Can someone explain to me why they would release a "real" ending after extended cut and after 6(and counting) months of the games release?
Thanks! =)
By releasing a new game. What do you think?
Look, the IT allows BioWare to cook up one additional game that will center around Shepard and ending the reaper threat. If I were an EA executive, then I'd probably also order them to first realise the plot twist in another game, because I could then charge full price for something that should have already been in the game originally.
But they said ME3 was the conclussion of Shepard's story. Adding another ME game would go against them completely, and they've been continously stressing the fact that ME3 = Shepard's story ends on multiple sessions.
Many players wouldn't want a DLC to be part of "real" ending, and I'm happy with the conclussion of the game. I would be really upset if they released a "real" DLC ending, and I'm part of the majority of gamers. Many of my friends share the same opinion, and they're the average joe as well.
The Extended Cut gave me good closure and ending, and if they removed that from the game, I would be greatly saddened and displeased with the service of Bioware.
We're all the average Joe here. All the people I know are absolutely not satisfied with what we have now. I'm now going to state arbitrarily that I'm part of the majority.
Why are you so uneccasary rude?

Are these people you know in real-life, or are they people who are part of the community forums, or etc? The majority of players are those who do not visit forums normally, or bother to much about it. They accept what's given to them.
Fingertip...you actually like the endings?
It's not like you'd have to play the DLC.
Yes, I enjoyed the endings, espicially after the extended-cut. They gave good closure to me, and I believe even the music that was played during the ending cinematics was emotional, and was tied-to closure messages that it was meant to portray.
I'd probably end up buying the DLC, but there's a risk of me not enjoying it as much as I enjoyed the previous one. Besides, the "canon" aspect comes to mind as well. If there was a continuation, I would want it to be based on my non-DLC in that case, and not based on the expanded-DLC ending.
Saying "Don't buy the DLC", isn't going to cut it for me. The problem is the continuation if they end up doing it, or relate-to the DLC ending to be the actual real deal. I foresee great consquences with adding an plot-twist DLC "real" ending.
Significant reasons I can think of:
Dramatic effect.
Production time (depending on How Many things they're making for us).
I like to think the time spent on making EC pushed back the rest of their DLC plans, or at least slowed them down, along with the backlash maybe they thought we ready (yet) for any big revelations with future DLC
What about it from a Company/Business-perspective? Money isn't the only thing that comes to mind. They need to strike a good morality of delievering a product that pleases the audience. Going with a plot-twist DLC "ending" would dismay the people who actually enjoyed the ending they recieved.
See, I don't dislike IT. I believe it's a pretty cool feature, but I believe with the added Extended-Cut and other variable of factors, there's abit of a problem to implement it. I actually enjoy the ending I recieved as well now as well- but again, an expanded-plot twist DLC "ending" that occurs after the one I recieved is really like a kick in the nuts.
It's like... win/lose type of idea in my opinion. I wholeheartly think Indoctrination Theory is very cool tho regardless, and people can interprete the ending as they like. What I'm trying to say is, I like Indoctrination Theory and the people liking it, but I just ... don't really know about expanding the ending furthermore evenmore with an add-on.
