I've no idea. I only read the last page when I first come on, which consists of only you asking that.estebanus wrote...

I'm sorry. I'm afraid I don't understand what exactly you mean. Are you blaming me for being inquisitive?RavenEyry wrote...

It's not your fault. I misunderstood what you meant, and somebody here apparently took that as a chance to have a go at me. So technically, it's my fault.RavenEyry wrote...

"Now that we know it is possible, it is inevitable that organics will achieve synthesis." Keyword: Now.Raistlin Majare 1992 wrote...
Something I realized during a discussion yesterday:
The Catalyst claims Synthesis is inevitable, that it is only a matter of time even if Shepard does not pick it there...
...but the Catalyst has supposedly been attempting to perform Synthesis for litterally at least a billion years (Age of the Leviathan of Dis). 1 billion years of natural and forced evolution and yet Synthesis has never been achieved succesfully.
Idd say that is another dent in the trustworthiness of the Catalyst (which is already 0)

Also a dent in the idea that choosing synthesis is a wonderful thing with no negative drawbacks.Raistlin Majare 1992 wrote...

This implies that no one before ever knew about synthesis, and that organics have not heard of this option until now.
It is first viable after discovering its possibility of actually happening.
Wait, what does that have to do with what I said?Raistlin Majare 1992 wrote...

That is still 1 billion years of natural evolution, even if the Reapers wiped out every race before they came close to it the Reapers themselves should have evolved towards this perfect Synthesis and so should the Leviathans. Just because both conside themselves the pinnacle of evolution dosent mean they are, if there is something higher achieveable through natural evolution, they should be moving towards it.
But they havent, Synthesis is not natural despite what Catalyst tells us.

Bioware said it: "Nope, that indoctrination theory is just a really big coincidence guys. It's all for realz! Nothing was going on in Shepard's head."

Wait, what does that have to do with what I said?
I said that the catalyst implies that no one else ever made it this far. No one finished the crucible before after all, so no one would meet the catalyst, and no one would manage to achieve synthesis. Shepard is the first being alive to be there. Now, she gets to know that synthesis is a viable option. Organics will now be able to achieve it not through evolution, but through technological advancement.
I hate it when the catalyst and other people try putting synthesis together with evolution, because they're two entirely different things. It's not like we humans will suddenly be half-machine through normal evolution, will we? We won't suddenly grow computer circuits inside us, because it's synthetic. Organics can not evolve into getting synthetic implants, otherwise they'd simply be organic, and not synthetic.

Yes, I know what the catalyst says about synthesis. If it thinks synthesis will come through evolution, then it's a retard that failed at anatomy, biology, and so many other things.Raistlin Majare 1992 wrote...

Sorry if I misunderstood that, but the Catalyst constantly refers to Synthesis (at least the way I hear it) as if it was something natural. Quotes like:
"A chain reaction will combine all organic and synthetic life into a new framework…a new DNA."
"Synthesis is the final evolution of all life."
It also says it tried Synthesis in the past: "We have tried…a similar solution in the past. But it has always failed."
He claims it was because organics was not ready...ready how? Ready as in on the right stage of evolution? If so then why harvest organcis before they are ready for your final solution. Is it ready as in a state of mind, certain ideals, isit directly linked to humans...and if so, why Shepard?
1 Billion years and the Catalyst dosent seem to have an answer beyond, "that is just how it is." 1 Billion years and noone was "ready."
There is something horribly wrong in all this.
