but at the time it was released no one new what exactly Mass Effect was all about. Yknow, trailers show out-of-context images and even the most important ones aren't recognizable if you haven't played the game. Besides the choice you got to make in ME1 were so unlike anything done before that BioWare wanted to show them off.Rifneno wrote...

I agreed with you until I actually watched the video. The trailer spoiled the hell out of it. Its not like the ME2 launch trailer where like half of the scenes are from the Collector Base, but you dont know that until after you've played the game. its just a straight up spoiler.
By the way, the ME2 launch trailer is far superior to the ME1 trailer.

Exactly. They didn't just splice together a few random scenes that make no sense, you could tell Ash was going to get left with the nuke from it.
The trailer that I found myself in awe of the most was the original Coates in Big Ben one. When it panned out and you saw that a) it was Earth,

I had always assumed that we'd find a way to stop them from getting here in the first place, not beat them once they were here.

Thats like saying they could include the entirety of the destroy ending in a trailer, but its ok because you can also choose control or synthesis.

Oh no, the Reapers were the great revelation of ME1. They couldn't have just included Sovereign (they showed a glimpse though). The trailer established the main enemy of the game and showed his minions. Plus, introduced Shepard's goal to stop Saren and some other key features (like the romances).Rifneno wrote...
I think the ME1 trailer could've used something to show WHY Saren was so dangerous. I don't mean spoil the reveal about the Reapers, but at least show the geth overwhelming some allied military. And definitely show a flyby of Sovereign with a voice-over from some characters about how incredibly powerful it is. Sh... Shal... damnit I can't remember how to spell her name. The asari that Shepard saves from the Thorian, she gave a pretty good "dude, like seriously, you won't believe how awesome Saren's ship is" speech. The viewer doesn't have to know that Sovereign is an ancient sentient malignancy but they should be made aware that Saren's flagship is ME1's equivalent to the Death Star.
And it's Shiala.

The Reapers are the greatest reveal, yes. Not the fact that Saren has an uber powerful ship. That was established all the way back on Eden Prime. IIRC there was even some "WTF? A ship that big can't enter an atmosphere... what... what the hell is that thing?!" dialogue. Hell, the survivors talked more about Sovereign than they did about the geth that actually attacked them.

Speaking of when everyone said Sovereign shouldnt be able to enter the atmosphere, why was he the only Reaper to leave the entire area scorched as well as a huge smoke trail and tons of weird red lightning when it took off?

What? No, I mean enemy geth. The lore is explained by Councilor Tevos saying there's still some geth out there with Reaper code. The regular trooper is literally the only enemy on the faction that isn't cheap and/or buggy. The hunters are fast and even fire while staggered, the pyros' damage range is way the hell longer than the flame graphic shows it being, the rocket trooper fires double or even triple rockets sometimes and even fires through walls, the prime's cannon staggerlocks many characters and his turrets (which he can throw through walls) do retarded dps for being a quick recast pet. Oh and he can have like 3 at a time if he wants.

Huh. I never noticed any of that. I find geth to be the easiest of all three enemy types.

Err... how... what... I don't even... geth are pretty much universally dispised, even on the MP forums where half the people solo gold. They buffed them up so much to try and stop people farming them on FBW. Which did absolutely nothing to stop the FBW farming but did make them utterly terrible for people just trying to play a legitimate random game.
