There's lots of reasons. Here is a few
Arians mp/sp timeline.
Keep a desire for playing mp which creates much more post launch revenue.
DLC is building up to it.
There is no reason to do it right now really
Oh yeah, money!

I also rather like the idea of an expansion, which would explain the long wait as development time.

Also, Benezia TIM and Saren weren't under total Reaper control, only Reaper influence. They still thought they were acting independently, and working towards the greater good. This shows they aren't mere puppets, they're more like pawns being manipulated. Thats slow indoctrination, it corrupts you and realigns your goals to further the Reaper agenda

That's the point. There are no real villains in the Mass Effect series. Everyone who appears to be an enemy is in fact a victim of indoctrination. Even the Reapers are victims. No one likes them.spotlessvoid wrote...
There's also EDI's line about taking the necessary steps to protect against indoctrination regarding the Sovereign fragment. Steps Shepard has never taken!

-Excerpt from the book "arguing with idiots", made by estebanusister.
Seriously, that quote is actually a real excerpt from a most "illuminating" discussion I had with a certain anti-ITer. I mean, I know that people can be so set in their own ways that they end up being deluded, but this? That is a whole new level of fail in my book.
Does somebody here have any good news for me? Has anything new been found?

I recently completed my first playthrough with 'From Ashes' installed. One thing I'm wondering about is a thing about Javik I saw mentioned here in the thread.
IIRC, it was something about Javik saying he does not believe you want to destroy the Reapers if you kept the Collector base.
Now I always destroy the collector base, so I didn't get that line. But what I'm wondering is... when exactly does this take place? And does he say anything else when you did destroy the collector base? I have no idea if I got that scene at all, TBH.

That's a really awesome idea.
I also like the idea that Shep wakes up being protected by the rachni, while Anderson plus whoever gives Shep medical attention, the Krogan clear a path and Shep continues to the beam. Long story short, no Guardian, the crucible fires but overloads quickly-only killing or damaging enough Reapers to make them retreat to dark space. Cue escape from the crucible. Cue Hackett wondering how long before the Reapers return. There's ME4 lead in, cue small fortune for EA

Unless the AI is Harbinger.
Also possible: If the AI rebelled against Levisthan who is to say Reapers didnt rebel against the AI

Just the simple fact that his voice changes to a Reaper voice when he says "SO BE IT!" in the refusal ending, makes it obvious it's something that is only posing as the kid, something or someone who wants to look and sound as non-threatening as possible.

Look, the IT allows BioWare to cook up one additional game that will center around Shepard and ending the reaper threat. If I were an EA executive, then I'd probably also order them to first realise the plot twist in another game, because I could then charge full price for something that should have already been in the game originally.

But does that mean it's Harbinger? For all we know, the reapers may actually still be led by the leviathans, and it is as a matter of fact leviathan itself trying to indoctrinate you, using Harbinger as a way to shove the blame on someone else.DoomsdayDevice wrote...

But I do not remember having this conversation with him... I talked to him after every single mission. When exactly does this take place, do you remember?

Yes. It is the first conversation you have with him, when you recruit him on the normandy.

As in: the Leviathans are the real enemy, they are the ones who control the Reapers? Could be. There's nothing that really indicates this though.
All I know is that in the ending, Shep was in close proximity to Harbinger, the one who told her "Struggle if you like, your mind will be mine."

But they said ME3 was the conclussion of Shepard's story. Adding another ME game would go against them completely, and they've been continously stressing the fact that ME3 = Shepard's story ends on multiple sessions.estebanus wrote...

Many players wouldn't want a DLC to be part of "real" ending, and I'm happy with the conclussion of the game. I would be really upset if they released a "real" DLC ending, and I'm part of the majority of gamers. Many of my friends share the same opinion, and they're the average joe as well.
The Extended Cut gave me good closure and ending, and if they removed that from the game, I would be greatly saddened and displeased with the service of Bioware.
