 @ Demersel,
I find this Omega point highly interesting considering your find of the novels on the Devs desk. I commend you for this find! I'm off to find a copy of the novels.
Also, do you work for Bioware and are really here to drop clues??  :P

Sorry, for spoiling you whole 4 volumes worth of read then...
And no, sadly I do not work for Bioware....^_^

If someone in this thread did work for Bioware, who would it be, and who would they actually be?
I'm obviously Evil-Chris Priestly Posted Image

I'm obviously Jessica Merizan.

I'm on top! You like it that way, don't you, banshee?

So assuming that the Indoctriantion Theory is 100% true, everything that happens after the beam is all in Shepard's head and it's all just Harbinger trying to indoctrinate him/her...

What do you suppose happens to Shepard once they've been indoctrinated? Say Destroy is the correct path to break free of Harbinger's control, what do you think the outcome of Control or Synthesis would be if it's all a dream? Would Harbinger really let Shepard control the Reapers? Would Shepard just wake up to discover they've become a husk? Or does Shepard just die?

Would Control and Synthesis essentially lead to the same outcome of Shepard being indoctrinated? Anyone have any guesses?

Shepard fails, the cycle possibly fails...but not necesarily immediately.

I have aired the idea many times that certain events, characters and objects might give Shepard a second wind, a second chance to either break free or end his life before he causes any damage (Saren style) and that through that victory might still be achieveable through a bad choice.

Such a thing would obvius require very specific events and a high degree of preparation so that you can win even if you face a set back of that magnitude. It would without doubt cause alot more death than Shepard simply succeding.

My oldest idea on this is the Rachni Queen. She can resist Indoctrination and interact with the minds of living creatures. She promised to "add her voice to ours" and the developers siad the Rachni choice would have a big impact on the ending.

Adding her voice to ours could be by interacting with Shepards mind, breaking the Reapers hold for a short time and giving us time to finish the fight...the cost, could be her own life. The last queen of a race feared in the galaxy for so long giving her life to save its hero in his and the galaxies most desperate hour...there is a beaty in that.

Just an old idea I air every once in a while :)

Edit: By the way that Omega Point theory is really, really interesting.

If I worked for BioWare and I was one of the major people of BioWare I would be either Michael Gamble or Mac Walters. I would be able to play ME3 DLC before anyone else!!! BWHAHAHAH!!!

(Also demersel I wrote some notes in the doc that could/need to be answered eventually.)

I've had similar ideas. Liara could possibly do this? Maybe something Like this:
1. Destroy = best outcome Shepard lives
2. Control = Victory may be possible like you said, possible option to commit suicide or sacrifice in another way
3. Synthesis = no win scenario Shepard dies, cycle continues
4. Refuse = Someone has to kill Shepard maybe? I don't know, refuse is still the wild card here

Maybe not Liara specifically, but love interests. Off course since most players have these they had to be in the lower end of the scale...possibly a scenario where Shepard shoots his love interest as she stries to make him snap out of it, realizes what he has done and turns the gun to himself...that would be heartbreaking.

I would absolutely love that! (As long as there is a possibility to avoid it obviously.) I am huge fan of good outcomes in ME that are hard to achieve, like Geth-Quarian peace/ME2 endrun with everyone alive.

Wow. That was disappointing... Once again I am reminded why I almost exclusively post on this thread. I just made one, and it is already spammed with trolls, idiots, and generally useless forumites. Come on people! I guess BSN sucks just as much as anywhere else. No wonder people don't believe IT.

Here's my thread.

Same, one of my oldest ideas for a possible Mass Effect 3 Shepard dead, but still victory ending had Shepard and CO having done...something. Everything is exploding as they try to evacuate and suddenly a explosion knocks Shepard to the ground leaving him trapped under some rubble.

Now my idea was that if Shepard had a love interest she would immediately turn around and try to free him, but get shot or otherwise wounded making her fall over baeside him. Too heavily wounded to move, but still alive.

Rubble or explosions prevent the squad from getting there and Shepard and his/her LI share one last close moment before dying together.

Tragic...but fitting if you ask me...I dont know why, but I always loved the image of two loved ones together as death comes even if it is sad...

I stopped laughing when I realized this is exactly what ME3 is. The reapers are said throughout the game to be invulnerable to conventional attacks, and indoctrination is an unstoppable force. Shepard is a symbolic immovable object. Her resolve is her greatest weapon, similar to how the reapers' greatest weapon is indoctrination. Think about it... It's an epic battle.

I think the troll attack is worse. The silence just proves that it's troll resistant and no one can argue against my valid proof. Since the truth is inarguable it must mean the WNT is true!!! :D

On the meme...I saw that and had a similar thought the first time I saw it. You put it into words better than I could of though!!!
