Ok. Lets just drop this subject and move on before some mod comes in here and locks the thread for discussing things that are about as unrelated from IT as it is possible to be.

Fine, I'll drop it. I've gotta go kill a dragon in GW 2 anyway in 25 minutes, anyway.

Is GW2 fun? I dont really plan to play it since I've already sunk far too much time into WoW to start playing another MMO.

Oh, certainly! It's really fun! I love it how the world constantly changes even without your interference, and the gameplay is really responsive as well!
It's a fine example of your choices mattering!

I'm on top! Where's Banshee!?

Take it from a fellow WoW player since 2004ish closed beta. Well, ex-player.

I'm having fun playing it and It's very different in a good way. I just started this weekend and I'm taking my time because there is not really that feeling of falling behind or missing things.

What server are you on?

I'm just wondering... Even "Trolls" relate more to IT while bashing on it than some here that constantly refer to other unrelated stuff. This is a fun thread sometimes, but this is becoming increasingly annoying. I just read Arian Dynas' short message a few pages ago, and I felt bad for him, and despites that, and all the hard work done by many here, I can see how not caring or not reading other's posts seriously can lead to collective disappointment.

Banshee Ownage wrote a "wall of text" trying to evaluate the impact of EC, and in the following pages almost no one took a few minutes to answer something more than "Wow!" to it, the first time it was posted. Many here follow parallel "discussions", and I'm trying to follow most of them, but Katawa Shoujo and stuff, frankly...

Sup guys! hope you got a some nice speculations out of that mysteries list earlier!!

This is one I'm particularly interested in...

Planet Zaherux - Has seas of loose silica dust. Many probes have been lost there over the years, an extranet meme goes around saying that the dust is actually nanobots that though usually dormant, wake up to defend the planet periodically. These nanobots, if real, are suspected to predate the Protheans by a civilization more advanced and powerful than they were. This might be reaper tech at work, seeing as the Protheans were probably the most advanced race as they were the ones that were able to replicate a Mass Relay to throw a kink in the reaper's plans. Or it could be the work of the Collectors

Another Leviathan planet anyone??

Also, got around to playing the first lab section of Leviathan, just a couple of observations......

1. There is a picture (or half a picture of someone who looks very like the Starchild!), this has probably been discussed here but it's located on the murder wall, in the very top left hand corner.

2. There is a rumble / humming noise near the leviathan orb.

3. I had a look at some of the post-it notes. I'm no sleuth so they mean nothing to me but some of you in here may be able to interpret something from them....Posted Image

"location unknown - 82.65.A.71"

"Temp. 756°F. is that right"

Those seem to be the two important ones. but as I said, they mean nothing to me but I have a strange feeling there is more to them.

sorry if all of this has been previously discussed too.

Agreed - that is a very serious problem - we can get too self centered here. And some of us tend to go WAY off topic.

The problem is that the IT community is kind of... a new community. It is appart from the rest of BSN and thus it would require an own forum with different threads.

IT also suggests Harbinger may want Shepards mind for the new reaper.

Also, I'm having trouble understanding exactly what you mean regarding Leviathan-Harbinger thing, iconoclaste

That's true. The IT community is really large, which is why it gets really off-topic from time to time. It would be easier to simply have an IT forum, but that's not likely to happen.

Didn't you read the last 2 pages? That should give you a clear impression of what he's talking about.

Everytime it goes off topic someone whinges about it, which annoys me more than the OT stuff except when it lasts way too long.

Maybe you'd prefer the topic to get locked down for this? Or are you saying that, since IT sometimes makes a clear distinction between the "us" and "them", you are entitled to go off-topic as much as you want, while readers have not their say in anything?

I would rather read your arguments regarding proposed hints by others than your ranting on "foreigners"...

There's certainly some improvements to be made, but this thread would probably be dead if it wasn't for the friendships built. Also, this is not officially the IT thread, it's the de facto IT thread. To be honest, there isn't a whole lot to discuss. Mark 1 and 2 were pretty long, covered almost everything. Do things get missed? Yes, and it's unfortunate. But part of supporting IT is the solidarity among us, and I don't have a problem with friendly banter. Sex ed though is a bad idea

I haven't mentioned foreigners for weeks.

Has it occured to you that sometimes their isn't anything on topic to say? I read every post while I'm on, including walls of text. Many times I don't have anything to say.

I agree that the friendly banter is nice, and that we have discussed most things already. However, when someone does post something fresh and on-topic, we should pay attention.

You actually get more responses in this thread if you try to troll or take a literalist POV. Frankly, this thread tries to be somekind of subforum or even chatroom where anything and everything can be discussed. Which is a task no single thread can handle. A lot of the content is also offtopic (ironically including this reply and yours).

Yes, although a lot of the posts recently have been of the personal speculation on the story type, and a lot less about "clues."
Demersel's recent post about the 3 is a good example of a IT clue post, but those have mostly died down again since Leviathan analysis. I guess what I'm saying is that without much to speculate over, the OT stuff helps keep the thread alive and fun, so that there is even a thread left
to discuss IT in by the time we even hit omega
Good to see you Hrothdane

I'll get back when you are more serious. You do enjoy gathering around anyone "foreign" to your "group" while discussing anything but IT, that's a fact for some here, and they should be able to recognize themselves.

By the way, I can see how some of you resort to the "Troll" etiquette as soon as someone comes here to disrupt your "comfort", but that I will not indulge into explaining how it will eventually turn against yourself. I will happily discuss with the mature bunch and leave the kids to their hormonal tempers.

Later...

Good to see you, too. I've been busy with many other things, so I haven't had new speculations or a lot of time to carry on lengthy post conversations, so I just haven't been posting in the IT thread lately.

To get things back on topic, I like Iconoclaste's idea about the connection between the Leviathans' thought processes with Harbinger's. In real life and in the world of Mass Effect, personality and mental processes are determined by biology, so it stands to reason that creatures of the same race and thus similar biology would have a fair degree of mental similarity. In Mass Effect, someone (I can't remember who; I think it was Mordin) said that humans are an anomaly in that you CAN'T make general assumptions about their values and personalities like you can with all other species in the galaxy.

While all Reapers can indoctrinate, Harbinger comes from an entire race that based their entire existence upon controlling "lesser" beings and using them as tools. He would be predisposed by natural instinct to attempt to find a use for other races, even if he views them with contempt. If the Intelligence truly does wish to preserve the civilizations it harvests, it might attempt to preserve their most basic and universal values and personality traits in the form of the respective Reaper's personality, which would further support the idea that Harbinger thinks like a Leviathan.

About the first line  I wanna point out this lines from Leviathan:
"As the intelligence evolved, it studied the development of civilizations. Its understanding grew until it found a solution."
"Unknown. Until the Intelligence finds what it is looking for, the harvest will continue."

They seem to sugest the intelligence seems to have found a solution but needs something it hasn't found yet. I wonder what it is?
