It was hacled and overriden on chronos station, since it is then when it tells shepard to go to the citadel
"Security measures overridden, I will comply" - I believe this is what it says as Shepard asks it.

'sup people?
Since i have only been an active IT member during mark I and have somehow missed mark II, i don't know if this has been mentioned already.
Now i know the prothean has been discussed to death in mark I and mostly people were trying to debunk IT (oh god...thos memories).
Anyway, the
prothean vi, clearly makes a distinction between the catalyst, and the reapers' "master".
Liara:" we thought the reapers created the cycle"
Prothean vi: (i do not remember the exact quote) perhaps, but we believe they are inly its servants, following a higher entity.
Shepard: who?
Vi: unknown its presence is only referred rather than observed
Then..before kai leng appears it talks about the catalyst, which means, that these two are not the same.
I hope i can get my point across, thanks for reading.

And before then on Thessia it's implied Leng had been there first then left. Conviniently he reappears exactly after the VI has said it's bit to Shepard.Skillz1986 wrote...

There's that interview with a marketing guy before release that basically said they don't expect fans to notice any mistakes or retcons. Clearly they've never met fans of anything ever before.SubAstris wrote...
they didn't realise players would make that connection

Yeah I realized that. I'm just saying it's possible it was tampered with before you arrived, not at all guaranteed. It's easy to miss that Leng was there already, it had to be pointed out to me, at which point I said "Oh yeah!"Ace7 wrote...
I thougth this too, but upon viewing the video again, the statue breaks apart before they have access to it. I reckon if Kai Leng was there first, he just killed the scientists after they failed to comply and then waited in the shadows untilsomeone like shep gained access to the beacon for him.

But once again cerberus take it/examine it before Shep can. They run it off to Cronos. Who's to say they didn't alter the contents before Shep next sees it? It just seems off that the only evidence of the crucible and the catalyst is evidence Cerberus had access to for an extended period of time and had the time/ability to alter/delete it. Hopefully this will be explained/hinted in the fabled omega dlc.

Well Thessia just feels different. There's a sudden mood change and an over looming feeling of dread. There's also a noticeable change in Shepard's character. It's... Suss. Very suss...
Nah, I agree she knows how to express emotions so that everyone starts to share them too, but it's only natural for a human to feel sorrow over such a great misfortunate as losing one's homeworld. Besides the game does a great job to remind players what they should feel. "Feel sorry, dammit."SubAstris wrote...

I think that's because life-sapping Liara HAS to be on your team, no-one's going to be happy with that.
