In ME1 you could chose what planet Shepard was born on. And my Shepard wasn't from Earth.

Anyway I think battle for the Galaxy is quite more enticing than Earth :-)

Also, I honestly don't care about Earth if it's scifi like ME and there's a galaxy full of (IMO better) alternatives. I guess that one is rather accustomed to being told to care about it....but then, maybe I'm just not enough of a philantropist.

I just stumbled upon this......quite an interesting read, and created over three years ago.

Check out the top two "mysteries".

Good lord, the speculations started 3 years ago.... Bring it on Bioware!

Planet Klencory - IMPORTANT********  Planet famously claimed by an eccentric Volus billionaire who had a vision granted to him by an advanced being to seek on this planet the "lost crypts of beings of light."  These entities were supposedly created at the beginning of time to protect organic life from "machine devils."  HMMMMMMMM....

goddess...

Either the ending is has been randomly picked by looking at the planet descriptions already established. Or it is exactly in the way it was intended more than 2 years ago.

Even though ME2's story did not revolve around dark energy. 'Twas merely foreshadowed.

So true.

Also, my Shepard wasn't born on Earth either. How come I never get to worry about my home planet, or at least try to get some information about what is going on over there, if the Reapers went there or what? Weird.

Or did they mention it in the game and I just missed it?

Anderson is all like "ohh I was born in London, Shepard..." How come Shepard never say "Really? Screw London, my home planet has turned to hell too."

I'll admit, I do care about Earth.  I mean it's the frakking home of humanity people!  If it wasn't for Earth, we wouldn't be here (Or on any of those other planets.).

Well, it's not that I don't care about it. It's just that, for me, fighting for the whole galaxy is much more enticing than fighting for Earth.

For example, I would easily sacrifice Earth to save the whole galaxy. Ok, maybe not "easily", but still, you know what I mean.

This part is weird, indeed. Why would he say "someone" instead of "Shepard"?
And who were he refering to when he said "She did it", if not to Shepard? Did he mean like "She did it, she got someone to the citadel"? I don't get it.

If there'd be a choice to sacrifice Earth to save Palavan/Thessia/Citadel, I'd have done it :P

Did some research, didn't find anything really useful, just some funny coincidences:

Posted Image
(Notice the coloring :P)

Blue (frontal lobe): If damaged, the person doesn't think about consequences, sticks to unimportant details and shows antisocial behavior
Green (parietal lobe): nothing important, just something funny: people with gerstmann syndrome show a left-right disorientation ;)
Red (occipital lobe): contains visual cortex, the ability to see (the truth? ^_^)

Probably doesn't mean anything, it's the coloring of the pic that got me thinking

Talking about planet descriptions, I stumbled once into a thread that had a link to this blog. It's an interesting read and helped me connect a few dots between ME and ME2 especially about Cerberus.

I think it was mentioned a long time ago, but one of the datapads on Noveria in ME1 foreshadowed ME2's story about colonists abductions. The one just before the room in which Benezia was.

I remember there beeing a Codex entry or mention of the Collectors in ME1 and speculation that they might be important to the plot of ME2...which they were to say the least.

In fact - if you read through cerberus news daily archive - thee is A LOT of very relevant info there, that foreshadowed ME3 events, and maybe even some that has yet to come.

Love that stuff...  there were even more in ME2.  For instance I remember finding some gas giant that was something of a Bermuda Triangle.  Ships would just randomly go missing there.  Too many to be coincidence, but no trace of anything was ever found.  There's so many fascinating planet descriptions in this series.

Check uut this one -
Planet Altaaya - Once had an atmosphere. It was violently and quickly stripped away by some unknown cataclysm of extreme magnitude. What ever happened had to be BIG.

Reapers are known to have climat changing tech. two times we encountered this, and both times there was a beam involved.

Planet Logan - A survey team that charted this area twenty years ago reported many strange disturbances in Logan's cloud band. There were many remarkably large and solid objects beneath the cloud tops, but as the ship approached to see what they were, they subsided into the gas giant's thick gas layer, never to be seen again.

When i first saw the beam on earth, i thought that was the purpose of the beam, erasing the atmosphere of earth. Altering the climate on the planet.

But then, well.. let's just not get into details.

I agree. If you care only for Earth it's kinda against the whole idea of Shepard's deeds. S/he unites different races to fight aginst common threat, teaches krogans and turians to work together.

S/he never discriminates against aliens. (Even more, my Shepard always tended to be more attracted to aliens than humans). Uses all the strengths of the different spieces to make an ideal team.

If you live in 22 century you somehow need to think wider and accept the whole Galaxy as home.

So I also think this Earth patriotic thing is out of place. If it was aimed at newcomers... boring.
My Shep fights for her friends. In fact, Normandy is her home.

"Battle for Normandy" - that would be a name for the ending :-)
