I finished the Leviathan DLC two days ago, and I read a few threads related to the subject, just to get the "feel" about how it is perceived. I read here recently that some thought that Leviathan did put another nail into IT's coffin, but I can't see why some support or accept this idea in general.
Harbinger is the Leviathan's "collective mind" into Reaper form, and he's there at the end, behind the conduit, shooting at soldiers. According to IT, the "reason" the Reapers need Shepard is to use him as deterrent for the Alliance troops' spirits. But since the Reapers will eventually find the whereabouts of the Leviathans, and probably kill them, why would the "collective Leviathan mind" (Harbinger) not try to prevent that in any way? Since Shepard escaped the Leviathans (there were at least 3...) by showing them he really is an "anomaly", how come the "collective mind-Harbinger" wouldn't be stricken by the same conclusion? Since individual Reapers have different "personalities" and do not see all "organics" in the same, diminutive way Sovereign saw them, why would Harbinger-Leviathan not see indoctrinating Shepard as a way to fulfill his own agenda, without contradicting the Catalyst's objectives ?
