No, that looks like someone accusing them of cutting stuff to sell later, which is one thing I don't think their guilty of.

Poor Gamble gets a lot of flack since he's brave enough to actually communicate with fans, when I doubt many of the problems are his fault.

This issue is much deeper than just ME. It's the entire gaming industry nowdays.
Since DLCs are planned before game launch, we basically buy (with good money) an unfinished product from the get go.
It's not like the game is done and out there, and suddenly one of the dev team come up with a great idea for additional content, or a new mod.
It's a milking cow, and it's a strategy - make a game (60$) + 3 major DLC (10$ each) + some minor DLC for couple of bucks each.

We used to buy full games for a price. We knew that we pay a lot of money but get the whole product.
Now, we buy a content-lacking game for the same price, and pay more for additional content for the same game. We now pay a lot of money for a game that we know we have to spend even more money if we want to enjoy the full experience.

It's just sad.

DLCs should be FREE.

Wow, wasn't around for AGES!

Can any one point me to the main conclusions from Leviathan both for and against IT?

The most important thing to be taken from Leviathan is the similarities between enthrallment and the ending. Leviathan Enthrallment captures the victim inside an artificially created world and he has no means of escaping. Since Harbinger is a Leviathan Reaper it's logical to assume he possesses the same ability. That's what he uses in London.

I see, thanks.

It is a good point, but was this kind of virtual-reality ever mentioned regarding indoctrination? I can only remember voices, pain... hallucinations maybe.
Also, I started thinking about the differences between the two (enthralled victims complaining about cold and darkness, not aware of time passing when they snap out and such), but then realized that Leviathan said the Reapers have perfected this process so there  would have been changes.

Also, it was very exciting discovering that Leviathan was the original species of the Reapers, and not just a rogue Reaper. I had chills :)

and also, to discover (or get confirmation) that Harby was the first Reaper. He's so important, but we still never talk to him or confront him in ME3.... yet? Well, something to look forward to :)

Another thing about Leviathan is regarding what Levi said about the "catalyst", that it still seeks its solution and that it helped the evolution process so it could harvest more civilizations and gain more knowledge. We can't believe both Levi and the star-child.

Enthrallment is less refined than indoctrination because it requires a Leviathan to maintain mental connection to the victim. He or she can't think or act on their own without Leviathan's direction.

Harbinger acts out of desperation (time constraint) and resorts to his rudimentary ability which is reliable but not the best he can do.

I loved the DLC. Especially the mysterious feel to the story and the underwater conversation with Leviathan.

Conversation with Leviathan was pretty epic. Oh, and the husk head too. That was the icing on the cake for me.

To be honest, I would accuse them of cutting out content for sale as DLC. From Ashes just stinks of it, considering how well it slots into the main narrative and the fact it was available from day one and even came along with the Collector's Edition.

Everything else is fine, at least from a marketting point of view.

Also, he shouldn't lose his cool like that. If you're paid to be a public face, you need to be more professional. And if you don't want snide comments (which admittedly are mostly unfounded) then maybe you shouldn't give any legiment reason for them to exist.

Was chatting with a friend of mine about how good ME3 could have been with even a few of the cut details that were datamined or in the leeked script. Little touches that would have turned the game from 'okay' to 'great'. I have no idea why some things were cut when they left in pointless things like Allers.

Oh, wait. 10/10 review. Never mind then.

Mass Effect 3 isn't the first to go down that route. For example, some DVDs that I have, they basically leave each season as a cliffhanger episode, so if you want to know how it all wraps up, you need to buy the next season.

Kind of similar, not sure if it's the exact same thing.

If you want to know the whole story instead of just the first part, $40 please.

"next season", not "next ten minutes of the current season that we just added recently"

There is nothing wrong with a cliffhanger, it's not really the same in my opinion, and ME1 also has a cliffhanger (REAPERS ARE COMING!).

Just an interesting side note: Leviathan never actually calls The Intelligence the Catalyst, nor does he mention or even imply any connection between it and Citadel.

It may be nothing, but it does leave some interesting possibilities open for the future.
