It was hacled and overriden on chronos station, since it is then when it tells shepard to go to the citadel

"Security measures overridden, I will comply" - I believe this is what it says as Shepard asks it.

Since i have only been an active IT member during mark I and have somehow missed mark II, i don't know if this has been mentioned already.

Now i know the prothean has been discussed to death in mark I and mostly people were trying to debunk IT (oh god...thos memories).
Anyway, the
prothean vi, clearly makes a distinction between the catalyst, and the reapers' "master".

Liara:" we thought the reapers created the cycle"
Prothean vi: (i do not remember the exact quote) perhaps, but we believe they are inly its servants, following a higher entity.
Shepard: who?
Vi: unknown its presence is only referred rather than observed

Then..before kai leng appears it talks about the catalyst, which means, that these two are not the same.

I hope i can get my point across, thanks for reading.

+1
Good catch.

Ah yes. I remember now.

I just watched the conversation here on youtube.......

1. Note: when Kai Leng arrives, the VI activates it's security protocol, yet Kai Leng is able to simply swipe it away. Some security! . No wonder the protheans were defeated.

2. Interesting, so many things I missed first time around......especially this...... the VI is implying that wars and conflicts etc. did not happen by chance. Correct me if i'm wrong but does that mean that the very thing the catalyst claims it is working to prevent (i.e. organics vs synthetics) is actually caused by the master(patterns) of the reapers?? :o:o

3 .There is also an interesting line..

"we were sabotaged from within. a splinter group argued we should dominate the reapers rather than destroy them"   B)

...And how BW "forgot" in the ending when a Mass Relay explodes, it causes a supernova. PW has already stated that they didn't realise players would make that connection

And before then on Thessia it's implied Leng had been there first then left. Conviniently he reappears exactly after the VI has said it's bit to Shepard.

There's that interview with a marketing guy before release that basically said they don't expect fans to notice any mistakes or retcons. Clearly they've never met fans of anything ever before.

I thougth this too, but upon viewing the video again, the statue breaks apart before they have access to it. I reckon if Kai Leng was there first, he just killed the scientists after they failed to comply and then waited in the shadows untilsomeone like shep gained access to the beacon for him.

Yeah I realized that. I'm just saying it's possible it was tampered with before you arrived, not at all guaranteed. It's easy to miss that Leng was there already, it had to be pointed out to me, at which point I said "Oh yeah!"

But once again cerberus take it/examine it before Shep can. They run it off to Cronos. Who's to say they didn't alter the contents before Shep next sees it? It just seems off that the only evidence of the crucible and the catalyst is evidence Cerberus had access to for an extended period of time and had the time/ability to alter/delete it. Hopefully this will be explained/hinted in the fabled omega dlc.

I think we can pretty much take it that before shep gets to Cronos, there has been some crafty work going on with the VI, however, it's the temple version that we're slightly unsure of.

I think the Temple VI explains some pretty damaging info against the reapers to have been hacked by cerberus.

Clues... 1. mentioning that "indoctrinated" prothean agents were pushing for control of reapers rather than destroy. This damages everything Cerberus/TIM is aiming for.

2. saying that galaxy wide events are mere patterns created by the reapers or it's master.

It's always confused me how Shepard could apparently "sense" that a Prothean beacon was nearby, and how a Prothean beacon (that looks exactly like every other Prothean beacon!) has a VI in it that says things like "I believe..." Sounds like to me like the "VI" has self-awareness. : /

Well Thessia just feels different. There's a sudden mood change and an over looming feeling of dread. There's also a noticeable change in Shepard's character. It's... Suss. Very suss...

Here is the Leviathan sound.

AND HERE IS THE OTHER PLACE IT PLAYS!

Both of these need to be added to the list of IT evidence we were compiling!

I think that's because life-sapping Liara HAS to be on your team, no-one's going to be happy with that.

Nah, I agree she knows how to express emotions so that everyone starts to share them too, but it's only natural for a human to feel sorrow over such a great misfortunate as losing one's homeworld. Besides the game does a great job to remind players what they should feel. "Feel sorry, dammit."

If you stick with Morinth on ME2, she appears as a Banshee on ME3.

I agree. If the "we can all wake up" Shepard line isn't jarring enough, then we have everything involving the beacon and VI, and bam! A conversation where you have to reassert your intentions with TIM. I feel like the TIM moments are well-placed tests of your resolve... and the "splinter group" vying for control of the Reapers in the last cycle is a sort of context clue.

And then after all that, we get withdrawn!Shep in the comm room. :(

the thing that got me was the look on sheps face when he wakes up from those nightmares.. thats the thing that has me wondering ... a sort of WTF look...
then the second time he wakes up hes holding some kind of datapad.. maybe he fell asleep while working or maybe he was monitoring himself while he slept..?

if shep really did think he was being indoctrinated.. would he tell anyone? with an entire galaxy on his shoulders.. would he..? or just try and get the job done...before it all hits the fan...

also weird that there isnt any regular check ups with the doc.. you think all crew members would have to undergo tests and evaluations... just in case

The sort of check-up Shepard does have reveals nothing as well, interesting because if IT BW could have done so much with it

Someone had to point it out to me before I got it. :P

The third reference code is "IN.CTRN8" = IN (dot) CTRN (eight) = Indoctrinate.
